Cole's P.O.V.:
We were on the new Destiny's Bounty and as we watched from the sky, a dark cloud was running through Ninjago. We saw people running from it. We got the ropes and headed down to see what we could do. Kira, Echo, Pixal, Seliel and Nya decided to stay aboard so they could tend to the officers and all of the others that we already saved.
"Ok, let's see what this is made of." Lloyd said pointing to it. "Care to do the honors Jay?"
"My pleasure." Jay charged up his lightning powers. "Lightning!"
He shot a huge lightning bolt into the cloud, but it didn't make a dent. We all tried our powers at the same time, but nothing was working. So we all grabbed the ropes to go back up, but I felt an ice cold feeling wrap around my foot.
"Guys! Help! It's got me!" I shouted.
It pulled me down, slamming me on the ground. I looked into the cloud seeing the endless void of nothingness and it was almost like I could make out someone or something inside.
Luckily Lloyd hopped down and saved me by cutting the cloud with his sword.
"Come on, I gotcha." He said helping me up. "Reel us in! Quick!" He yelled to Nya.
Lloyd took me and reeled me up to the bounty. My foot was sore from the pulling, but it wasn't too bad. I was shaking and scared.
"Cole are you ok?" Seliel asked me.
"I... I touched it. It was colder than anything I had ever felt. There was something inside the cloud, I think it was an Oni." I caught my breath.
"An Oni?" Lloyd questioned.
"How are we supposed to fight something we can't touch?" Kai questioned.
"Maybe we can't fight it, but I know someone who can." Lloyd said.
"Lloyd, are you sure we can trust him?" Kira asked.
"No, but what other choice do we have?" He sighed. "Nya, set a course for Kryptarian."
"Lloyd, these people have nowhere else to go, do you really think they'll take kindly to letting him on board?" Nya asked.
"We can drop them off in Nom." Seliel suggested. "It's out of the cloud's range and my father can get the villagers to help with housing and food."
"That's a great idea." Nya agreed. We'll go to Nom and then to Kryptarian."
Nya went back to the controls and set a course for Nom. Seliel and Kira proceeded to see me if I was ok and after everything that happened.
"Here." Seliel came back with a cup of tea and a blanket.
"Thanks." I said as she wrapped the blanket around me and I drank the tea.
"Are you in any more pain?" Kira asked looking at my foot.
"No, I think I'm alright now." I said moving it. "Thank you Kira."
"No problem." She said. "I better go check on Lloyd."
She left the room and I turned to Seliel who was sitting next to me.
"Pretty crazy day huh?" She said.
"It's just another day in Ninjago." I laughed. "Are you ready to go back home?"
"Yeah, it'll be nice to see my father again." She smiled. "Don't worry, I'm not going to leave you in a time like this."
"If your village needs you then you can go." I said.
"It's ok, we'll only be there a few minutes." She said. "Besides, you guys need all the help you can get right now."
"Yeah, I guess we do." I giggled.
I was so happy Seliel was here. No matter how freaked out I was, she always had a way to make me laugh.
Lloyd's P.O.V.:
We were on our way to Nom to drop those people off. I was looking at the city skyline in the distance. Usually it was a beautiful site, but now it was engulfed in a giant black cloud.
"Hey you." Kira snuck up behind me.
"Oh hey." I kept looking at the view. "How is Cole?"
"He's pretty shaken up but he's doing better." She answered. "How are you doing?"
"Well, I'm not looking forward to seeing my father again." I sighed.
"I know." She sighed. "I wish there was something I could do to help."
"That's ok." I said. "Are all of the passengers ok?"
"Yeah, most of them weren't injured, just really freaked out." She said. "And if they were, it was mostly minor."
"They're lucky to have you on the ship to help them. It makes me think that they might need your help in Nom too."
"Are you saying you want me to stay in Nom while you're out there doing who knows what?" She yelled.
"I'm sorry, but now that you're my girlfriend it's not safe for you to be around my father." I said. "I'm already taking a huge risk by letting him out of prison, and I can't risk losing you too."
"And I don't want to lose you either, so if you get into trouble I want to go through it with you, whatever it may be." She held my hand.
"I mean it's your choice of course, but my father is very... temperamental. I'm just not sure if he can be trusted, especially around you."
"And if he gets out of line, I'll have a team of ninja right by my side the whole time." She smiled. "Trust me, I'll be ok."
"Ok." I sighed. "Just be careful around my father please. I don't want him to hurt you."
"I will." She nodded.
With Kira going with us, I was going to have to keep an extra close eye on my father to make sure he didn't try anything.
Echo's P.O.V.:
I was in the infirmary running with Zane as he ran some final tests on me. Most of the damage I sustained he was able to repair and most of my systems were back online. I still had a small pain in my chest, but it wasn't nearly as bad as before.
"Ok, all your scans look good. There seems to be no lasting damage, but you do need to give yourself time to heal." He told me.
"Thank you brother." I said. "I feel so much better."
"Glad to hear it." He smiled. But then he looked at me and frowned. "Is something else bothering you?"
"I was just thinking about the ones in the first realm. I could not save them." I frowned.
"It was not your fault." He told me. "The Oni are ruthless creatures that destroy everything in their path."
"I am aware of that, but I am the reason the Oni are here."
"What are you talking about?" He asked.
I sighed and decided to use my projector to show him what had happened to Faith and I...
**********Flashback**********
Faith and I were in the dragon camp feeding the dragons.
"Echo, can you get the meat from the reserve?" Faith asked me.
"Of course Faith." I nodded.
I turned around and saw some kind of dark cloud in the distance.
"Faith, what is that?" I pointed to it.
"Oh no. They're back." Faith yelled. "Everyone take cover."
Panic ensued. Everyone was running around getting on dragons and trying to flee to other realms. Unfortunately people that were touched by the cloud were frozen in darkness.
I noticed Faith was running but she tripped on the ground. The cloud was approaching, I had to do something.
She held her breath and I ran in to help her, but I didn't know what was waiting for me inside that cloud. It was filled with these big black creatures and they were stronger than anything I had ever faced.
Faith and I tried to fight them off ourselves, but we could not keep up. An Oni hit me right in the chest, but before he finished me, Faith jumped in front of me and took the hit. She fell unconscious and started to turn to stone.
With all the strength I had left, I picked Faith up and carried her out of the cloud. I knew she didn't want to leave her home, but we had too. So I took her and hopped on Firstbourne and we flew to Ninjago.
Before we could reach the realm, Firstbourne was almost pulled out of sky by an Oni tentacle, but after all of that we were able to escape.
******End of Flashback******
I turned off my projector and looked at my brother.
"See, the Oni followed us when we took Firstbourne to the realm." I frowned. "If we had not come here, you would not be in this predicament."
"We do not know that for sure." Zane said.
"Well how else could they get here?" I asked.
"Not much is known about the Oni, but Master Wu said they were invading all of the realms." He said. "Perhaps they have the ability to travel between them?"
"Maybe. But even so, I cannot help but feel like this is my fault." I sighed. "Sometimes I wish I was a nindroid that couldn't feel."
"Yes, but if you do not flush out the bad feelings, you will never experience the good ones."
I smiled at him. My brother always knows how to cheer me up.
Lloyd's P.O.V.:
After a quick trip to Nom to drop all the passengers off, we arrived at Kryptarian. Nya landed the ship and I went to my father's cell. I didn't want to let him out, but this was our only choice.
I walked into Kryptarian and into my father's cell. I walked along the bridge and went to see him.
"I knew you would be back." He laughed.
"Save it, you help us defeat the Oni, and then your going right back in that cell."
"We'll see." He said.
"Open cell one!" I shouted.
The walls of the cell went up and my father came out. This was going to be a long journey.
