As soon as the five of them landed through the window on the top floor, they were greeted by a startled group of Avengers, who'd been sitting on the floor by the wall, Strange and Loki's magic still binding them. Immediately they saw Stephen, then Wanda and Scott, then someone they vaguely recognised from ages ago, then... some pale red guy?
Stephen sighed in relief. Their heads weren't on fire!
"Um, hi Avengers," Strange started awkwardly. Did they remember he was the one who'd tied them up?
"Why are we tied up?" asked Clint, clearly baffled.
"Um, long story," Stephen said. "I'll just fix that for you." He waved his hand and the magic ropes disappeared. Loki did the same thing for Clint's.
"I'll just be taking Mephisto down to prison," Loki informed him, nudging Strange first for his attention. He grinned at the Avengers. "Hi."
Stephen watched Loki half-lead, half-drag Mephisto towards the lift (which had miraculously fixed itself and was no longer out of order) hoping he'd never have to see him again. At least he knew he was in capable hands with Loki.
Someone coughed to get his attention. It was Sam, the Falcon.
"Mind explaining what happened? And where's Carol?"
It was then that Scott remembered about his famous DKLS Jam Jar. He fumbled around in his pockets and pulled it out. Captain Marvel was herself again, but she was buzzing around angrily, no doubt wondering why she was stuck in a jam jar. He unscrewed it, readied his growing gun, then took careful aim and Carol was her own normal size again, short hair sticking up statically.
"What the heck just happened?!" she demanded of Stephen. Thankfully she was shocked rather than angry, or the walls might now be painted in wizard, witch and ant.
"Uh..." Strange started, speechless. Where the hell did he start?
"Sit down and we'll explain everything," Wanda promised.
Stephen decided, despite everything he'd denied before, that he really did love Wanda for that.
