Sonia walked around Hulbury city as she was coming back from the stadium after watching a gym battle between Nessa and the new girl. She smiled as she finished drinking a soda she got from the venders. Walking back home she noticed someone sleeping under a tree with multiple pokemon around them. The boy wore a black shirt purple pants and black shoes with a pendant around his neck.

She walked over and saw the different color pokemon as she got star struck from the mons. "Woah. Different color pokemon. They look like they're shining in the light." She said but stepped on a leave waking up the Pangoro. The panda stood up and walked to her making her trip.

"Ah. I'm sorry I didnt mean to wake you up." She said but she didn't noticed the male moving.

"Po. Don't buddy. I'm sure it was an accident." He said as he stretched and yawned but felt his Blastoise move and fall towards him making the boy hold his arms out. "Blastoise wake up!" He announced making the mon slowly crush him. "Blastoise!" He said but was flattened by the mon as he groaned. Po walked over to the two and sat up the water type making him thank the Pangoro as he sat up before standing up. Turning around he looked at the female as she gasped.

"Y/n?" she questioned making him look at her as he squinted before opening his eyes.

"Sonia?" He asked as the female smiled and hugged him with him hugging her back.

"You're home." She smiled before backing away. "If I knew you were coming I would've called Leon along with Raihan and we would've thrown a party." He smiled making the trainer chuckle.

"Yeah but I didn't want to ruin the suprise." He smiled as Blastoise walked next to them with the rest of the team.

"Squirtle you've grown." She smiled as the fully evolved pokemon gave her a hug. "It's good to see you too." She smiled as the water type placed her down. "so who are these pokéfriends?" she asked looking at the mons besides the boy besides Garchomp as she stood behind him.

"Right. The is Po the Pangoro." Smiling the boy introduced as Po nod as her with a smirk. "Hydra the Hydreigon." He nod as the dragon type roared. "Meta the metagross." Said pokemon just looked at her. "Jaws the Garchomp." He said as the garchomp hid behind him. "And Godzilla the Tyranitar." He smiled as Tyranitar hugged her.

"why are they all different colors from the normal pokemon?" She asked making Y/n smile.

"That's because they're shiny pokemon that Blastoise and I caught and made friends with over the years. I'm actually almost done I just need to catch the shinies of this region." He smiled before returning everyone except for Blastoise. Walking to Wedgehurst the two smiled and stood at a train station after buying some tickets.

"No way. You ran into multiple legendaries and even saw Arceus?" Astonished Sonia looked at the boy as he nod.

"Yep. Blastoise and I went through many battles and well some of them weren't so pleasant." He said as he remembered dying to Giritina if it wasn't for Blastoise and his pokemon defending their trainer he would've been gone. "But that's not the worst of it I travelled through space/time and appeared in Kalos. That's where I got Po when he was a Pancham. But this Kalos I went to was the exact same but with a different form of battling." He said as he remembered battling Lysander.

"Blastoise and I had a amazing time together and I'm glad to return home after so many years." He smiled as he pet the turtles shell.

"What was the battle form that this alternate Kalos had?" She asked as she sipped a bit of water.

"Mega evolution." He said as he smiled. "Blastoise and I were amazed by it. But after battling Lysander and Xerneus, the mega stone for Blastoise cracked then shattered. Since then we couldn't find a way to mega evolve." He said as Sonia nod as she smiled.

"Mega evolution or not. You two went through so much. Did you ever become a champion in these areas?" She asked but saw him shake his head.

"Not really. I didn't see being a champion as something I wanted to do. So when I beat the elite four I simply told them I didn't want to be a champion but they insisted on putting my name in the hall of fame. Blastoise and I didn't mind as we knew it wouldn't be a hassle. But enough about me what about you. How have you and Leon been? Also Raihan? Did you guys replace me so soon?" He smiled elbowing the female in the side gently making her smile.

"We would never do that to you. We just met Raihan and you met him remember." She said showing him a picture.

"You and Raihan were always fighting on who would beat Leon first. Speaking of which. Do you plan on going to the pokemon league to battle Leon?" She asked putting the picture away as he smiled.

"How else am I gonna beat Leon." He smiled as the train appeared before returning Blastoise to his pokeball. The two sat in a booth as they looked outside. "How's the professor doing?" He asked looking at her as she smiled.

"I'm doing good." She smiled making the male wide eyed.

"Wait you're a professor?" He asked as she smiled.

"Yeah. Grandma left it up to me. Speaking of family how is your mom?" She asked making him sigh.

"My mom had a heart attack when working as of now she's on bed rest and some of the money I make from battling goes to her so she can keep the house and keep food in the fridge." He smiled as his friend looked at him with regret.

"I'm sorry for asking." She said but felt a hand on her head.

"It's no problem. I knew you were gonna ask one way or another. Yamper is taking care of her along with a Machop I caught to help her." He smiled as he remembered catching Machop for her gentle nature something he knew would work for his mom.

"Well that's nice of you." She smiled but noticed someone walking behind Y/n.

"Yo Sonia!" A cheerful voice called out as the two turned to the source of the voice seeing two people appear.

"Leon, Raihan what are you two doing here?" The female asked as the champion with the fluffy cape smiled.

"Raihan and I were gonna go and train in the forest. Who's this?" Leon asked looking at the male as he smiled. "Your date?" He teased causing her to blush same with Y/n.

"Leon. Do you seriously forget about this guy?" Raihan said as he sat next to him and took a suprised selfie with him that didn't catch the hunter off guard as he posed with the guy.

"Good to see you you too Raihan." Y/n smiled as he and the gym leader smirked.

"It's been a while Y/n. Still getting into trouble?" He smirked as the man shook his head.

"I'll have you know I've been doing fine." He said but Blastoise's pokeball shook causing Y/n to pat it. "Quiet you." He smirked but Leon looked at the male with intensity. "You good Leon?"

"Y/n?" He asked causing the man to nod. Leon smiled as he jumped over Raihan and hugged the man causing the three boys to fall into the booth.

"Ow." The two victims of the hug said causing Sonia to giggle.

"Howhaveyoubeen?" Leon smiled as he looked at his friend holding him in a bone crushing hug.

"Good....can you....get off." He gasped causing the champion to hop off the male and Raihan as the four friends sat in the booth.

"So what are you doing in Galar?" Raihan asked turning to the side the gym leader asked as the hunter smirked.

"Simply put it. To battle Leon again." He smiled as Leon looked at him.

"Oh really. I'm sure you remember what happened last time." Leon smirked as Y/n smirked back as he and the champion looked at each other as their rivalry never left each other.

"Oh I do. I also remember you getting a critical with that scratch." Y/n smirked. "Blastoise and I grew so we're ready for you this time."

"That maybe so but you still have to go through the league do you plan on battling the gym?" Leon asked making his rival nod.

"Of course. Speaking of which Sonia." Turning to the female he smiled at her. "I'll be taking Grookey." He smiled as she smiled back.

"Okay." Walking off the train the four friends made their way to the pokemon lab.

"We'll see you guys later." Leon said before walking away with Raihan.

"I'll be waiting Y/n." The ground type gym leader said making Y/n nod as the two left.

"Come in. I'll get Grookie for you." She smiled as Y/n followed her, walking to the lab, the two went to the starters smiling Y/n walked to the three starters as the small green monkey looked up at him.

"You want to join my team Grookey? He asked the small green monkey as it smiled and started to hit his little stick against the table before jumping onto Y/n's shoulder making the male smile. "Welcome to the team little buddy." He smiled as the grass type starter hugged his face with a wide smile.

"I should send the rest of my team to the professor. Of course Blastoise will stay with me." He smiled as his water starter appeared making Grookey look up in amazement as the small jolly monkey smiled at the turtle. "Sonia where's your P.C?" Turning to his friend Sonia pointed at the corner showing the P.C.

Making his way there along with Blastoise and now a happy Grookey as it jumped onto his shoulder, the male began to type in Professor Roman's number showing the old professor as he wore a blue suit. He had white hair  and a beard along with black eyes and had a white complexion.

"Ah Y/n. Seems like you made it to Galar safely." He smiled making the male smile back.

"Indeed professor. How is everyone doing?" He asked making the old man turn to the window before showing the male all the shiny pokemon and normal pokemon he caught.

"They're doing just fine. Your Tyrantrum seems to enjoy himself with it's shiny form as the two like to rough house. Your fire types are enjoying the hot sand that they and the ground types made together. Oh here comes Krokodile." He smiled showing a Shiny Krokodile wearing a sunglasses.

"Hey King k. Rool." Y/n greeted making the pokemon smile and wave at him before calling over everyone as they all surrounded the professor with them all greeting him and his new starter. "Those are your new friends and family Grookey." He smiled making the monkey smile as well as he waved to them.

"So anyways Y/n what can I help you with?" He questioned as he returned to the screen through the sea of pokemon.

"I was gonna tell you I wanted to send back my team except for Blastoise. I'm gonna do the gym battles here and they're to high in level." He smiled making the male nod.

"That's not a problem at all. Please send them to me and I'm sure they'll enjoy some R&R." He smiled as Y/n placed the five pokeballs in the transport as all five of them made it safely. "Alright they're all here. I'll let them out and have them enjoy their rest. Good luck on the challenge Y/n. Your pokemon and I will be cheering you on." He smiled as the pokemon cheered.

"Right. See you Professor. Say goodbye  Grookey." He said as the small monkey said buy in the pokemon language.

"Its getting late. You should stay the night and start in the morning." Sonia said making him nod as he yawned with his Blastoise and Grookey yawning.

Timeskip to bed time.

"Goodnight Y/n." Sonia smiled as she left the break room as Y/n waved away as Grookey climbed onto the couches back with it laying down on it as Blastoise slept next to the couch as he slept in his shell.

"Night Sonia. See ya tomorrow." He smiled as the professor closed the door with Y/n yawning as he slowly began to fall asleep with Grookey sliding to his side as the two fell asleep.

"Tomorrow is the day to hunt down the gym badges and possible shinies." He muttered as he fully fell asleep.
