1/الف
This is the complete first chapter. It continues after the sneak peak where the three lines are marked but I would recommend reading it from the start to get the flow.
Thank you and enjoy.

Two men stood in the broad street, one with brown hair and the other with black. Both tall but the one with the brown head was a couple of inches taller. A sleek silver car stood by the black metal gates, two bats hovering above them in the darkness of the sky, the silver night enveloping everything in its cloak as they both talked.
Both were alarmed when they heard a scream followed by quick footsteps and light giggles.
The one with the brown hair which fell into his eyes ran a hand through them, quickly turning around as two figures quickly ran out, one trying to catch the other, not noticing his presence.
The brown haired one let his grey eyes close which seemed silver in the twilight, hands forming fists as he followed the giggling and screaming duo.
"Dua! What are you doing? Are you a child? It's middle of the night and you are running around in the streets!"
Ali's fuming voice quietened Dua down and Amna who was trying to catch her, quickly grabbed her hand in triumph.
Dua ignored Amna's cry of victory and turned around, her pin straight black hair reflecting the moonlight while her chocolate brown eyes glowed in the golden lights of the large street lamps, a frown appearing on her face when she heard Ali.
He walked closer to them both, glaring at his younger sister, Amna, which made her run back inside while he directed his glare at the nineteen year old girl standing before him.
"Nazar kamzor hai ya andhi ho? Nazar nahi aaraha mera dost kharra hai? Dupatta lo aur andar jao."
(Are you blind or weak-sighted?
Can't you see my friend standing there? Cover your head and go inside.)
He kept his voice low because of the presence of his black-haired friend and walked back to him.
Then, in the darkness of the night the brown of her eyes melted into a black ocean, the moon residing within them as she walked back inside, her gait confident as the black net of her dupatta covered her hair and her lissome fingers held it up to veil her face loosely, only her eyes that glared at him, the bridge of her nose and a few rebellious strands of her her hair visible.

She went back inside and Ali turned to his friend when he heard the large iron gates closing.
"Who was this?"
Ali eyed Sikandar for a second and then shook his head, pining his hard gaze on the mischievous smile on his face.
"Sochna bhi nah."
(Don't even think about it.)

After saying sending his friend off, Ali quickly ran inside, already aware of the hell she would have raised inside.
When he entered, his mother was already standing there with a rolling pin in her hand.
"Ali,What am I hearing? You scolded her in front of your friend?"
Ali smiled at his mother, his mischievous eyes roaming around the living room to land on Dua, who was standing there with her hands on her hips.
"Ammi, It was Sikander. Wouldn't have done it in front of anyone else. And do you know, she was running in the street! In this middle of nowhere, someone could've kidnapped them!"
Dua sat down on the dining table, with everyone else already seated, saying loudly,
"Yeah so Amna was with me. You didn't scold her! And Khaala, Lala jee was sitting outside!"
Ali shook his head at her reference to their guard who they called lala. Also dragging his chair at the dining table, he said,
"Go on, put the whole blame on that innocent child. Obviously, you are older, you should know better. Lekin tum tau khud abhi apnay aap ko bachi samajhti ho."
(But you still consider yourself a child.)
Dua started fuming.
"Khaala! Rok lein issay."
(Khaala! Stop him!")
Her Khaala shook her head, putting the last bowl of salad on the table, eyeing everyone else who were watching both of them bickering with attention.
"Shut up both of you and start eating. Both of you are at fault."
Then they started eating, eyeing each other with contempt.

Dua had decided to spend her holidays with everyone here at the farmhouse even though Jannat and Ibraheem were not coming. They had a tradition where both of the families spent the holidays together when they were younger. Khaala's family had bought this farmhouse near the hills two years ago and came here in every summer. Dua couldn't do it for the past couple of years but Dua now, her cousin Hoorain was getting married and she wanted to spend as much time with her as possible.
This huge farmhouse, in middle of vast farms, lush green plants and clear sky was their heaven.
And a huge part of this heaven was Ali. He was behind all those laughters, those midnight trips to the grocery stores, the gol gappa competitions and the midnight car racing with the windows down.
It had only been two days since she arrived here but Dua loved this place with all her heart.
It was nearly two in the night and nearly everyone was sleeping or trying to sleep when Dua went to the kitchen to make tea. She was just like that, she would crave something and then she'd try to cook it, even in the middle of the night.
Putting the tea leaves in the boiling water, she turned to get sugar when she saw a figure beside the fridge in the darkness of the night.
Her mouth opened to let out a piercing scream but before she could do it, it was muffled and her wide eyes met his grey ones.
Running her eyes on his face, she assured herself that it was him and then slapped hard on his shoulder, yanking his hand away from her mouth as he laughed.
"Choti si bachi darr gayi?."
(The little child got scared.)
"Jaahil. Kya takleef hai tumhey? Jinn bann kar kiyun bhatak rahay ho?"
(Stupid. What is your problem? Why are you roaming around like ghosts.)
In his white T-shirt and pyjama pants, his hair mussed, he looked very soft. Those eyes twinkled as he leaned against the cupboards lazily, placing his hands on the shelf.
"Yahan such mai jinn hain."
(There are actual ghosts here.)
Dua rolled her eyes.
"Yeah, yeah. I know."
"Make me a cup of tea, too."
"Meri jooti bana kar deti hai."
(Yeah sure, in your dreams.)
"Tumahara boyfriend soya nahi abhi tak?"
(Didn't your boyfriend sleep yet?)
Dua turned to face him fully at his question, her slim frame tucked into a black silk night suit and hair resting on her shoulders.
"Mera kon?" (My what?)
"Obviously, you have a boyfriend. Itni masoom tau nahi ho tum."
(You are not that innocent.)
She wanted to poke the spoon she was holding into his evil eyes. Those eyes were satan's, she thought.
"Haan haan tum tau doodh k dhulay huay ho nah.
(You're saying it like you are as innocent as a lamb)
I know how many girlfriends you have."
"Really? Then you should sympathise with me. Itni zyada larkion ko aik saath kaabu karna kitna mushkil hai meri jaisay masoom k liye.
(See how tough it is to handle so many girls at once for a innocent guy like me.)"
Now she wanted jab a knife through that straight nose. It was weird how it wasn't even a tiny bit crooked.
" Uff. Boht ahsaan kar rahay ho tum tau iss dunya par.Saari museebat khud paal li."
(Right. You are blessing the world by taking all the responsibilities on your own shoulders.)
He shrugged his shoulder and Dua noticed his focuses gaze on herself when he raised an eyebrow,
"You didn't deny it."
"Deny what?"
Dua noticed there was a strand of hair falling in front on his left eye and her hand itched to brush it back.
It was because she hated having hair on her own face. Really.
"That you have a boyfriend."
She leaned her head back, pouring the tea into a black mug, while she said,
"Oh come on! I don't have a boyfriend."
He was close to her suddenly, his head bent a little and Dua looked up at his eyes that were mysteriously sad.
"I..."
His voice broke down and Dua felt his hand brush a strand of her dark hair away.
She would have screamed normally if he had tried to touch but that sadness in his stormy eyes had mystified her. She stared into his eyes, watched as the grey mixed with black and then it looked like it was translucent as the golden light from the window fell into them. Her eyelids begged her to blink but her eyes were drowning.
"I don't believe you, churail." (witch)
Dua came back to her senses in a second but it was too late. He had her mug of tea in his hand as he winked and went away in a matter of mini-seconds.
Did he just successfully seduce her?
