New Beginnings

Lloyd's P.O.V.:

**********Flashback**********

I was just finishing the fight with my father. He had gotten tired of my resisting, and the fight no longer fueled him. He dropped to knees and screamed. Then I got my elemental power back.

"You still have to finish it." He said.

"No." I said as I toned down my powers and stepped closer. "It's over."

"It's not over, but when they come it will be." He started. "My power was the only thing that could battle back the darkness from devouring us all, but you took that away. And now everything will be gone."

"Who will come?" I asked.

"You'll see." He said. "And when they come, nothing will be left."

******End of Flashback******

My father's warning had been keeping me up at night. Considering we just ended his reign a few weeks ago, I hadn't been getting much sleep.

My father wanted to speak to me about something and he said it was urgent, so I was on my way to Kryptarian Prison getting ready to talk to him. I was so tired from the lack of sleep that Kira insisted on coming with me. The only way I would let her come was if she waited outside while I talked to him. Now that she was officially my girlfriend, I wanted to protect her. If anything ever happened to her, I would never forgive myself.

"Here we are." Kira said as we walked up to Kryptarian. "Are you sure you don't want me to go in with you?"

"No thanks. My father told me to come alone and if he ever hurt you I don't know what I'd do." I said. Then I yawned.

"Are you ok?"

"Yeah, I'm just sleep deprived. Maybe once my father explains what he meant I can finally get some sleep." I yawned again.

"Be careful." She warned. "I love you."

"I love you too."

I gave her a hug and then I went inside. The commissioner lead me to my father. He made me go in the room alone and walked along the long bridge leading to his cell.

"Hello Father." I crossed my arms.

"I'm surprised to see you here without your girlfriend." He said.

"This isn't about her." I said. "Besides, you sent for me."

"Did I?" He scratched his chin. "That doesn't sound like me. I have all the time in the world in here."

"Fine, then I guess I'll just..."

"Oh wait, I remember now. I did call for you." He said. "Do you remember the last thing I said to you the last time we saw each other? That when they come, nothing will be left?"

"You said something was coming." I recalled.

"Yes, but you didn't listen. And now I'm afraid there isn't much time."

"Time for what?" I asked.

"To prepare for the darkness, destruction, the end of Ninjago!" He screamed. "And, while I'm ok with that in principle, I'd rather not be destroyed along with you. So I've decided to help you fight them."

"Fight who?"

"The bringers of doom." He said. "You and your color coded little ninja are no match. There's only one thing that could stop them."

"Let me guess, you?" I crossed my arms.

He laughed. "Let me out, and you might have a chance."

"Hmm, how do I put this? NO! N-O! Not if you were the last person in all of Ninjago!" I turned around and began to walk away. "There is nothing you can say to make me trust you every again! Goodbye."

"You'll be back." I heard him say before I left the room.

I made my way out of the building and went back outside to meet Kira.

I had a surprise planned for her after we were done, I was planning to take her out on our first official date. We had been trying to do that since everything got back to normal, but we had been so busy helping repair the city, we hadn't really had much time to do anything else. And any time we did get a free second I was too tired. I just wanna give Kira the nice date she deserves.

"What did your father say?" She asked me.

"Oh um, nothing important." I lied. The last thing I wanted was to drag her into another ninja problem. "So I'm kinda hungry. How about we get something to eat on the way back?"

"Lloyd Montgomery Garmadon, are you asking me on our first official date?" She blushed.

"I hate that my friends told you my middle name." I sighed.

"Aww I think it's cute." She giggled and I blushed. "And I would love to."

"Great, I know the best place."

We got into my car and I started driving. Nya tricked it out so that it could carry a passenger and I was glad she did.

As I was driving I kept thinking about what my father was saying. What did he mean by 'the darkness is coming?' I couldn't get it off my mind.

"Lloyd?" Kira snapped me out of my thoughts. I realized the car was starting to swerve a little.

"Oh sorry Kira." I apologized and focused back on the road.

"You know, if you're too tired we can go another time." She said. "I really don't mind."

"No it's nothing, I was just thinking about something." I told her.

"What about?"

"It's not important, just a stupid video game level I'm stuck on." I lied. "Besides, today is about you and me."

"I told you I was fine if you wanted to..."

"No way, I'm feeling alright." I told her. "Besides, if we don't do this now then we may never get the chance again. In case some ninja business comes up you know?"

"Ok but if you need some rest tell me. Deal?"

"Deal." I agreed. "I just hope nothing crazy happens this time."

Cole's P.O.V.:

I was driving with Zane, Pixal and Seliel in the earth driller. We were on our way to the harbor because the mayor said that the city had a present for us. Unfortunately, we were stuck in traffic. I kept honking the horn.

"You can keep honking if you want, but it's not going to do anything." Seliel shook her head.

"But we're so late!" I exclaimed.

"We were supposed to be there thirty minutes ago." Zane complained.

"This thing has an enormous drill on it. Can we not just go under them?" Pixal asked.

"Ooo can we?" I turned on the drill, but it made the drivers around us uneasy.

"I do not think the city would appreciate that." Zane said. "They have just finished rebuilding this freeway."

"But we're so late! And I can see the harbor right there!" I pointed to it.

"That's it, I'm getting out." Pixal said as she flipped the roof up and jumped out.

"Alright, now you're talking!" Seliel followed.

Zane jumped out too and they all started making their way to the harbor. I stood up and realized that my foot had fallen asleep.

I kept telling them to wait up, but they didn't hear me. They were too far ahead. I continued to run as fast as I could and at one point I had to duck through a car.

As I exited, I looked into the rearview mirror. I should have seen my reflection but I didn't. It wasn't showing up.

"Not again. Not again." I whispered to myself.

"Cole?" Seliel called for me from a distance.

"I'm coming!" I yelled to her.

I ignored the mirror and kept running. Eventually my foot woke up and I caught a ride to the harbor with the others.

To our surprise, they gave us the exact replica of the Destiny's Bounty. It was perfect.

Jay's P.O.V.:

"Nya, I've been wanting to ask you this for... a long time." I knelt down and pulled out the medallion. "Will you... be my yang?"

"No no no! You can't ask like that." Kai said.

"Why not?" I asked.

"You need to ask with confidence."

He showed me the way he would do it, and it was a bit too cocky for my taste. I could never pull that off.

"Hey guys." Nya walked in on us wearing the most beautiful gown I've ever seen.

Kai quickly hid the medallion behind his back before Nya could see it.

"What are you guys doing?" She asked.

"Umm... wondering where you got that shirt?" I smiled. "I want one!"

"It's a kimono, Jay. A traditional gown worn by women." She laughed.

"Guys can wear them too." I said.

"So where's master Wu?" Kai asked, trying to change the subject.

"He's outside supervising the new mural." Nya said.

We were all outside looking at the mural when we looked up at the sky. A giant portal appeared and a dragon with two people riding it came through it and crashed at the bottom of the mountain.

"That looked like Firstbourne." Kai noticed.

We all ran down to see an exhausted dragon. When Firstbourne unwrapped her wings, she revealed Faith and Echo. Faith was exhausted and she was bleeding from her arm. Echo was shorting out and was nearly offline.

"Call Kira, now!" Wu told Nya.

two hours later...

Lloyd's P.O.V.:

Wu had called us all to the monastery about Faith and Echo saying they needed Kira right away. Just my luck something like this would happen when we were trying to have our first date, but as always the fate of Ninjago comes first.

"They'll be ok Lloyd." Nya sat down next to me.

"I know." I sighed.

"Something's bothering you. What is it?" She asked.

"It's just that Kira and I were about to go on our first date when we got the call. I mean I knew another adventure wasn't far off in the future, but I don't want it to seem like I'm too wrapped up in my life as a ninja that I can't be the boyfriend she wants me to be." I sighed. "How do you and Jay make it look so easy?"

"I guess since we're both on the team, we're together all the time anyway." She answered.

"I'm just worried that if I don't make enough time for her, she might not want to be with me anymore." I frowned. "Am I crazy?"

"You're not crazy Lloyd, that's actually really sweet that you care that much about her." She smiled. "But this is Kira we're talking about. She stuck by you through a literal apocalypse. You don't do that unless you're really committed."

"I guess you're right. Thanks Nya."

"Of course."

Kira exited the monastery after trying to heal Faith with her powers. I caught her as she almost fell over and set her down in a chair. I knelt down next to her to make sure she was ok. She looked so exhausted.

"Are they ok?" Cole asked.

"Zane is tending to Echo now." Kira told us as she caught her breath. "As for Faith, I managed to stop the bleeding in her arm and she'll need a lot of rest but she should back on her feet again soon."

"Thank you Kira." Wu said. "Both Faith and Firstbourne will be ok. Zane has said Echo will recover as well."

"Did they say what happened?" Nya asked.

"They said... the darkness was coming." Wu said.

"My father warned me about this. He called them the bringers of doom." I said.

"I thought you said he didn't tell you anything important." Kira frowned.

"I thought he was lying to me so I would let him out of prison." I said. "How was I supposed to know he was telling the truth this time?"

"He was."

Echo limped out of the monastery and he looked terrible. Zane ran behind him worried.

"Brother please, you must rest." Zane insisted.

"I'm fine, t-they need to hear this." He said. "They came out of nowhere. Everyone that was touched by it w-was turned to stone almost instantly. They've taken over m-most of the realms and if they get to Ninjago, a-all will... be l-lost."

Echo started to spark and glitch as he held his chest. Zane caught him before he hit the ground and took him back inside for more repairs.

"I really hope Echo's going to be ok." Seliel said.

"Don't worry, he will." Kira said before she started coughing.

"Are you alright?" I asked her.

"I'm fine Lloyd, just tired." She yawned and held her head. "That just took a lot out of me, that's all."

"Lloyd, did your father really say the bringers of doom are coming?" Wu asked.

"Yes." I said. "What is it Master?

"Come, I must show you all something." He said as he ran into the monastery.

I helped Kira walk and we all followed him into the monastery. He pulled a book from the shelf and turned it to a certain page. The picture on it looked like some kind of dark creature. I couldn't explain it, but I felt a strange connection with it.

"These creatures have been going from realm to realm, destroying everything in their path." Wu explained. "I'm afraid, that when they come, nothing will be left."

"When they come, nothing will be left." My father's words echoed in my head.

I groaned and held my head. I didn't want it to be true, but it looked like we were out of options.

"You ok Lloyd?" Kira noticed me.

"It pains me to say it, but it looks like my father was telling the truth." I sighed.

"Lloyd you can't seriously be considering setting him free." Jay said.

"Yeah, why don't we see what we're really up against before we do anything we might regret." Nya said.

"I don't think you'll have to wait long." Zane frowned, holding up his phone. "I have intercepted multiple distress calls from the police station. Almost all of them say something about a dark cloud turning people to stone."

"Then what are we waiting for? We need to go save those people." I stated.

"Wait." We all turned around to see Echo standing in the doorway. "I-I am coming too."

"That is not recommended brother." Zane shook his head. "You should be resting."

"It was not a request." He said sternly. "T-those monsters will pay for what they have done."

"Fine, but try not to push yourself too hard." Zane said.

Echo nodded and we all made our way to the new Bounty the city gave us. Wu and my mother decided to stay at the monastery to look after Faith and Firstbourne. It was impressively accurate to the original Bounty, except that someone wired the thrust lever wrong, but I'm sure that won't lead to something terrible.

We started flying and our adventure had begun. I was upset I didn't get my first date with Kira, but as always, the city has to come first.
