Just breathe
"Is he going to be okay?"
Lotor looked up seeing Keith who was visibly having a melt down, he couldn't handle all of this-this drama, it was overwhelming.
Lotor motioned to next to him and Keith sat with the fellow galra in the spare room. They sat in silence for a while, it wasn't awkward nor tense, it was comfortable, it's what they needed.
"They didn't cut off his leg," Keith gulped as if he was going to be sick and Lotor closed his eyes. Just the thought of... That...
"Is he going to be okay?" Keith asked looking at the prince.
"I only can pray to the stars he will," Lotor whispered.
"I'm glad he found you, even if it was a weird way, I never seen Lance so happy with someone, not since we came to space," Keith sighed and Lotor looked at him a little.
"I saw the memories," he bit his bottom lip and Lotor nodded.
"He told me, he once loved you, I understand how, your an admirable person," Lotor sat up straight.
"Why do you say it like that?" Keith raised an eye brow.
"Because this war will go on, I don't know for how long, but it will continue, and in that time, something is possible if ending me, for being a traitor or a galra, I know many would celebrate my death," Lotor told him and Keiths breath hitched.
"And if that day comes, I want to know someone is there to take care of him, to show him love, I want that someone to be you, I know your strong enough, but if I ever fail to protect or be there for my love, I can only pray that you'll be there for him," Lotor looked at the floor.
"Your not going to die Lotor," Keith told him.
"You don't know that,"
"Lotor your not allowed to die! You have his heart you have his trust and his love, don't give your life up so he can be left behind once again, he would to do anything and everything for you, if you die and leave him alone then you will be the one to put him in misery, not this war," Keith stood up.
"Live for him, don't die for him," he glared down at the prince.
"I was to late, you have his heart, don't shatter it," he placed a hand on Lotors shoulder at they stared at each other and Lotor nodded.
"I understand," Lotor said softly.
"And I thank you, times are rough for all of us, but what I said still stands, but only if that day's comes," he smirked and Keith hesitated but nodded.
"I take care of my team, my friends, it's a deal,"
----------
They waited outside of a healing pod to speed things up as Lotor watched Lance breath softly with a calm face. He didn't dare look away from his face.
Pidge, Matt and hunk came together to make a brace for lances leg and attached it to lances knee before he was set in the pod to be healed quickly. Lotor held bags under his eyes and hand his hair in a messy pony tail, Lance would disapprove and fix his hair and make him do a face mask to relax. Lance knew him, and Lotor knew Lance. Things don't seem right anymore though... one without the other was a disaster.
Not as in anything is wrong with their relationship but how life was working for them both, being on this ship, not having Acxa, Ezor or Zethrid... Or Narti... Lotor even missed nayla. A first friend when he was young, an old friend that he trusted.
They waited a while longer as a few Paladins where speaking but Lotor stayed silent as he was distant from the group. He didn't belong here. He stayed for Lance. Lotor wanted things to be like before.
But he's never gotten anything he's wanted, barely with what he needed... he was not a lucky soul.
Keith was right, Lance was his blessing, he desired Lance, was hungry for his affection, for his laughter, his smile. He was starving to see Lance awake. It was going to be the end of him.
"You okay?" A voice asked but Lotor didn't answer. He didn't know these people.
"Scary isn't it, seeing someone so close to you, physically and emotionally," it was hunk.
"The first time Lance was in there, I was petrified I was going to be next, it was Shiro," he smiled sadly at Lotor.
"Why do you bother to be kind to me?" Lotor raised an eye brow at the yellow paladin.
"It's my thing," hunk smiled sheepishly. "Plus, I've been everywhere, literally, the cutest things can be evil and the misunderstood can be beautiful,"
"Talking about your girlfriend again~" Pidge teased walking over.
"You have a mate as well?" Lotor look at hunk who blushed.
"N-no, Shay isn't my girlfriend o-or mate," hunk smiled at the thought of Shay.
"Mate? Is that what you call a boyfriend or girlfriend, I don't know how the galra works with all that," Pidge raised an eyebrow and Lotor turned dark purple.
"As a galra and an altean, two mates share the same scent..." He gulped awkwardly. "Galra are known for having one lover for their life time that's close to their rank, and alteans were known for loving all, naturally attracted to male and female and in between but both are very protective of their lovers, so my genetics are very much loyal to my mate-uh Lance," he was dark purple now blushing.
"What about zarkon?" Allura raised an eye brow.
"My mothers intelligence was very high and had no interest in having a love as long as I can remember, Hes not exactly emotional," Lotor nodded.
"This is beyond the weirdest conversation I'll ever have," Matt was burning as well as Shiro.
"As well as I," Lotor shook his head but turned around when he heard an alarm going off behind him as they felt a blast hit the ship and the power go down.
"Zarkon found us!" Pidge brought up a holoscreen. Lotor looked back with wide eyes when he saw the pod open up and Lance fell out as he was still unconscious.
"No..." Allura looked at Pidge then glared at Lotor as he was already at lances side.
"I'll take care of him, you Paladins must go," Lotor said quickly looking up at all of them.
Everyone hesitantly started to back away but soon ran off to get to their lions, except for Keith.
"Red Paladin what did I say?" Lotor said quickly.
"I'm not a paladin," Keith knelt down to them as Lotor laid Lance on the ground. He quickly checked his pulse and Keith could see Lotor visibly pale.
"He has no pulse," Lotor said quietly. "He's not breathing!"
Keith looked at Lance with wide eyes as Lotor started to try saving the human as he tilted lances head back a little and forced breathes into his lungs.
"Come. On." Lotor growled getting on his knees as he put both hands over another on lances chest as he started to push down a little in a swift motion repeatedly.
He continued to do both as Keith watched fearful. Lotors hair started to fall out of the pony tail as the white locks covered his face, he cussed a few more times but never stopped trying to bring Lance back.
"L-Lotor..." Keith said in barley a whisper looking at Lance. He couldn't see Lotors face but he could tell he still wasn't giving up.
"I'm not giving up," Lotor pumped on lances chest again.
"Hand me the needle," Lotor pointed up at the medical table where Lance once was before put in the pod.
"Which one?" Keith scrambled to his feet as he almost crashed into the table.
"The blue!" Lotor felt his hands shaking as the castle was hit again by the outside.
Keith quickly raced to Lotor shoving the needle with a blue liquid in his hands and Lotor stabbed it in the middle of lances chest injecting it. He quickly took it out and began CPR again to get Lance to at least breathe.
"Lance!" Lotor roared and Keith saw pure fear in his eyes as tears, he never notice before, where washing down his purple face like a river.
"N-no... Ancient stars no!" Lotor pleaded as lances calm face stayed still. Lotor bent down again and pushed breaths into his lungs again but could feel his loves lips, they where cold and still.
Lotor stopped as he covered his mouth looking down at Lance.
Lance suddenly gulped a deep breaths as his eyes flung open and he started to hyperventilate looking around with wide eyes as Keith helped him sit up and told him to take deep breaths as Lance choked on a sob clutching his chest in pain. Lotor held him tight as Lance wheezed softly.
"Inhale exhale Lance, just breathe, please just breathe," Lotor sobbed softly into lances hair as he held lances head to his chest and Lance focused on his breathing.
Keith smiled softly at the couple as tears traveled down his face as Lotor mouthed two words to him with tears in his eyes still.
Thank you
Keith nodded with a relieved smile as Lance started to calm down.
"Wh-what happened?" His voice shook and Lotor chuckled kissed his head and his forehead and between his thin dark eyes brows, to his nose, and happily on his lips.
"Nothing, all that matters is that your alive Lance, my love," Lotor touched their foreheads together and Lance looked at him with wide eyes seeing the tears of fear on his face and the smile of sweet relief.
