Home world
Lance knelt on one knee as he was aiming at moving targets, training with Acxa, as they where helping each other perfect their aim and such.
"So like is the whole empire in the dark or just you guys?" Lance asked looking through the scope of his sniper rifle.
"I believe it is mostly prince Lotor and us but the galra empire questions us," Acxa nodded.
"And..?"
"And?"
"Well fill me in, anything else?" Lance smirked at her.
"Nothing really, I thought prince Lotor kept you updated," she looked at him confused.
"He did just I lost contact for a little," Lance bit his lip and Acxa set her weapon down.
"I'm glad you were able to come back to us Lance, your a general still," she told him and he nodded.
"Well you don't have to worry about me picking a side, it's over, I already did," Lance switched his rifle to a hand gun and shot the target dead center.
"Loyalty is important," she smirked.
"So is trust,"
Bang
--
Keith sat on his bed with his knees to his chest as he stared at the device Lance once kept from them all. A question racing through his head.
Why?
Why would Lance do this to them? Did Lotor threaten them? Him? Well of course he did, like how Lotor was going to forced a paladin to come with him, why did he choose Lance? Maybe Lance was mind controlled. That sounds stupid. But it was possible, lance wasn't lance.
Keith typed into the device trying to figure it out but Lance self destructed it. Damn.
Keith set it down next to him and glared at the floor as if he wanted to set it on fire. How could Allura and Pidge say that to Lance? Tell him he's a traitor! To never come back!
How could they do that to him...
Would they if it was anyone else? What if Matt was in the same situation? Or Shiro? What about hunk? Would they really throw them out to the side like trash? Or was it just because Lance...
"Stop it!" Keith grabbed his head.
Lance was Lance! Nothing more nothing less! He was the blue paladin not Matt! Keith should've stepped up for him, he should've asked before sending Lance on the spot like that. Should've kept it their secret.
Should've, could've, would've. What good is it now?
But Lance didn't love him anymore, he did once but not anymore. A tear slid down Keiths face as he remembered the regret he'd probably live with forever.
"You okay?" Pidge walked in his room and Keith glared at her.
"Get the fuck out!" He didn't hesitate to snap at the youngest.
"Jesus Keith I was being sincere!" Pidge yelled back.
"Like you where to Lance?! After everything he's done for us!" Keith stood up.
"He betrayed us Keith!"
"He saved hunk!"
"When?!"
Keith took a deep breath as they both sat on his bed as Keith had a dangerous scowl on his face.
"The mission with the Teludav, I saw the general with a helmet yell at that lizard galra, when she was going to kill hunk but didn't, I thought it sounded familiar but I guess I didn't want to believe it," Keith explained with narrowed eyes.
"Lance can not be a general," she scoffed. "Sure he gets lucky shots but he's not that good, and for the galra? Those generals wouldn't hesitate to kill Lance, I mean it's lance,"
"Exactly, friendly, social Lance, who flirts with women, and guess what the generals are?" Keith crossed his arms.
"Sweet talking to become part of the empire?"
"To be liked by the generals, to survive," Keith explained.
"Fine believe what you want, we fucked up and lost one of our closest friends, now what did you want?" Keith turned away sharply and Pidge sent him a small glare.
"Lance isn't coming back Keith, we think he's dead," Pidge said softly.
"That's not funny,"
"We found the pod he escaped from, it was destroyed, barely recognizable but Allura could tell it was altean tech, and blues quiet," she sighed looking at the floor and Keith was in shock.
"Y-you... What have we fucking done Pidge, oh my god he can't be dead," Keith gripped his hair tightly.
"I just thought you should know," Pidge whispered and got up leaving Keith alone. Lance wouldn't have let him be alone, not in this situation. But Lance was dead. And Keith couldn't make it up to him.
------
"So you let Zethrid 'play' with the pod?" Lance giggled as he sat in Lotors bed with the blankets ruffled up around his torso as Lotor laid on his side facing Lance, their hands joined together.
"I don't see why not," Lotor smiled up at him and Lance laid back down and giggled when Lotor closed his eyes with a deep breath.
"What if someone finds it? Looks suspicious don't ya think?" Lance reached over and played with some of Lotors hair and tucked it behind his pointed ear.
"Let them," Lotor held his hand against his cheek and Lance smiled softly when Lotor changed his skin to a tan color. He only felt comfortable to change his skin with Lance, show his altean marks, Lance loved his skin, how it could change, how it was warm when Lotor wrapped him with his arms. No cold armor.
"Aren't you acting all evil, pretty edgy," Lance smirked and Lotor opened an eye at him.
"Edgy? Is that an earth term?" Lotor asked confused. He nodded.
"I do hope it's a compliment," he chuckled softly and Lance hummed unsure.
"Some people take it as a compliment," Lance lied. Well it's not always a lie.
"You know you never tell me of your home planet, earth, you've only told me of your little sister, I'd like you hear about more of your home world," Lotor propped himself up on an arm and Lance laid on his stomach thinking as he looked up.
"Where do I even begin? Well since last time I was there, your technology is way more advanced than earths," Lance explained.
"We've only been to two moons and one other planet, we send machines to do it a lot, the other Voltron Paladins and myself are the first humans to leave the Milky Way," Lance smiled deviously at his lover.
"Is that so? What about your culture?" Lotor asked.
"Oh my god Cuban and American, well Christmas is always a blast," Lance smirked. "My abuela cooks a mean enchilada,"
"Ench...lada..?"
"Enchilada, it's a type of food, really good, trust me," Lance giggled waving him off and Lotor laid on the pillow as he watched and listened to Lance rant about his home and his family, the places he's seen and always wanted to see, the holidays, the food, how he taught his siblings how to dance, his niece and nephew. Everything.
And Lotor happily listened to all of it. It was nice to know what a home world really was.
