Jay's P.O.V.:

I was sitting by Nya's tank just talking nonstop about all that happened the last year. Really last year was nothing too exciting, but she was trying to keep her mind off the call of the sea.

"...and then the ninja convinced me to come back here with them. Then Kira had the idea to come out on the bounty and that's how we ended up finding you." I finished.

"Wow, I sure missed a lot." She said looking off in the distance.

"What are you looking at?" I asked.

"I've tried to ignore it, but the call is getting louder and louder." Nya said. "Maybe the sea wants me to come back?"

"Nya no, you have to ignore it!" I said. "Remember who you are, remember how much you want to come back."

"I do want to come back, but I'm scared."

"Scared? Why?"

"What happens if the crystal doesn't work like it should?" She frowned. "What if it works too well and takes all my strength from me?"

"Nya there's nothing to worry about." I reassured her. "Once Kai and Cole get here, I'm sure everything will go back to normal."

"That's the thing Jay, without my powers I'll be exactly that. Normal." She frowned. "I won't be the water ninja anymore. I won't be anything anymore!"

"I thought that was what you wanted."

"Of course I don't want my powers taken away, who does? But that's the only way I can turn back." Nya said.

"Well, what do you choose?" I asked.

"If I have to choose between keeping my powers, or being with you, I choose you Jay." She put her hand to the glass and I met hers.

"You don't have to give up your powers to get me to stay with you." I said. "I love you and nothing will ever change that."

"Come on, you don't want to be with a blue sea monster like me." She sighed.

"Why would I care if you're blue? It's my favorite color." I smiled, she smiled back.

"Hey, have you heard anything from Kai and Cole?" Kira came in.

"Not yet. They're on their way to the island but it could be a while before they get there." I said holding my side.

"What's wrong?" Kira asked.

"Oh, Kai hit me pretty hard on the boat earlier, it's no big deal." I said.

"Wait, Kai did what?" Nya said.

"It's a long story." I frowned.

"Are you sure you're ok?" Kira asked and I shook my head. "Here let me see."

I let her look at my side and as she touched it I flinched in pain. She lifted up my shirt to see there was a big burn mark on my side where Kai had hit me.

"Kai is so in for it when I turn back to normal." Nya griped. "Do you think you can you heal him Kira?"

"I'll do my best." Kira said.

Kira used her power to heal my side. When she was done, she looked so tired she could barely stand up.

"Kira? Are you ok?" I asked.

"Yeah, I... I'm fine." She said catching her breath. "Are you feeling better Jay?"

"Yeah, thanks." I nodded.

I helped Kira sit down in a chair and got her some water. She seemed thankful and after a few minutes she looked a little better. I turned back to Nya and kept talking to her to keep her mind off things. Hopefully Kai and Cole would be back soon.

Kai's P.O.V.:

Cole and I were at the docks mapping out the best way to get to Chen's island. Any way we put it, it always came to a two day journey that we didn't have time for.

"Shouldn't we be in the air by now?" I complained.

"Kai we can't fly until we know where to go." Cole told me.

"But Nya's going to give in to the call and want to go back to the sea if we don't make it back in time." I reminded him.

"That's why I called in a favor." Cole said.

"Hi ya hotshot."

"Ahh!" I turned around to see Skylor behind me. "Skylor? What are you doing here?"

"I heard you're going to my father's island, and I know the perfect way to get there." Skylor smiled.

"How?" Cole asked.

"Back when my father ran the noodle shop, he created a portal to teleport his noodle trucks back and forth from the island to Ninjago." She explained.

"Wouldn't it have been easier to just take a ferry?" Cole asked.

"Yes, but a portal was much more efficient." Skylor said.

"If the portal has been there the whole time, why has no one ever found it?" I asked.

"Because it's in a place no sailor would ever go. Rocky bluff." Skylor said.

"Are you kidding? The bounty is huge, it'll never make it through rocky bluff." Cole said.

"Do you want to save Nya in time or not?" Skylor said.

"Fine, Rocky Bluff it is." I said. "Set sail Cole."

"I hope you're right about this." Cole said to Skylor.

Cole started the bounty and we sailed to Rocky Bluff. After a few hours we were there. Skylor directed us straight in between two skinny rocks. Cole and I grabbed each other and screamed, but the next thing we knew we were right in front of the island.

"See? I told you." Skylor smiled.

Cole and I let go of each other and stood there awkwardly as Skylor sailed us onto the shore.

"We will never speak of this again." Cole said.

"Agreed." I nodded.

"Come on you two." Skylor jumped off the ship.

We got off the ship and started our journey to the cave. After hiking for a while, we finally reached the right one.

"This is it." Skylor said. "This is where we can find the captivation crystals."

"And you're sure these will take Nya's powers and turn her back to normal?" I asked.

"Positive." Skylor said.

"Ok, let's do it." I said.

Cole, Skylor and I made our way into the cave. I lit my fire so that we could see. It took us a while to get to the crystals, but once we did, there was only one left.

"What? Where are the rest of the crystals." Cole frowned.

"They're all gone." Skylor frowned.

"How did you know so much about them?" I asked.

"My dad used to tell me they were the key to ultimate power, but now I know what he meant." She frowned. "There used to be a lot of vengestone down here until I uncovered an illegal mining operation on the island a few years ago. I guess they had to take the crystals to get to it."

"Vengestone? Do you think it's the same person we're trying to track?" Cole asked.

"It wasn't them directly, but I found Ronin and his goons down here. He said the buyer remained anonymous, but they offered a really large bounty for it."

"This sounds like something Ronin would do." Cole said.

"Yeah, but we can worry about that later." I said looking at the crystal. "We need to focus on Nya right now."

"Be careful with it Kai." Cole said. "If it breaks before we get it out, we lose our chance to get Nya back."

"The captivation crystal won't work unless it's fully intact." Skylor warned.

"Relax, I got this." I said.

I carefully pried the crystal out of the wall, but then the cave started shaking.

"Cole stop it. I'm trying to concentrate." I said.

"That's not me." Cole said.

"The lack of vengestone in the walls must've made the cave unstable." Skylor said. "Kai, we gotta get out of here!"

"Not until I get that crystal." I stated.

With the walls becoming looser, I was able to pull the crystal out and we all took off running back towards the exit. Once we out of there, the cave collapsed and we were all catching our breaths.

"Is everyone ok?" Cole asked.

"Yeah, I think so." Skylor said.

"Yeah, I'm good." I said. "And I got the crystal!"

"Alright! Great job Kai!" Cole gave me a high five.

"Ok, let's go get my sister back." I smiled.

Pixal's P.O.V.:

Lloyd, Zane and I had been working together trying to track down where Echo's SOS signal was coming from, but with all the interference, it was proven easier said than done. Zane was worrying me a bit, he seemed focused, but he didn't seem as sad and distraught like he was before. That was so unlike him.

"Find anything Zane?" I asked.

"No." He answered.

"Zane you don't seem like yourself." Lloyd said.

"I turned down my emotion meter to better focus on finding my brother." He explained. "Since then my productivity has increased significantly."

"Why would you do that?" I asked.

"Because I cannot allow myself to feel sad about my brother going missing. Instead I must put my emotions aside to focus on finding him. This way our search efforts will be much faster."

"Yes, but at what cost?" Lloyd sighed.

"So do you have any leads?" I asked trying to change the subject.

"I keep running into interference from wherever he is. It seems like he's somewhere with no service whatsoever." Zane said.

"Maybe he's underground?" Lloyd suggested.

"That is what I was thinking, but if he is, it would be impossible to find him without a proper search of the unexplored tunnels on foot." I said.

"We can do that, but we have to wait for the others to get back with the Crystal to save Nya." Lloyd said.

"Of course." Zane nodded.

Zane, Lloyd and I decided to wait until Kai and Cole got back. Then we heard the bounty pulling up outside.

"That sounds like them." I said.

"Let's go see." Lloyd said.

Kai's P.O.V.:

Cole, Skylor and I ran into the monastery and made our way downstairs. We went to see Nya, Jay and Kira, then Zane, Lloyd and Pixal joined us.

"Did you get it?" Jay asked.

"Yeah." I showed it to him. "It was the last one."

"Jay, the call. It's so loud I can't resist it anymore." Nya said covering her ears.

"It's ok Nya. Kai's got the stuff we need to fix you." Jay said. "Just hang on a little longer."

"Nya should not be in that tank as her power will be completely drained." Zane said. "She will not have the strength to swim to the surface once the process is completed."

"Then what's the safest way to bring her back?" Lloyd asked.

"If she jumps out and I use my powers to freeze her, then the process should not harm her." Zane said.

"Ok, let's try it." Nya said. "I'm ready Zane."

"Ok." Zane said.

Nya quickly jumped out of the tank and Zane immediately froze her in ice. I used the crystal and it took all the elemental powers out of her. Before I knew it, it was her human self again, but she was weak and passed out.

"Nya!" Jay ran to her.

I ran to join them and Jay held Nya in his arms. I watched Nya slightly opened her eyes. She flashed a smile at Jay before passing out again.

"It worked." Jay said. "It worked!"

"Welcome back sis." I smiled.

Jay and I took Nya to her room and laid her down in her bed so she could rest. Jay and I went back with everyone else and let her sleep.

"Is Nya ok?" Kira asked.

"She's fine now, she's just exhausted." Jay said. "All she needs is rest now."

"Good I'm glad all of this is finally behind us." Cole said.

"Not all of it." Zane said. "Echo is still missing."

"And we'll find him, we just need to know where to look." Cole said.

"We think he may be somewhere in the subway tunnels, but there are so many that we don't know which ones to look in." Lloyd said.

"What about the N line?" Jay asked.

"N line? The subway lines only go from A to M." Pixal said.

"Yeah they do, but the N line was never completed." Jay said. "If I were a criminal that's where I would hide my stolen goods."

"Then we should look there next." Lloyd said.

"Wait, what about Nya?" I asked. "She's going to be out of it for a while and I don't want her to wake up alone."

"Go save your friend. We'll look after her." Skylor said. Pixal and Kira were nodding with her.

"Come on guys, there's no time to waste." Lloyd said. "Let's go find Echo."
