Topanga Takana was just trying to make it work. A journalist at Buzzfeed—a job she wasn't even sure she wanted—and a mother of a son that she could barely even see, she was just trying to make ends meet, finding odd jobs to work and trying to prove that she was fit enough to have full custody of her six-year-old son, all while trying to remember to relax every once in a while, though it was easier said than done. But at the end of the day, it could be worse, and Topanga reminded herself of that every day. But no one could blame her for wishing things could get easier.

Enter a new job offer: watching over the dog that had followed her home from the park where its ball had gotten trapped in her picnic basket. While it wouldn't make things easier, it would make them interesting, as Topanga soon finds herself in constant contact with a man who had a insisted on asking her about her day after his nightly FaceTimes with his dog, coaxing her into telling him what was on her mind, then her asking the same of him. It wasn't necessarily the break she had been hoping for, but it was nice to have someone to talk to.

As time goes on, Topanga begins to realize that distance makes the heart grow fonder, no matter where they may be, but at the end of it all, everyone just wants someone to love.

So...on the day I was supposed to be posting this (thanks Wattpad) it was my birthday, and what better way to treat myself than by writing a fic for Chris Evans, love of my life, using a character whose name is based off of a nickname I was given by my dad when I was younger, this isn't a self-insert fanfiction, what are you talking about? But in all seriousness, I'm actually quite excited for this story, it's gonna be incorporating a lot of real life with a good deal of social media, so this is just gonna be a time.

This story is going to be part of a larger social media series, so while you won't see any characters from other stories appear in this one, you will see these characters reappear in other stories, so keep an eye out for that, but all of them can be read as standalones.
