Resurrection: Part 1
Lloyd's P.O.V.:
I was handcuffed and Harumi was having her goons detain me while lead me into through the ruins of the destroyed palace. I didn't know where she was taking me, but I guessed it was no where good.
Harumi was quietly singing as we approached the rafters of the palace. She now wore her white hair down with a leather outfit and her face had blood red mask painted on her face, at least I hope that was paint.
"So this is your face without the mask? No wonder you covered it." I taunted.
"Bite your tongue green ninja!" She faced me and yelled. "The fight is all but over."
"Where are you taking me?!" I demanded.
"Trapped in the palace of secrets all my life, it gave me times to make a few... alterations." We continued walking up the stairs. "Yes I destroyed the palace, but I was careful not to damage the temple of resurrection."
We went up to this giant temple. And there were goons doing construction everywhere. Almost as if they were preparing for something.
"I gotta say, your plan is well thought out, but you made one mistake. My friends will come for me, and when they do you'll be sorry."
"Let them come!" She shouted. "If anyone tries to stop me, I always have my insurance policy."
She pointed to the part of the courtyard and to my surprise it was my mother. She was being pushed into an iron cage.
"Mom!"
"Lloyd." Mom screamed. They pulled up her cage on this weird pully thing. "She's crazy! She wants to bring back your father."
"I've been so looking forward to this, family reunion." Harumi smiled.
"Let her go! This is between us!" I yelled as I struggled to get lose from the guards.
"No Lloyd." She looked at me. "There was never anything between us."
I looked down and tried not to let her see me cry.
"It hurts doesn't it?" She came closer to me. "Nothing's more painful than a blow to the heart. We found her after she tracked down young Wu. How helpful." She turned to her minions. "Prepare the ceremony, we begin at nightfall."
"I won't let you get away with this!" I snapped.
"Oh I almost forgot." She took my arm and pulled it so far behind me it dislocated my shoulder. "Gotta make sure you don't escape."
"Ahh!" I dropped to my knees in pain as she finally let go.
"Lloyd!" My mother panicked. "Get your hands off him!"
They ignored her and started beating me down left and right. If I fought back, my mother could've gotten hurt and I couldn't risk that. I had to take their beatings without any hesitation. I held out as long as I could before I passed out...
I was slowly beginning to open my eyes. I was in the vingestone cage adjacent to my mother's. I slightly moved to try and stand up but everything hurt. I looked down and the bandana around my leg was bloody again, my shoulder hurt so bad I couldn't move it and I was dizzy and couldn't see straight. They might've given me a black eye too and I was covered in bruises and scratches all over.
"Lloyd!" My mother had been screaming my name trying to get me to wake up.
"Relax Mom, I'm fine." The last thing I wanted was for her to be worried about me. "Are you alright?"
"Don't worry about me." She said noticing the bandana around my leg and my injured shoulder. "What about you? Are you hurt?"
"It's fine, nothing too serious." I said, even though my arm felt like it was about to fall off.
"Lloyd that looks really bad." She worried.
"Mom it's alright, she was just trying to scare you." I told her. "I'm alright, really. You don't need to worry about me."
I tried to stand up and show her that I was ok, but my leg hurt even worse than before Kira healed it.
Oh my gosh, Kira! I hoped she was doing alright. I saw her escape with the others when they were in the forest, I just hope they got her somewhere safe.
"Lloyd don't stand up, your hurt." My mom said taking off her scarf and throwing it into my cage. "Here, use this."
I wrapped the scarf around my arm to make a sling for my shoulder. I was still in pain, but it felt better.
"Is that better?" She asked.
"I'm good now, thank you." I told her. "How long has she had you locked up?"
"It's only been a few weeks." She told me. "The second I found Wu they turned on me and locked me up. I don't know what became of him."
"Don't worry, Wu's safe with the others. They betrayed me too." I sighed and looked away. "I'm so sorry."
"It's ok son, this isn't your fault." Mom assured me.
"Yes it is." I frowned. "I helped her get the last mask. She was going to hurt my friends if I didn't go with her, and now thanks to me she'll get what she wants. Thousands of innocent people will suffer all because of me!"
"Don't be so hard on yourself." Mom said. "It's hard to know who you can trust. The only thing you're guilty of is caring about your friends."
"But why didn't I notice it before?" I grew frustrated. "She never loved me, she was only using me. I fell right into her trap."
"Lloyd listen to me, that man she wants to bring back is not your father." Mom frowned. "Unlike him, he will show you no mercy."
"And thanks to me, she'll get away with it."
"Don't give up hope Lloyd. I'm sure your friends will know what to do."
"I hope you're right." I frowned.
Nya's P.O.V.:
Since Harumi took the bounty, and Lloyd, the rest of us we're stuck in the middle of Prime Evil's Eye with no way out. Not to mention that ship had all of our belongings on it including all our food and supplies.
Kira, the girl from before, decided to stay with us and help us out. She was actually pretty cool, plus with Lloyd not here we needed all the help we could get.
"Great, just great." Jay was having one of his episodes again and was pacing back and forth. "We lost our ship, Harumi took Lloyd to do who knows what to him, Zane's still hurt, and now we have no way out of this stupid jungle which is probably filled with hungry creatures waiting to eat us! I'm too cute to be eaten!"
"Does he always do that?" Our new friend Kira asked me.
"Some days are better than others." I sighed.
"Sorry for roping you into this Kira." Cole apologized. "But you're safer with us than you are by yourself."
"That's really ok, I needed more adventure anyway." Kira said. "It looks to me that you guys could use all the help you can get."
"What were you doing out in this forest anyway." Kai asked.
"Oh, my father disappeared in this forest a little after I was born." Kira answered. "He had gone in to map the area but never came back. I was raised by my grandmother most of my life, but then she died not to long ago so I've been out here exploring the forest on my own."
"Hey wasn't Lloyd telling us about something like that?" Cole remembered.
"Now that you mention it, I remember that too." I recalled. "His name was doctor Yost or something."
"Yeah that's my last name!" Kira exclaimed. "What else did he say about him?"
"That he and his mother were friends, but that was about it." I told her. "That's all we know."
"If Kira's father couldn't make it out, what makes you think we can?" Jay whined.
"Jay!" I yelled.
"Oops, sorry Kira." He apologized. "I didn't mean to..."
"It's ok Jay, don't worry about it." Kira said.
I noticed Kai was being strangely quiet, especially given our situation. He was sitting on a log facing the opposite direction of where we were. He only did that when he was sad.
"Kai?" I said walking up to him.
"I'm fine sis." He said not even looking my way.
"You're my brother, I know you better than that." I set down next to him. "What's wrong?"
"Lloyd was hurt when Jay and I found him." He sighed. "Harumi cut his leg pretty bad and now we have no way to stop her."
"I thought Kira healed him." I said, remembering what Kira had told us about her encounter with Lloyd.
"Yeah but he was still hurt when he got on the ship, and now he's who knows where and we're just sitting here talking." He frowned. "He gave himself up to save us, and we that wouldn't have happened if we didn't leave him alone in the forest."
"Kai, you can't blame yourself for what happened to him. That was his decision." I said putting a hand on his shoulder. "If it were you, you would've done the same for us."
"I know." He sighed.
"How's you're hand?" I asked.
Jay accidentally stabbed it with a fork trying to catch a meatball the other day. Kai forgave him but his hand was still hurting him from time to time.
"It still hurts, but it feels better. Although I don't think I'll be sitting by Jay next spaghetti night." He laughed.
"I don't blame you." I laughed.
"Guys." Cole ran up to us. "Kira has an idea on how to get us home."
Kai and I followed Cole back to the others. We waited to hear Kira's idea. She put her hand in her mouth and whistled, then we heard something big running towards us. It turned out to be a giant scorpion-crab creature.
"What is that thing?!" Jay freaked out.
"Relax, this is Crabby." Kira said petting the big animal. "He's going to be our ticket out of here."
"Wait, we're gonna ride that?" Kai said.
"Calm down, I've ridden Crabby thousands of times." Kira explained. "He can get us back to the city in no time."
"If it can get us to Lloyd, than we do not have any other choice." Pixal said.
"Good thinking Kira." Zane smiled.
We all got on the back of the creature. Kira took the reigns and lead us back into the city. We first took the backstreets because the place was crawling with SOG members.
"Do we have any ideas where she might've taken Lloyd?" Kira asked us.
"No, we've gotta split up and search the city." Kai suggested.
"No, If we split up we'll be easier to catch." Cole said holding Wu.
"Crabby!" Baby Wu made grabby hands at the creature.
"I'm picking up some unusual activity from the ruins of the Palace of Secrets." Pixal told us.
"Then that's where we're going." Kai stated.
"Um, are you forgetting that the streets are crawling with the SOG?" Cole reminded us. "If we go out there we're gonna get spotted for sure."
"And are you forgetting that Harumi still has Lloyd?" Kai crossed his arms.
"Kai calm down, we'll find a way." I said.
"Wait, my falcon!" Zane remembered. He put out his arm and his falcon came out of it. "He can fly into the palace unnoticed."
[Author's note: picture the falcon from seasons 4-7, not the SOG one.]
"Good idea, but are you sure you are up for it?" Pixal asked. "Your falcon vision may compromise the recent damage done to your neural processor."
"If it means saving Lloyd, then it is worth it." He told her. "Go on little friend."
The falcon flew off and went to go see if it could find Lloyd. I hoped that we could find him soon.
Lloyd's P.O.V.:
I was standing in the cage watching the SOG set up for whatever they had going on tonight. It was almost sundown and there was no sign of my friends. I was starting to loose hope about them finding me. I wanted to kick down the bars and try to escape, but I knew if I tried anything Harumi might hurt my mother. At any time she could lower the cage into the lake and drown either one of us, and I've put her through too much already.
My leg was killing me and I still couldn't move my shoulder at all. I was messing around with my sling trying to get it to stop hurting, but nothing worked. If anything it just made it hurt worse. My mom noticed me struggling.
"Lloyd, stop that." Mom frowned, she looked so tired. "It's best to keep that shoulder still."
"I know Mom, I'll try." I sighed. "Are you ok?"
"Don't worry about me son." She said yawning. "I'm just a little tired."
"Mom don't lie to me. You're exhausted. I can see it in your eyes." I sighed. "I feel terrible."
"For what?"
"For... falling in love with her." I frowned.
"It'll be ok son." My mother said. "Broken hearts get better over time."
"But it never goes away completely." I sighed.
"It will, give it time." Mom said.
As I was watching the sunset, I saw a very familiar looking bird fly past. The hope inside me came back as I recognized Zane's falcon. It landed beside me and I looked into the camera in his eyes.
I knew that it wouldn't be able to pick up any sound, and I had to act like it was a normal bird so Harumi wouldn't try anything.
Once the falcon flew away, I knew we were saved. They knew where we were now and I was sure they would be here any minute, that is if they didn't get captured first.
I continued to keep my leg off the ground as much as I could and kept my shoulder still like my mom suggested. I knew it wouldn't do much, but I knew doing it would calm her down.
"Relax Mom, they'll come save us." I told her.
"I know son." She weakly smiled at me.
To be continued...
