Memories

"Hagar what is the meaning of this?!" Lotors voice roared.

"Sire-" "silence witch! You lied to me Hagar, the paladin was not a prisoner,"

"He's a paladin of Voltron! He should be destroyed," Hagar growled back.

"If I wanted the paladin dead we would be dammit! Now get out of my sight or you will receive the same punishment as him!" Lotor snarled and Hagar bowed her head and left. His eyes looked at the guard holding a bloody whip and everyone's stomachs dropped.

"Zethrid," Lotor glared at the same galra who held the whip.

"Yes Lotor?" His eyes didn't move off of the galra.

"Execute him,"

"My pleasure,"

"Lance are you alright?" Lotor was lower as they saw Lance silently in pain as tears where running down his face and blood dripping down his back and shoulders as he was curled up in a ball shaking.

"Oh god," Shiro had to look away from the memories, Keith looked at Lance remembering the scars he's caught glimpses off. Allura had a straight face to hide her disturbance knowing she's seen them fully.

"Lance-" "I don't want sympathy, apologize and I'll stun you," Lance cut Pidge off.

"Hello nayla, how's he doing?" Lotor walked into some bed room.

"He whines like a kit," a woman's voice replied.

"Hey!" Lance defended.

"I said stay down!"

"..."

Lotor chuckled at the two seeing Lance pouting and the woman galra was shaking her head as she switched the cloths on lances back. Lotor raised the rags and they saw how Lance was really healing.

"Oh they sugar coat the fuck out of that, it was so much worse," Lance saw his own wounds and Matt snorted.

"So how bad is it really?" Lance asked as they saw Lance looking up at him.

"Your wounds are still fresh but your fever is long gone,"

"Can I get up?"

"I don't see why not," Lotor nodded turning away.

"But the wounds!" The woman cried out.

"The prince has spoken," Lance smirked as he pushed himself up by failed.

"God dammit!" Lance yelled annoyed in pain.

"Nayla thank you for everything, you are dismissed," Lotor patted her shoulder and the woman left

"Shall we get you off this bed?" He offered Lance a hand. Lance took it and Lotor lift him up with one hand and Lance grunted as he sat straight on the edge of the bed.

"Is... Is this your bed?" Lance asked nervously and took his hand back.

"Yes, I don't let anyone I don't trust into my quarters," Lotor sat next to him on the bed as he looked inside the wrapping on lances bare back. They looked bad still.

"What about me?" Lance gulped not looking at him.

"You had a reason to be here, the room before anyone can get into unfortunately, only my generals and very very few servants are allowed,"

"Where you serious? About letting me go back to my team one day?"

Lotor stared at Lance, they're different shades blue eyes looking at each other, the ocean met the night.

"What do I have to do to get there?" He asked hopeful.

"Was he serious?" Keith asked and Lance nodded not saying anything as he watched.

"If the galra think your loyal, no one will question if you left, I've lied to my people before, I have no problem doing it again," they shared a smile.

"So tell me about your team, what makes them so great to have Voltron at their command?" Their hands joined as Lotor was his support to stand.

"What? Gonna use it against me?" Lance said sarcastically.

"I've heard it's more of a earth term, an 'ice breaker'?" Lotor offered.

Lance chuckled shaking his head at the memories.

"I know we don't have google in space but, oh my god the little things I love about him," Lance whispered and snickered, Lotor was very formal and didn't know how to joke around, Only hunk heard him.

"What else does he say?" Hunk smirked.

"You know cas from super natural?" Lance looked at him.

"Oh my god that comparison,"

"Hush," Allura looked at them as the next memory started.

"My generals might accompany us later if that's alright? I still have to run the empire but I have less trust now to my staff," Lotors voice spoke.

"Sorry about that," Lance answered.

"Why do you apologize?"

"Your not upset about it?" Lance asked confused.

"It's something stupid to be upset about, you did not make them untrustworthy, you proved it to me, I should thank you instead," Lotor explained.

"On your team, you are doubtful for your thoughts? So you apologize?" Lotor looked at Lance even if his head was turned to the ground.

The team frowned as Lance paled, he forgot that they'd see him confess his insecurities, how he felt, he trusted Lotor with those feelings, not them.

"I'm not the most important one, usually if I do anything wrong I just sort of apologize," Lance shrugged and walked forward faster.

"Shit," Lance hissed under his breath forgetting voltron didn't know as much about him as they thought they did.

"You know that's not true Lance, right?" Keith asked and Lance scoffed.

"Shut up, it was a long time ago," Lance crossed his arms looking down.

"See, Lotors not to bad," Matt smirked watching the memory continue.

"Told you," Lance agreed.

"Get the hell out! Why would you not knock?!" Lotors voice made everyone jump except lance.

"Ezor couldn't find you, I went to go get you and I thought you'd..." Lance fumbled with his words as Lotor glared at him over his shoulder.

"Congratulations you are correct," Lotor spat.

"Lotor I'm sorry I didn't mean to, it seemed urgent," Lance explained.

"It's prince lotor to you Paladin, what did you need?" Lotor snapped. This made almost everyone in the room glare seeing how Lotor was once.

"Your no prince of mine," Lance challenged back.

"Only reason here is cause you chose me like book on a shelf, So why should I treat you like a high and mighty emperor when I was technically kidnapped and tortured?"

"And what do you want me to say? To do!? To show even more weakness? Let you go back to your home planet or back to that team you call friends?" Lotors eyes were on the ground.

"Your not weak! Your the quiznexing Prince of the empire!" Lance scoffed.

"I'm the exiled prince of the empire! The altean and galra hybrid! I'm not galran enough to be strong, i actually have to work and prove my worth," Lotor spun and grabbed lances upper arm in anger with a snarl.

"Lotor your hurting me," Lance grabbed his wrist with wide eyes. He wasn't afraid it seemed, just concerned.

He was immediately released.

"You say I'm not weak but I will not be patronized by you, I am never enough! This is the only way for no one to get hurt," He snarled. "My altean blood is a burden,"

"Wait what?" Allura stepped closer.

"Altean?" She breathed wide eyes. Lance swallowed a lump in his throat knowing Lotor wasn't going to tell them.

"Zarkons his father, his mother was altean," lance whispered to them nodding.

"Lotor stop, please," he whispered to the prince.

Lotor turned away from him. But suddenly Lances arms wrapped around him from behind as Lotor watched his hands hold onto him.

"Why do you think I was okay with being taken?" Lance sighed.

"You notice I'm not fine because... We're the same aren't we? Not enough for our own kind, scared to show who we really are, I'm a seventh wheel of Voltron and your an exiled prince," Lance explained as Lotor kept his head down.

"But your still a leader, people respect and follow you, your generals need you," Lance gulped a little staying behind him. "I respect you as a man, not because your galra or altean..."

Lance let go of him but Lotor immediately turned back to face him. Only to see lance walking away.

"Lance wait," Lotor grabbed his wrist and Lance turned to him with a frown.

"I am truly sorry... For everything, everything that I've done or forced you too do," he looked at Lance sincerely.

"I'm tired prince Lotor, come get me when you need something ," Lance said with a slight rasped to his voice and left.

"What was that?" Allura spun to Lance.

"Let him out," Lance told her. "This is enough, it's to personal!"

"Pidge fast forward,"

"No!"

"I'm sorry about loosing the Teludav," Lance spoke as Lotor had his back to him.

"Keith is the leader right now it seems, he was the red paladin before, he relies on instinct," Lance explained but fell silent when Lotor didn't respond.

"I really am sorry... Are you okay?" Lance sighed.

"I am most irritated at the moment," Lotor turned to a nervous Lance with his hands behind his back.

"But luckily I'm sure I'll be able to work around it," he nodded.

"I'm sorry sir, we should've been more prepared," Lance pursed his lips keeping his eyes down.

"That you should've but there is nothing we can do now," Lotor let out a small breath.

"But seriously are you okay?" Lance asked again like he was mothering the prince. It was familiar to the Paladins.

"Even a leader can't keep it all in, I tell you everything, cause I trust you like that, tell me something if you trust me just as much," Lance gave him a soft look.

"I am well, despite the last battle, everything is going according to plan," Lotor looked at him more relaxed.

"Was I part of that plan?"

"No, I never seen you or your team before that battle, but when I did see you, I saw everything you could become," Lotor set a hand over lances head for a moment like a pat. Lance smiled and they sat on the bed together as Lance took his hands off him.

"Something else is bothering you than thinking I'm using you?" Lotor questioned.

"It's nothing, it's stupid," Lance gulped.

"If it's bothering you then it's anything but stupid, tell me, don't make a prince beg, not after a hard day," Lotor grabbed his hand gently.

"Sorry," Lance looked away.

"Never mind that, now tell me," Lotor ran his thumb over lances.

"I thought you would've been furious with me failing," lance pursed his lips.

"I was only frustrated but it's over now, I promise I'm not angry," Lotor told him gently to assure him.

They looked at each other as lance felt blush brush against his cheeks. Obviously getting embarrassed or bashful when they looked at each other for a moment longer.

"Can I tell you something?" Lance whispered.

"Of course," Lotor nodded gently.

"You don't need to say anything, but if I don't say anything I know I'll hate myself for it.." he said quietly.

"There's this guy, I admired him, he was amazing at everything he did, everyone loved him, everyone respected him, he could fight like he's done it for years, lead with no one questioning it, even if he was hot tempered at times," Lance kept his head down from the prince.

"Shit," lance felt his face heat up with wide eyes remembering. Him and Keith looked at each other red in the face.

"And I loved him, i admired and loved him, I wanted to be the one that made him let loose and smile like no ones watching," Lance sighed closing his eyes.

"But he never loved me back or even noticed,"

"Lance-" "no," he cut Keith off.

"Please can we turn it off?" Lance asked uncomfortable but was ignored.

"But there's another guy, someone I thought I could never even think about even tolerating, he was different and well I wasn't suppose to even show kindness or respect to him and I didn't,"

"But he... I think I fell for him instead, this feeling coming back every time I see him, he made me feel different, wanted, he listened, he cared for me even if he shouldn't have, but I'm afraid of if I love him and if he loves me, but I don't think I can help it, he's so much more than me and I'm no where near his level and yet he took a nobody in and made me feel secure about my part of who I am," Lance closed his eyes.

"Why is that? Your fear?" Lotor asked calmly looking at the floor.

"Because last person I loved and loved me back, died, and I don't know if I can handle it happening again," Lance whispered with his voice cracking. "And I know it'll happen,"

"Can I ask who they where that made you feel this way?" Lotor asked almost nervous.

"My little sister Chloe, she died when I was sixteen... I-i... I loved Keith more than just a close friend," Lance felt his hands shake.

"Plot twist," Matt whistled.

"Your sister?" Keith looked at lance concerned as everything was starting to make sense. Lance had his arms crossed as he said nothing, it hurt to hear around her, he didn't want to talk about her.

It was silent. Memory and reality.

"And I think I'm falling in love with you,"

"Saw that coming," Shiro crossed his arms nodding.

"I don't know love,"

"Ive never felt love before, not from a mother nor a father, not from a lover, and I have never loved, I feel the need to protect my generals as a family," Lotor spoke in a steady tone.

"But I don't think I've aloud my self to love also in fear of doing what I need to do as a leader or for them to be in danger," he sighed clasping his hands together.

"What about now?" Lance asked.

"I feel something everytime I look at you, I believe I feel love," Lotor chuckled softly but there was no humor.

"Do you love me?" Lance looked at Lotor as they sat on a bed together. Lotor brushed lances brown locks out of his face and held the side of his face while staring at Lance.

"Yes,"

"You and Lotor..." Pidge looked at him with wide eyes.

"You and Lotor are partners? Lovers?" Allura frowned a little as lance glared at her.

"Yes. Big secrets out, I fell for the enemy, I know I'm the bad guy," Lance spat at her.

"Is that why.. when I-" "I fell in love with Lotor before I came back the first time, I love him a lot," lance cut Keith off once more as his head hurt and couldn't look at them.

"Lotor come on," Lance giggled in the memory. Everyone looked back at them seeing the relationship now.

"Oh my love, let's just take a lazy day," Lotor was looking down at Lance as they where in his bed. Lance had a big smile looking back at him as laughter bubbled up from his chest and they heard Lotor laugh as well.

"Are the galra capable of that?" Lance reached up and kissed Lotor quickly.

"The others are going to wonder~" Lance sang and Lotor kissed him softly.

"Your right your right as alway, but as the prince I make the rules," Lotor teased and Lance busted into a small fit of giggles.

"And I say I rather be with you today than my empire my love," he kissed lance again.

"Fair enough, I'm okay with that," Lance pushed Lotor down and straddled him as Lotor looked up at Lance as he gently played with his hair.

"But, as I'd love to stay, I got to get your ass up to that cruiser or the witch will seek us, I'm basically in charge of you," Lance got off. He squeal a laugh when he grabbed lance to bring him back.

"I rather not," Lotor rolled on top of him as lance reached up smiling to hold his face.

"Come ooooon,"

"Skip it," Lance didn't look at them blushing more. "How much longer?

"Not much,"

"Then don't get made when you see us having sex in one of these," he snapped harshly at them as they hesitated to play more.

"I don't care if I die Lotor, I've seen death more than once, but you, I'd die for you Lotor, hundreds and hundreds of times," Lance yelled now.

"Don't say that," Lotor growled.

"Well I am because I love you dammit, because I can count on you when I thought I couldn't with anyone else, I trust you because you e had so many times to kill me and you haven't,"

"You could've killed me, even when I was just a prisoner,"

"you where never my prisoner,"

"you could've killed me when I was weak,"

"I saw who you really are,"

"Exactly, now who am I now? Have I changed?" Lance crossed his arms glaring and Lotor took a breath.

"Lance... I..." Lotor trailed off. He looked at Lance again with his midnight blue eyes, a small smile formed on his face and a humorless chuckle bubbled up as he covered his face with a hand.

"Your right... We are truly damaged," he looked up at Lance with tears falling down his pale face and Lance softened up with worry on his face.

"Your so right that we are damaged but, I choose you, I will always choose you, but I don't want to hurt you or loose you... My love, please forgive me," Lotor closed his eyes tightly.

"Yea," Lance smiled and hugged Lotor around the chest.

"But don't pull that move. Ever. Again." Lance scowled looking up at him.

"I'm sorry my dear," he leaned down to kiss his forehead but they're helmets clanked together and they stood there with wide eyes looking at each other while Lotor turned a reddish purple in embarrassment.

"When we find somewhere safe, I'd like to rearrange that forehead kiss," Lance let go smirking crossing his arms.

"Anything for you my love," Lotor agreed as he turned back to the gate.

"You thinking of what to do now?" Lance asked and he nodded.

"I'll figure out something," he sighed.

"That's enough," Allura whispered.

"Turn it off," Shiro nodded at Pidge as she typed into the system.

"On it," she shut it down and soon the pod powered down and Lotor gasped as he stumbled out only for Lance to catch him.

"Is it over?" Lotor asked standing straight shaking his head a little and Lance looked away supporting him as Lotor steadied himself.

"Yes, we can move forward, tomorrow we will begin a plan," Allura nodded looking at him.
