Chapter 5 - Eleven
Hopper was sitting on the couch reading a book when El came walking into the room. "Hopper?"
He looked up at her, "Yeah kid?"
"Can you..." she looked down. "Help?"
"Sure thing." He put his book down. "What do you need?"
Instead of saying anything, she started walking down the hallway. Hopper stood up and followed her. She showed him into her room. When he walked in, he saw there were three dresses hanging on the knobs of her dresser. "Choose." She pointed at the dresses.
"You want me to pick which you should wear?" he asked. She nodded. "What is this for?"
She blushed. "Date with Mike..." she mumbled.
"Oh..." Hopper grinned coyly as she turned pink. He had forgotten that El and Mike were going on a date tonight. They were going to go see some movie called 'The Breakfast Club', he thought it sounded kind of stupid. A movie like that was never going to catch on. But, what does he know? "So," he looked back at El. "You want me to help you get ready for your date?"
She nodded and looked back over at the dresses. "Which do you like best?"
"Hmm..." Hopper looked at the three dresses. He held them up in front of her to get an idea of what they looked like. "I'd say no to the red one. It's a little too Christmassy... it's between the blue and the pink for me. Which do you like better?"
"I like the blue." She answered.
"Blue it is then." He smiled and handed it to her. "I'll just step out so you can put it on." He walked out of the room and closed the door, making sure to not shut it all the way. She didn't like it closed completely. A moment later, she opened the door back up. "Wow..." he grinned "Madame, you look stunning..."
She blushed and did a little twirl, "Do you think Mike will like it?"
He scoffed "If he doesn't, he's an idiot. He would also be getting a visit from me."
She laughed and looked at herself in the mirror. "Pretty..."
Hopper put a hand on her shoulder. "Very pretty..."
She quickly brushed out her hair and Hopper helped her tie a blue ribbon into it. Once she got her shoes on, the two got into the truck and he drove her to the movie theater. When they got there, she gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before leaving the vehicle. Hopper blushed as he drove himself home. That Wheeler kid didn't deserve his little girl. But then again... neither did he.
