Chapter Four
"Are you going to eat that?"
Marshall looked up at the nurse that had broken his concentration "No." He managed to speak.
The nurse grabbed the plate and fork that was in front of him, she carried the dirty dishes to the kitchen before placing them in the sink "What were you thinking about?"
Marshall shifted his gaze up at the woman in his kitchen; she wasn't the one he wanted, no one could ever replace Larna. He hated people asking him questions, if it wasn't Doctor Snapell, it'd be the nurses that were forced to watch him.
Marshall felt like a trapped man in his own home.
"Marshall?" The woman peered her head out of the kitchen, checking to see he was still in his seat at the kitchen table.
He looked at her features, she was a large woman; lovely but wasn't Larna. The nurse had visible tattoos, none that Marshall cared to ask about, her blue hair shaved into some sort of pixie cut that Marshall didn't dare to question. She was a nosey woman; she didn't need to know that.
"Were you thinking of her?" The nurse stepped out of the kitchen, she watched Marshall. She was waiting for any sort of reaction.
Everyone wanted to talk about Larna; Marshall didn't. Larna was his mystery, not the world's. If Larna hadn't made the headlines than no one would've cared.
"I know you don't like to talk, Marshall but it's not healthy to bottle everything up.'
Marshall knew that, but no one could listen to him the way Larna did. Larna would've given him the perfect advice, while she listened to his problems.
The nurse sighed; she had been told that Marshall didn't talk to anyone. She was hoping that she could be the exception. She didn't mind Marshall but his lack of responses when it came to their interactions did worry her.
"I'm going to lie down." Marshall rose from his spot at the kitchen table before walking down the hallway and into his room.
The nurse watched as Marshall closed his bedroom door.
