Why didn't anyone tell me I had been spelling Primeval's Eye wrong this whole time! 🤦‍♀️

Kira's P.O.V.:

We were all flying on the back of Nya's mech on way to the Samurai X cave in the middle of the desert. She was almost there when her mech started shorting out.

"Hang on guys, it's gonna be a bumpy landing." Nya said.

We all braced ourselves as Nya's mech plummeted into the ground. Everyone recollected themselves after we were on the ground, but Nya didn't come out of the mech.

Kai, Jay and I ran to help her out while the rest of them went to check on Cole. Working together, Kai and Jay got the hatch open and it was filled with smoke. Kai and I dragged Nya out and she was coughing and catching her breath.

"Nya, are you ok?" Kai asked.

"Y-yeah." She kept coughing. "I can't say the same for my mech though."

"Don't worry, I'll help you fix it." Jay said.

"Are you hurt?" I asked.

"A couple bumps and bruises, but nothing I can't handle." She told me.

"Ow!" Cole held his side as he tried to stand up.

"Whoa Cole, take it easy." I said as I ran over to him.

"I'm fine, let's just get home." He said, still struggling.

"Stay still, let me heal you." I said.

Cole reluctantly nodded and pulled up his shirt so I could see. He had a big purple spot on his side that he didn't let me see before. I stared healing him and after a few minutes he was feeling better but I was feeling tired.

"Is that good?" I asked catching my breath.

"Yeah, that feels a lot better. Thanks Kira." He said.

We still had a little ways to go before we reached the Sam X Cave. Zane and Pixal helped Cole walk the rest of the way and Skylor walked in the back with me to make sure I was alright. Kai and Jay had to basically pry Nya away from her mech to get her to come with us. She wasn't too happy about it, but eventually she did.

After a short journey, we finally made it to the Samurai X cave. Master Wu, Misako, Seliel and Pixal were already there.

"Cole!" Seliel shouted before running up and hugging him.

"Nice to see you too Seliel." Cole smiled. Then he flinched. "Ow!"

"Oh sorry." Seliel said before lifting up his shirt and seeing the large bruise. "What happened? Are you hurt?"

"It's a long story, I'll tell you everything later." Cole said. "I'm just happy to see you."

"And I'm just happy you're back in one piece." Seliel grabbed his hands and smiled.

"Ninja, you've returned." Master Wu smiled and started hugging everyone.

"Did you find Lloyd?" Misako asked me.

"Not yet, but we will, I promise." I said.

"It'll be hard to find him without any mechs or vehicles." Kai said.

"Yeah, we don't even have the bounty anymore because the police took it." Jay crossed his arms.

"I might have something that can make it easier on you." Pixal said. "When the ninja got arrested, I was worried our monastery would become compromised, so I stored the vehicles I've been working on here for safe keeping."

"Vehicles? What vehicles?" Cole asked.

"These!" Pixal said.

She turned on the lights and revealed four color coded vehicles. Kai's was a red 4 wheeler, Zane got a cool fighter jet, Jay got a blue and yellow motorbike, and Cole got a big bulky car. All of the ninja got excited.

"These are amazing Pixal!" Jay said.

"Hope you guys enjoy them." Pixal said.

"Do you think we can use these to get the bounty back?" Zane asked.

"Don't know, but there's one way to find out!" Kai said.

"Cole, are you sure you're up for this?" Seleil asked.

"Relax, I'll be ok." Cole said. "You can come too if you want."

"Sorry, I've got some things to take care of here. I'm gonna go see if I can find out more about these new ninja."

"I'll come with you." Skylor said. "Wanna come Kira?"

"No thanks, I'll stay here with Pixal and keep looking for Lloyd." I said.

"And Wu and I are going back to the library. There may be some scrolls that can tell us how to stop the overlord." Misako said.

"Actually, I would like to assist the ninja." Wu said. "It has been a while since I've adventured."

"Sure, the more the merrier." Cole said letting him in his car.

"You wanna come along with us Nya?" Jay asked.

"Oh, you don't want me to. I'll just slow you down." Nya frowned.

"Of course I want you with me. You're my yang remember?" Jay smiled.

"Well, alright then." Nya smiled and hopped on his bike.

"Good luck guys." I said.

All of the ninja left to go get the bounty back and the others left too. After they left, the screen started to beep and flashing red.

"Pixal, what's going on?" Wu said.

"I'm getting strange energy readings from Primeval's Eye." Pixal said.

"What kind of readings?" I asked.

"It looks like Lloyd's beacon. It's been reactivated!" Pixal said.

"Can you reach him on the communicator?" I asked.

"I can try." Pixal said. "Let me see what I can do."

Lloyd's P.O.V.:

I had made the jump from the temple into the river below. I opened my eyes and saw my father unconscious. I grabbed him and swam with him until I saw a branch and grabbed it. I carried him to the edge of the bank and checked his pulse. He was alive but he wasn't breathing. I pressed on his chest for a few minutes until he finally woke up coughing up water.

"Dad, are you ok?" I asked.

"You hate me, why would you save me?" He asked.

"I'm a ninja, that's my job. Now come on, let's get back to the... oh right."

I started thinking about how the monastery was gone. My friends were gone, everything was gone. Even though we did escape the temple, what was the point if they already took everything from me?

"Here, try this." My dad handed me my communicator.

"What? Where did you get that?"

"Harumi confiscated it, so I stole it back from her."

"I don't condone stealing usually, but I'll make an exception this time." I smiled and took the communicator.

I put it to my ear and turned it on. I hoped it still worked after being underwater so long.

"Guys? Ninja come in. Can anyone hear me?" I asked.

"Lloyd? Is that you?" Pixal's voice came through the coms.

"Pixal? Yes it's me." I smiled.

"Lloyd! Are you ok?" Kira's voice came over the phone.

"Kira! I'm so happy to hear your voice again." I smiled.

"Not as happy as I am to hear yours." Kira said.

"I'm in the middle of Prime Evils Eye with my dad." I told them. "We escaped the temple but we can't get out of here."

"Don't worry, I'll tell the others and they can come pick you up." Pixal said. "Get as far away from the temple as you can."

"Wait, the others? You mean they're ok?" I asked.

"Yes we moved to the old Sam X cave after we lost the monastery."Pixal said. "The others left to go get the bounty back, but I'll tell them to meet you at the cliffs on the west side of the forest. That should be your best bet."

"Ok, thanks Pix." I said. "Wait, one more thing. Did Nya...?"

"She made it out in time. Her mech was almost destroyed, but she got out ok." Kira said.

"Thank goodness." I said with relief.

"I love you Lloyd." Kira said.

"I love you too Kira." I said. "I'll see you later."

I hung up and had to take a breather. Hearing that Nya and my friends ok felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. It gave me the strength I needed to go on.

"The good news is all my friends are ok. The bad news is we're still trapped here." I told my dad. "We have to take shelter before they find us. Can you walk?"

"Not sure." He looked at his leg.

My dad's leg was bleeding a lot. I think the water from the river was making it worse, and I definitely know what that feels like. I took off and my mask, ripped off a piece of it started wrapping it around my dad's leg. Then I saw Harumi flying overhead.

"They're coming." I whispered. "We have to get out of sight."

"Ok."

I helped I took him under my shoulder and helped him walk under a willow tree. We laid low there until we saw their forces passed us. Then I checked and the coast was clear.

"Ok, I think they left." I said. "We need get to the cliffs on the west side of the forest. My friends are going to get the bounty back and meet us there."

"Let's go now, before they send more troops." My dad said.

"Ok, just a minute." I had to catch my breath.

I had been so exhausted since Harumi kidnapped me. I couldn't think straight and I still got dizzy from time to time.

After a few minutes, I was feeling well enough to keep going. I got up and helped my dad stand. We started heading to the west towards the cliffs. We tried our best to stay under the trees but it was a pretty clear path and we couldn't go that fast with my father's leg injury.

I was honestly really tired and dizzy from what Harumi did to me. I tried to stay focused but I needed a break. I ducked my dad under a large tree and stopped to catch my breath.

"What are you doing? We're almost to the cliffs." My dad said.

"You're heavier than you look." I caught my breath. "I... I just needed a minute."

"I'm sorry, I thought the green ninja was supposed to be stronger than that." He crossed his arms.

"Well I am usually but Harumi took a lot out of me." I said breathing.

"Lloyd, come in." Nya said over my communicator.

"Nya? Is that you? It's so relieving to hear your voice." I said.

"Same to you." She said. "We've got the bounty and we're on way to Prime Evils Eye now. Do you think you can make it in half an hour?"

"We're trying but I'm really tired and my Dad's hurt. Don't worry though, we'll figure it out."

"Ok, see you soon." She said.

"Thanks Nya." I hung up.

"What did she say?" My father asked.

"We have thirty minutes to get over there." I said.

"The cliffs are still a ways from here. We need to get going if we're gonna make it in time."

"Yeah, we're leaving now." I stood up. "Let's go."

I helped my dad walk and we started heading for the cliffs again. Once we at the halfway mark, we heard a noise coming from behind us I looked back and saw Harumi running towards us. I grabbed my father and we started running as fast as we could, which wasn't very fast because of my dad's leg.

We kept running away until we hit an incline that sent us downward like a slide. After we avoided the branches and stuff, we both landed in a puddle of mud.

"Lloyd, don't move." My dad said.

"Why? It's just mud." I said.

"No, it's quicksand!" He yelled.

I looked down and realized the quicksand was already up to my waist. I looked around for anything I could grab, but the only ones I saw were just out of reach. I was trying to get out of it. Then I heard someone landing behind us. I looked to see Harumi, now stuck in the quicksand too.

"Dang it!" She yelled. "Well if I have to go down, at least you two will go down with me."

I saw the sword on her back and I got an idea.

"Harumi, give me your sword." I said.

"What? You think I'm stupid?" She protested.

"Do you want to live or not?!" I said.

She rolled her eyes and reluctantly handed me the sword. I turned to the tree, cut a vine down and pulled myself out. Then I pulled out my father and got him to safety.

"Come on Lloyd, let's go." My father said.

"I have to save her first." I looked back at Harumi.

"But, she's been nothing but horrible to you." My father said.

"Yes, she has, but as a ninja, we save everyone." I said. "It's the right thing to do."

I took the vines and threw one end to Harumi. She grabbed it and I pulled her out.

"I hope you're not expecting a thank you." She crossed her arms.

"I don't do this for thanks, I do this to help people." I said.

"Ugh, you're so sappy." She scowled.

"We should at least tie her up so she doesn't report us." My dad said.

"Way ahead of you." I said.

I grabbed the vines and with my dad's help we tied her to a tree.

"You'll never get away with..."

My dad tied her mouth closed with a leaf.

"Relax, your friends will find you here, after we leave." I said. "Come on Dad."

I helped my dad walk and we continued towards the cliffs. We kept going for a few minutes until the cliffs were finally in sight, but then we heard a loud noise coming from behind us.

We looked back to see the council on the backs of flying beast looking over the jungle. I grabbed my father and we started making a run for the cliffs. Just as we got close, the bounty emerged from the cliffs with Nya driving it.

"Lloyd! Jump!" She shouted.

I looked at my dad and tried to hold him but I couldn't, I was too weak.

"Lloyd, just go. I'll keep them busy." My dad said.

"But your leg..." I looked at it.

"I can manage. Go." He said.

I had no choice but to trust my father could handle himself and I tried to jump on the bounty, but I couldn't reach it. I tried to grab the edge but my fingers slipped and I started falling backwards off the cliff.

I thought it was all over until I felt someone grab my hands and we started flying upwards. I looked  up and saw my father flying around with wings and he had horns and four arms. He flew me back to the bounty and set me down on the deck. He then flew back to the battle and held off the council.

I couldn't believe it. My own father actually saved my life, in his Oni form for that matter. Maybe I should have more of an open mind about it.

"Lloyd, are you ok?" Nya asked me.

"Yeah. Thanks Nya." I smiled as I knelt down to catch my breath.

"We gotta get out of here." Wu said.

"No, we have to wait for my father." I said.

I saw my dad up there fighting off the council and their beasts. I looked up and saw the temple flying over the jungle.

"What is that?" Nya asked.

"The Overlord, he's returned." I frowned.

"Cole? Kai? Jay? Zane? Do you copy?" Wu asked through his communicator.

"We copy." Cole answered. "We're standing by when you need us."

"Negative, fall back!" Wu said. "We are not ready for this."

I flagged down my father and he landed on the ship. He turned back to his regular form and looked back at the temple. We took the bounty and retreated back towards the desert. Hopefully we could find a way to stop all this before it was too late.
