Irony

Jack woke up one morning hungry as ever. Mark made him a big breakfast and decided that they would go to the park.

Dark glowered as he jumped down from the tree in the park. It had been three days. He was following he scent of his virus, but for some reason it completely disappeared one night. It had worried Dark, did scientists find the body in the river and track it straight to his Anti? Was his Anti being stored like he was when he first met him?

Dark pulled on a jacket that he took from one of the dead bodies in the trees. Was he storing bodies for no reason now?

Dark sighed, he wouldn't stop until he found his virus' body. It was too important to him to just drop it all now. He looked at his hands to see the last sign of the burns disappear. He remember that he was neglecting himself while he was looking for Anti. He was glad he was fully recovered now. He could look more quickly for Anti now.

Mark and Jack got out of Mark's car and they walked into the park. Jack frowned smelling the air. There was a smell that was like something was burning and of black licorice. Jack looked at Mark questioning.

"Are you wearing any calone (MALE PERFUME)?" Jack asked as Mark walked next to him

"No why?" Mark answers Jack wondering why in the world did he ask that.

"Something smells like black licorice and it actually smells good. I was just wondering if it was you." Jack's accent came out thicker than usual and he covered his mouth as he realized that wasn't him talking. He winced as he felt a pain in his head.

"Gee than Jack I guess I should start smelling like black licorice more often!" Mark closed his eyes laughing, scratching the back of his neck and once he looked back over at Jack, he noticed that it was Anti smiling deviously back at him.

"Hello Markimoo!" Anti laughed as he used Jack's nickname for Mark.

"Anti. Bring Jack back!" Mark growled at the virus softly trying not to catch anyone's attention.

"Not right now." Anti said casually as they walked.

"I actually wanted to take a walk today!" Anti laughs than he stops feeling his stomach twist and turn. He suddenly felt sick and he looked around for a trash can. He soon as he spotted one he felt like he was going to be sick. He ran over to the trash can not realizing that Mark was talking to him.

"Hey!" Mark shouted seeing Anti run off and puke into a trash can. Mark went over to him surprised. When Anti was finished puking he looked scared.

"Hey, Anti are you okay?" Mark asked softly touching his back.

"W-what's happening to me?" Anti asked himself seeing a green tint to his hands.

Hearing the commotion behind him and  trying to find Anti, Dark turned around to see someone puking into a trash can and someone who looked like him.

"Anti?!" Dark said rushing over to them. Once Anti was done throwing up he got a strong smell of black licorice, but he felt so weak to turn around and look.

"Mark, what's happening? Please help me!" Anti said looking at Mark clinging onto his shirt

"Hold on Anti, I'll take you home." Mark said helping Anti stand

"Anti!" Dark shouted running over to them.

"Dark!" Anti seeing the demon, he let go of the human, but his legs were too weak to keep him up. Mark kept his grip on him not letting him fall. Dark growled at Mark taking the virus from him.

"Dark... what's wrong with me?" Anti asked terrified clinging onto his demon.  The smell of black licorice flooded Anti's mind as he leaned against Dark.

"Just hang in there Anti." Dark said picking up the sick virus and he glowered at Mark than spoke again.

"Where do you live?" Dark asked staring into Mark's eyes. Mark didn't even think he saw this Dark person blink. He looked at Anti remembering that Anti was in Jack's body and quickly showed Dark the way to his car. Dark got into the backseat with Anti. Mark over heard them as he drove home.

"It's ok my dear pet, I'm hear now." Dark spoke softly as he kept Anti in his lap.

"They kept saying you weren't here and that you were dead." Anti said weakly smiling.

"I knew that you were alive." Anti cuddled into Dark.

"Hey Anti, I got something for you." Dark said and he pulled out Anti's shock collar.

"My collar!" Anti was so happy he thought he lost it he let Dark put it on him and his eyes began to droop.

"Dark... I feel, so tired." Anti spoke so quietly Mark almost couldn't hear him.

"You can sleep Anti, I'm right here. I'll always be here and I won't leave you again." Dark said petting Anti's hair like he was some lost dog he had just found. Mark heard them go quiet and he guessed that Anti fell asleep. Mark was going to stay quiet for the rest of the ride until he heard Dark talk to him.

"Have you been taking care of Anti?" Dark's voice went from soft to rough and edged.

"Yeah, or at least I've been trying to when he and Jack weren't fighting." Mark answered not wanting to anger him.

"Has he been feeding?" Dark asks like it was a casual question.

"Well, after I found him and brought him home he had fed on the move that had infested my house well that was until Jack came than they fought and Anti body jacked Jack and he seemed to be fine." Mark said than Dark cut him off by growling.

"No wonder he's sick like this! He hasn't been eating!"

"It's not completely my fault! Jack wouldn't let him leave the house to feed and when we were out looking for you Anti tried to eat, but said that he felt weird." Mark said looking at his counterpart through the mirror.

"I turned my back to him while he fed because I knew it was killing people and I was letting it happen. But I did it because if you're anything like me, you don't want anything to happen to your Jack." Mark said as he drove

"His name is Anti. Only those scientists who kept him in that lab called him Jack." Dark said roughly as he kept petting Anti's hair.

"So... uh, how close are you and Anti?" Mark couldn't help but ask.

"He's my pet. I shelter and feed him and he helps protect me. Although at some times he can be a disappointment, we are each other's only friends. No one else understood us until we met each other in that lab that day. It's been 6 years since that day and not a day goes by that's uneventful." Dark said watching Anti sleep than he remembered something.

"Oh and by the way you might want to stay out of the house for the rest of the day." Dark said with a smirk

"Why's that?" Mark was fully curious of his counterparts explanation

"Anti needs to feed and I've been storing bodies away for the past few days for Anti to feed on. Since they've been dead some of them have started to decay." Dark stated

"I should just drop you two off on the side of the road." Mark groaned thinking of how long it will take to get the stench of dead bodies out of the house. As Mark pulled into his driveway he looked back at Dark.

"If in any way Jack is hurt because of Anti I'll personally hunt both of you down." Mark glared into the black and red eyes. Dark laughed only hearing an empty threat and stepped out of the car. He picked Anti up and carried him inside.
