Hopper was having a very relaxing day at work. He had some forms he needed to fill out, so he wasn't bored, but they're also wasn't anything crazy going on to make him stressed. He was currently sitting in his office as he filled out the papers. Some smooth jazz was playing over the radio as he took a sip of his coffee. Today was looking to be a great day...

"Chief!" his door slammed open and in ran Mike Wheeler followed by Flo.

"I'm sorry Hop I tried to stop him." She apologized.

He sighed and set down his mug. "It's alright Flo, let him in." she nodded and walked out the door. "Sit down Mr. Wheeler. What can I help you with today?"

He sat down and started bouncing his leg. He was shaking like a leaf. "I messed up. I really messed up."

"What did you mess up?" he asked calmly.

"I messed up with El," Mike answered.

Hopper's eyes went red. "If you hurt my little girl, I swear to God Almighty, they won't find your body..."

"No, it's not that!" he looked super nervous. "I didn't hurt her. Well, okay I kind of did. She's super pissed at me right now. But I didn't mean to hurt her feelings. That's why I'm here. I need advice on how to get her not to be mad at me."

Hopper narrowed his eyes, "Tell me the whole story and I'll decide if I need to notify your next of kin..."

Mike took a deep breath, "Okay, so the anniversary of us meeting El is coming up. So, the guys, Max, and I wanted to throw her a surprise party. Well, they were all over at my house this morning helping me decorate and get stuff together. That's when El called. She wanted to know if I wanted to hang out this afternoon. I said no because I was busy helping my dad. Well, at that moment Dustin started laughing at something really loudly and she heard him. She got super mad at me because I had lied to her about helping my dad. I tried to call her back to explain what happened, but she won't pick up. I don't know what to do."

Hopper nodded, "Okay, you didn't mean to break her heart, so I'll give you a pass this time. But you did screw up... how do we fix this..." he thought about it for a bit. "You said you were planning a surprise party?"

Mike nodded, "Yeah, I was going to invite her over to my house tomorrow night and she would be surprised because everyone else would be there too. But at this point, I don't think I'll be able to get her to come anywhere near me."

"Hmm..." Hopper considered his options. "I think the key is getting her to that party. Once she sees that you were planning something nice for her and that's why you lied, I'm sure she will understand. But how do we get her there... what time did you want her to come over?"

"Five o'clock." He answered.

Hopper nodded, "Okay, I can work with that. Leave it to me. she'll be there."

"Where are we going?"

Hopper sighed, "For the tenth time, I will tell you when we get there. It's a surprise." A few minutes prior he had loaded her into the truck and blinded folded her.

He finally pulled up at the Wheeler house and he helped her out of the truck. Mike was waiting at the door. Hopper silently led her into the house and helped her down the stairs.

"Alright, you can take the blindfold off now." He told her.

She tore off the fabric. "Surprise!" her eyes widened when she saw where she was.

Mike came up to her, "I'm sorry I lied to you. We were in the middle of planning the party, and I didn't want to ruin the surprise."

"Friends don't lie" Mike looked down. "...without good reason..." Mike's face lit up and the party started. Hopper gave him a wink and took his leave. All in a day's work.
