Her arms wrapped around that bundle of joy
Her eyes filled with tears as she called it her own
The name was so perfect for such a beautiful baby
She once again felt that she wasn't alone

She walked through the door with her baby in her arms
She greeted her husband with a smile
He caressed the tiny face in front of him
He hadn't seen his baby for a while

And as she looked in the corner
At that picture of the two smiling friends
One with blonde hair, one with black
She remembered how the brunette's smile faltered at her end

Her husband saw her expression
And wrapped his arm around her waist
A child with dark hair and blue eyes
"Caroline," she whispered, "this time I know you'll stay."

A/N: thank you guys so much for reading this story!!! It's been such an experience to write it. I realize I left the end slightly unclear, so it's just up to the reader to interpret:) This story has meant so much to me and I didn't see any other way to communicate it except in poetry. Ive never read or written a poetry story before, so I hope this story is one of a kind, like me lol.
