"Let's go Todd," said Damian.
"Coming, coming," replied Jason.
They both put on their masks underneath and then put on their red helmets. Damian was wearing the suit Jason had gave him and the jacket they had bought.
Damian was excited, they were finally go on patrol as Red Hood and Hood Jr.
"Hurry up Todd,"
Damian knew that Jason killed, but told himself he wouldn't stop Jason. When he first became Robin, he wanted to kill too. He understood the feeling of rage and anger. But he heard his father's voice in his head every time he tried to kill someone.
Justice, not vengeance.
He kept telling himself that he would be okay if Jason killed some crooks on patrol.
"Okay, let's go demon spawn," said Jason, breaking Damian out of his thoughts. They jumped out the window of Jason's apartment. They kept leaping over buildings and buildings looking for scum to bring to justice.
They roamed the roofs of Gotham for a couple of hours, and still no crimes.
"Todd, I'm boreeddd..."
Suddenly, a high pitched scream filled the air. Damian and Jason looked at each other before running towards the sound.
Gunshot.
"We weren't supposed to kill any of them," said one of the Black Skull' s goons.
"But she was about to escape, I panicked," said the other goon.
"Boss is gonna have both are heads on platter once he sees this."
"Relax, I'll just tell Boss that it was an accident, now help me get the rest of these girls in the cage."
All the girls cried and whimpered. Black Skull was shipping them off to some foreign country, just for some cash.
Suddenly, Red Hood and Hood Jr. jumped in.
"It's him, it's the Red Hood," screamed one of the goons. They randomly started shooting at the two vigilantes.
"Whose the kid," said the other goon.
"My name is Hood Junior," said Damian.
"Hah, your just a kid," said the goon. Damian, filled with anger, ran up to the man and kicked him in the gut. He pulled out a ninja star and threw it at the man's shirt, pinning him took a wall. He punched the man a couple times, knocking him unconscious.
Red Hood was battling the other goon.
Of course, the man was scared out of his mind. He knew there was no way he could kill the legendary Red Hood. Instead of pulling out his guns, Jason decided to take the man head on without weapons. Jason didn't want Damian to see the way he took care of things. Whether he admitted it or not, he was finally having a real brother relationship with Damian, he didn't want to ruin that.
He ran up to the man and punched him. The man tried to fight back, but it was no use, Jason was too good of a fighter. Once Jason knocked him unconscious, he turned and saw that Damian had already taken care of the other goon. He smiled under his helmet.
"Let's go free the woman, demon," said Jason. They were about to go free them, but they turned and saw the dead body of a woman.
"The scream and the gunshot," murmured Jason.
"No," said Damian. He walked to to her and found her wallet next to her and a picture had fallen out.
It was a picture of the woman looking happy with a young boy, no more than five years old. Next to them was a man looking happy, hugging his family.
"She had a son, a family," said Damian.
"And because of these criminals, she'll never see them again," continued Damian.
Damian didn't know, but Jason was bottling up his rage. He tried to control it, but it consumed him. Jason pulled out both his guns and shot both the men in the face. He didn't feel regret, he felt good. He had brought justice for the woman they had just murdered.
Of course, as he turned around, he felt the guilt as he looked at Damian. He couldn't see his face, but he knew that Damian was disappointed, like everyone else in Batman's "family".
"Good job," muttered Hood Junior. Jason stood, gaping at Damian. Damian wasn't even being sarcastic.
"Thanks," said Red Hood.
"Let's free the girls at call the cops to help them," said Hood Jr.
"Good idea," said Red Hood.
They freed all the girls and called the cops before disappearing into the night.
They both jumped through the window, back into Jason's apartment.
"Hey, demon, sorry for killing those two. I know it's against Bruce's "moral code" or whatever," said Jason, taking off his helmet and mask.
"It's ok, those two deserved to die," said Damian, taking off his helmet and mask.
"Even father is wrong sometimes."
"Are you hungry, demon spawn?" asked Jason. Damian replied with his stomach grumbling and and a yawn.
"Ok, I'll take that as a yes," said Jason.
Damian took a seat while Jason was about to make a sandwich.
"Hey, do you want turkey in yours demon," said Jason. He heard no reply so he turned and saw Damian asleep.
Jason chuckled and carried him too his spare bedroom. He tucked him in.
His phone started ringing, and the caller ID said Roy. He picked it up.
"Hey man, what's up," said Roy.
"The usual, what about you"
"I actually need a little help, do you mind coming over to Star City," said Roy.
Jason bit his lip before replying.
"Sorry Roy, I'm busy,"
"Did you finally get a girl Jaybird," said Roy.
"No Roy, Damian's actually staying with me."
"You mean that arrogant brat, the one that's your brother. I thought you hated him."
"I did too, but he needs me right now. He got into a fight or something and he need someone to be there for him."
"Ok, I got ya man."
"Thanks for understanding, Damian and me are finally having a good relationship and I don't want to ruin that," said Jason.
"I know Jaybird, say no more. I know you love him. Bye," said Roy, hanging up.
"I don't love him....never mind, I do," said Jason, putting his phone down and sighing.
But before he could stop himself, he bent down and kissed Damian on the forehead.
He looked disgusted for a second, but relaxed. He knew that over these past couple of days, Damian had become real little brother to him. He walked out the door and gently closed it, looking happy.
Damian smiled.
Little did Jason know that Damian was pretending to be asleep and heard his whole conversation with Roy.
