*San's Playground*
A powerful aura had started to fill the city leaving nothing but fear, dread and anxiety in the citizens of Seoul. For the past few days, it had slowly been building up. Now, it had reached its peak.
The sky faded from its usual crystal blue into a frightening shade of red, fog was replaced with red mist that could cloud one's thoughts and vision within seconds and church bells cried in alarm, warning that the end was near.
For the Blood Moon had arrived.
˚˙༓࿇༓˙˚˙༓࿇༓˙˚˙༓࿇༓˙˚
Yunho knew this was coming. He could feel the dark energy penetrate the air as the powers of Hell began to seep onto Earth's surface. Hongjoong, Seonghwa, San and Jongho had started to become antsy and Yunho made sure to warn Yeosang to be ready for anything. "The Blood Moon is arriving," he told him. "A rare occurrence where, for twenty-four hours, a part of Hell comes to Earth and amplifies the powers of those from its original domain to an incredible degree. All rules, laws and reason are lost on them."
The angel glanced towards Jongho, who was getting help with his homework from Mingi. "Best we prepare for the unexpected."
The unexpected was exactly what they got.
On the day of the Blood Moon, both Yeosang and Yunho had seemingly lost all mobility. Under the harsh red rays of the moon, they were laced with agony and dreariness. Feelings that were sure to be worse over the coming days. Regardless of their lack of mobility, the two of them managed to trudge into the living room where their eyes widened at the state of the outside world.
Chunks of pavement levitating in the air, entire houses flipped upside down, dead trees and vegetation, fire, rain, snow, hail - nothing was in balance. "Pure chaos," Yeosang marvelled.
"Yunho!" The duo heard Mingi shout. He ran to Yunho's side with a frantic and frightened expression on his pale face. "Yunho! Jongho won't wake up! Why is the sky red? What's going on?"
"Oh, that? I knocked Jongho out." Yeosang stated bluntly. "Jeez, you ask so many questions." Mingi's eye twitched.
"WHY DID YOU DO THAT?"
"Mingi, you have to breathe," Yunho told him. "Watch over Jongho, the two of us will handle everything else." He glanced over at Yeosang who had gleefully opened the door with his newly reformed wings out, ready to go. Their faces had changed as well. Tiny, light green crystals ran down the side of Yeosang's cheeks with his eyes being dusted with glitter. Yunho's face had slightly larger crystals, and was now covered in silver glitter that ran from his eyes, down his cheeks.
Mingi was stunned by how utterly breathtaking they looked, it was like his eyes just couldn't handle their beauty. Thankfully he managed to distract himself with a question. "Wings? But I thought-"
"This isn't Earth," Yunho arched forward, his wings spreading out for the first time in weeks. It was a satisfying yet painful experience as they ripped through his back. Mingi was horrified to hear the terrible ripping of skin and bones before the angel's feathery appendages finally came out. There wasn't a drop of blood or look of agony in sight when Yunho turned to the human. "This is Hell on Earth. Your rules don't apply anymore."
Wordlessly, he took Mingi's hand and placed a soft kiss on them before Yeosang called him to get going.
------------------------------
San stared down at his chaos with glee. He smirked at the people being chased by imps, he found pleasure in hearing the screams of those being pummeled by hail and he felt utter bliss as every vehicle that passed wrecked itself once on sight. His dark purple horns rested comfortably on his head and his hair had turned red-black as a sign that he was in his full form. Every bit of anarchy gave him the insatiable power high he had been so desperately craving. Still, he couldn't help but feel that something was missing - the main course.
"San!" A voice screamed.
Right on time.
"Wooyoungie~" The demon called in a sing-song voice as he floated to the ground. His face was contorted into a horrifically toothy smile just like in the alley, only now every semblance of restraint or control was gone. "Do you like what I've done? Pretty isn't it?" San's eyes illuminated brightly with a purple colour and Wooyoung found himself being pulled towards the demon.
He dug his heels into the ground, trying his best to not be lured in yet his body wouldn't allow it. It wasn't long before he was in San's arms, with the demon looking down at him deviously. "Don't be scared Woo, it's only me." He purred.
"No, it's not," Wooyoung spat, still struggling to get out of the older's grip. "My Sannie would never do this! Now let me go!" San cocked his head to the side with a slight pout on his ever smiling face.
"I can't do that Wooyoungie, after all, you belong to me. I can't just let you go." He laughed at the mere idea of doing such a thing.
Wooyoung's struggle came to a halt when San yanked his chin closer to his face. "Now hold still love, I'll make sure this doesn't hurt." The demon's lips crashed against his quicker than he could've expected. Wooyoung's body soon began to feel limp the longer it went on, his eyes rolling agonisingly to the back of his head while the rest of him convulsed.
San gave himself a moment to breathe and as he did, admired the dazed state of the boy lying in his arms. "Just a bit longer love." He brought Wooyoung back to his face but was swiftly stopped when he was yanked back by his horns, making him drop the gasping human to the ground. San growled and turned to grab his offender, only for them to interrupt his movement with a harsh stab to the abdomen by a long sword. San screamed in pain, clawing at the weapon while his blood began to stain his clothes.
"Nice," Whistled Yeosang as he brought Wooyoung into his arms, bridal style. The human was only just beginning to regain consciousness.
Yunho hustled over to Wooyoung, his sword still in San's body as he checked on the poor boy. However, he knitted his brows at the easy defeat and remained in a defensive stance when he glanced back at the demon. Surely it couldn't be that easy? His suspicions were found to be correct when San lunged forward and pulled the angel into the air with him. Yunho hardly got a moment to react when his body was suddenly stretched to his absolute limit.
San glared at him with his dark and violent gaze just as he levitated massive chunks of pavement above the angel, ready to pummel him into the ground.
Yeosang gasped. "Hang on, would you?" He said towards the dazed human before flying into the sky. His appearance wasn't unnoticed by San as he quickly went to go deal with him, releasing Yunho from his hold in the process. The demon's eyes constantly trailed down to Wooyoung, not being able to reach him due to the fact that Yeosang was still trying to attack him. It was then that Yunho realised something:
San just wants Wooyoung, that's his only goal here.
With this revelation, Yunho traced the air with a quick pattern that trapped San in a cage of light before shouting to Yeosang: "We need to get him away from civilians! Grab his human and go!" The younger angel did as he was told, grabbed Wooyoung then hastily followed Yunho into the sky. They hadn't gotten very far before Yunho felt his powers weaken when San had broken out of his barrier.
"WOOYOUNG" San roared in fury. Yeosang practically screeched as the demon came flying full force at the two angels. He was only a few feet behind when Yeosang got an idea. "GIVE HIM BACK TO ME!"
"Only if you can catch him!" Confused, Wooyoung gasped when the angel raised him to his face and said: "Sorry about this but your survival depends entirely on how well Yunho can catch which is about seventy to a hundred ratio. I apologise for the other thirty percent in advance!" Before tossing him to the man just below them. San growled, grabbing Yeosang's leg just as he threw the human off and slamming him through the glass of a nearby building.
Yeosang was able to skid to a halt but not without getting a few glass shards in his hair. Still, he brought out his sword, pointing it towards the demon. "I've been waiting a long time for this."
"Keep waiting bitch," The floor beneath Yeosang began to crack under his feet and collapsed just as San flew out.
"Are you alright?" Yunho asked the shaking human in front of him. They had landed in a park just outside the city.
"What happened to San? Why is he like this?" Cried Wooyoung, clutching his arms for some sort of comfort. Yunho tilted his head at him.
"You are frightened." He stated and Wooyoung scoffed.
"Yeah, no shit Sherlock!"
"My name is not Sherlock, it is Yunho." Why was everyone from Heaven and Hell so weird? "You seemed stressed. Shall I comfort you?" Wooyoung looked Yunho up and down like he was some sort of maniac before rolling his eyes.
"No thanks," He grumbled when he turned away. Wooyoung yelped when he felt Yunho's strong arms wrap around him anyway even against his protest. "Hey hey hey! No means no! Didn't they teach you that in- Oh...wait...this is kinda nice..." Despite his refusal, Wooyoung soon found himself relaxing in Yunho's hold.
"Thanks, sir," Whispered Wooyoung. "I may not know much about you and for all I know this could all be a dream from LSD's someone slipped in my drink, but hey, you give really nice hugs."
"Thank you." The comforting moment was cut short when, out of the corner of his eye, Yunho saw San fly by. He dashed behind a large tree, bringing Wooyoung with him.
"Wooyoung!" The demon called out worriedly. The blonde started to feel guilty. He wanted nothing more than to be in San's arms and tell him he was okay, but Yunho's once comforting, turned somewhat harsh grip, was the only thing keeping him in place. "WOOYOUNG!" He shouted again, this time much more violently.
At the same time, Wooyoung was terrified. He had never seen such a crazed and possessive look in San's eyes. Not even in the alleyway. He was scared of what he might do once he found him.
"Wooyoungie, where are you?" San's asked, his voice now ringing through the blonde's head. Wooyoung shuddered at the sweet yet deranged tone of the demon's voice. "You're not hiding from me, are you?"
"N-No...Of course not..." Yunho turned back to Wooyoung.
"Ease yourself Wooyoung," Yunho said to him. "Don't let him know where you are."
"I won't hurt you, I promise."
"San I...I can't..." Wooyoung replied aloud. He froze, suddenly feeling his mind become much...cooler.
"Wooyoung..." It was a different voice. It was still San but sounded so much deeper and more demented. Like a serial killer stalking his victim. "You wouldn't want me to get angry with you, now would you? I'm not going to have to make you come to me, am I? Just tell me where you are, love."
"Yunho...What do I do...?" Wooyoung whimpered. Yunho couldn't hear the conversation in his head, but he could tell by the way Wooyoung's eyes glowed that San was speaking to him telepathically. It wouldn't be long before he took over his mind and body. Before he could make any calls, Wooyoung suddenly winced.
"THE ANGEl? Wait till I find you Wooyoung, I'll remind you who you belong to." And just like that, he was gone from Wooyoung's mind. He didn't understand what he meant until he heard San call something from above them.
"Shiber!"
It was dead silent. Until the only sound heard was the trembling of the ground, the clanking of chains and the heavy breathing of a monster. It had to be twenty feet tall, with teeth like blades and eyes sharper than steel, chains slung around its neck and massive brown body. "T-T-THAT'S SHIBER!?" Wooyoung exclaimed. "He said he was an adorable fluff ball! That thing is the size of my apartment complex!"
Yunho couldn't move either, staring at the beast in both awe and more fear than he had ever experienced in his life. "That's one of the children of Cerberus...but how did he..."
"Who cares! Let's go!"
San's head snapped in their direction once he saw the duo sprint away as fast as humanly possible. Wooyoung tripped over his feet as he felt Shiber's monstrous footsteps shake the ground. Yunho's wings felt locked in place, too scared to even get them to flutter. He could only hold Wooyoung in place as they continued to run. "I can't die like this!" The boy thought.
He yelped when he suddenly felt a hand grab his leg. Wooyoung was forced to the ground, frantically looking down to see San pulling him towards him with a smirk. "And you won't die Wooyoungie~ I won't let you." He leaned forward. "Not even if you wanted to."
"YUNHO!" The angel, just now realising that Wooyoung was no longer next to him, halted dead in his tracks.
"Let him go San," He tried his best to remain calm, but Shiber's shadow leered over them in a way that made him quiver. "It is best we talk about this."
The demon growled at him. The grip he held on Wooyoung's leg tightened, making the teen cry in pain. "NO! He's mine, not yours, not anyone else's! You can't take him away, HE BELONGS TO ME!" Yunho and Wooyoung covered their ears at the loud boom his voice alone made. San hardly registered it and simply brought the struggling teen into his arms before flying into the air. He fixed his glare towards Yunho. "Kill him Shiber."
"Shit..." When Yunho's wings finally sprang open, the angel was sure he had never flown so fast in his entire life. The only thing he could hear was the sound of Shiber's heavy breathing and growls as he chased after him. Yunho knew he couldn't fly forever though. He screamed in pain when the monster's jaws clamped around his legs and slammed him into the ground. The angel winced when he felt the blood begin to stain his pants and desperately attempted to get back up.
Shiber's paw came crashing down on his back. Yunho's wings were still strong enough to keep it from crushing him but his strength would give out at any moment. He felt his wings twitch as they finally started to give out, Yunho's chest feeling like it was going to collapse with all the pressure.
Had it been just two seconds longer, he could've been crushed to death.
"Hyung!" A voice shouted from the distance. Shiber came crashing off of the angel, finally allowing him to breathe and let his wings free. His eyes slowly trailed up to see Yeosang standing in front of him, with his sword penetrated in Shiber's side. "Sorry about the late arrival, I was too busy being buried alive."
Yeosang pulled Yunho to his feet just as Shiber made his way back up with a growl. "Shall we?"
Yunho gazed up at the beast and summoned his weapon. "Let's go."
------------------------------
Wooyoung had never been more terrified in his entire life. The person he cared about most in the world had reeked chaos in his city and held him down against his will. This wasn't San. This wasn't the boy he loved. This was a lunatic.
"Look at me Wooyoung," He commanded.
"No..."
"I said-" He grabbed him by his neck and slammed him against the wall. "LOOK AT ME!" Wooyoung whimpered at his harsh tone, but couldn't pull away. He could feel San's eyes prying over him in a way he utterly despised. As if he were some sort of animal awaiting death. His lust was almost too much to bear. "You're so pretty Wooyoungie~" He giggled, snitching from his aggressive persona. Even at his soft words, Wooyoung still felt tears start to stream down his cheeks.
For a split second, San's expression was panicked before it melted into a smirk. "Don't cry, Woo. We won't hurt you."
"W-We...?"
"Me, myself and I of course." The demon laughed. Wooyoung's eye twitched. He had had enough of this.
"Are you insane!?" He shouted in irritation.
"Yes!" San yelled back, tightening his grip around the boy's neck making him choke. "That's so fucking hot," the demon groaned at the way Wooyoung helplessly squirmed in his grasp. San licked his lips, leaning in closer to the boy.
"But you like that, don't you?" He whispered darkly. "You like it when I'm crazy because I can make you feel good. Isn't that right?" Wooyoung stopped moving for a moment.
"W-What do you mean?"
"Aw, love. You don't remember? You were chanting my name over and over again so I helped you. It was so much fun." He looked down at Wooyoung's lips and brought him into a kiss. Wooyoung was too weak to fight him off, gasping when San bit his bottom lip allowing his tongue to enter his mouth.
The demon kept his hands clamped around his neck, only moving to attack it with hickeys until he whispered: "I figure it's time you return the favour." San shoved Wooyoung to his knees with a sick smirk. "I'm sure you know what to do, don't you? My little whore."
The tears prickled in Wooyoung's eyes yet again, his hands shaking towards San.
"I don't think so Hellspawn!" A fist suddenly collided with the demon's face, distracting him so that Yunho could pull Wooyoung away. The angel tossed a golden lasso towards Yeosang which he took happily and quickly wrapped around the demon then he kicked him around to keep him occupied.
"I'm going to kill you," Yeosang seethed. "I'm going to kill you just like I did with the little bitch you sent after us." San growled violently at him but it only made the angel smirk. "I'll make sure you join him in Hell, you monster."
"Wooyoung," Yunho said urgently. "I am not sure if it will work or what it will do, but we've figured out a plan. It may hurt, but I need you to repeat exactly what I say. Word for word." Wooyoung gulped.
San finally got himself free of the ropes and threw them to the ground with a huff. "San!" He heard Wooyoung shout. The demon whipped around.
"Wooyoung!" He ran towards him but stopped dead in his tracks at what he heard next.
"Stay away from me!" The blonde cried. "Don't come anywhere near me you fucking monster!" San felt his heart drop, shattering into a million pieces. He could see the fear in Wooyoung's eyes as tears streamed down his face.
"W-Wooyoungie...You d-don't mean that..." Wooyoung fixed a glare towards the demon. He could feel his heartbreak at the expression on San's face, but he knew he had to do this.
"I do! I don't want to be anywhere near you! All you've done is terrify me half to death! I hate you and I can't be with someone so insane!"
"YOU DON'T MEAN IT! You love me!"
"No, San...I don't love you!"
It was like something broke inside of San. He couldn't hear anything and his vision was slowly fading as his heart raged beneath his chest. He felt like crying yet wanted to rip everyone and everything around him to shreds. His expression would change within a second, going from pure fury to sorrow as if he was fighting with himself.
No control
"Who's there?" San exclaimed, frantically turning around to search for the unknown voice.
You should've never left containment
He doesn't love you
The demon flinched. "Y-Yes he does..."
You're rushing into things
That was Seonghwa's voice.
You can't be so impulsive
That was Hongjoong's, and the rest only started to blend together as loud garble in his head.
Control yourself. You're such a problem child.
"S-Stop it! No, I'm not!"
"Sannie!" Shouted Wooyoung, rushing towards the demon. Both angels held him back, slowly backing away from the scene as San's body began to twitch while his eyes started to glow furiously. "Let me go!" Yunho only covered Wooyoung's mouth, lightly shushing him as they watched the scene unfold.
How could you love him? How could he ever love you back? You've done nothing but scare him. You let your impulses get the better of you.
San held his aching head, whispering and muttering to himself as the voices got louder.
Demon. Satan child. Monster. Worthless. Dangerous. A mistake and a disgrace to your kind. Give up. You. Are. Nothing.
"Stop it stop it, STOP IT!" The demon fell to his knees, shaking violently while the ground beneath him trembled. He couldn't see anything, all he saw was static racing towards him that immediately blocked his vision. San let out a blood-curdling scream that left nothing untouched. The ground cracked, skyscraper windows shattered and buildings came tumbling down. Yeosang and Yunho used their wings to shield themselves and Wooyoung from the damage, quickly blocking their ears while cringing at the loud cry.
The moment it was all over Wooyoung pushed past the two angels and raced to his fallen friend. "S-Sannie...?" The demon didn't move, even when Wooyoung tried to shake him awake. "San! No! I didn't mean it, I didn't mean it! You can't just leave me like this! Wake up, please!"
Heavy tears streamed down his cheeks, his voice cracking as he desperately tried to get San move. "Mmm...Wooyoungie?"
"San!" Wooyoung pulled the demon into his arms immediately making San wince. "I'm sorry! I'm so sorry..."
"Please don't cry Wooyoung, I'm fine." He gave him a weak but toothy grin. San gasped when Wooyoung pulled his face closer, connecting their lips. It was a short kiss full of longing that both had waited all too long for. The blonde released him, smiling at San while tears continued to stream down his cheeks.
"Wooyoung...I never got to say it before...b-but...I lo- AGH!"
With one strike from behind, a sword penetrated San's chest, going right through his heart. He started gasping, choking as dark blood spilt from his mouth and pooled around his wound.
Yeosang yanked his sword out of his body. His eyes were dark as he spat: "I told you I'd get revenge." Wooyoung tightened his grip around San, holding him tighter while whispering that he'd be okay, "I hope they make you suffer in Hell." San couldn't respond. He only sputtered on his fleeting breaths before falling completely limp in Wooyoung's arms. The pure horror on his face was immeasurable.
"Yeosang!" Shouted Yunho angrily.
"He had it coming..." The sight in front of him didn't build any guilt in the slightest. If anything, it made him feel even better. Knowing San was lying cold in his lover's arms, leaving him completely alone, gave him nothing but great satisfaction.
Yunho was just about ready to send Yeosang back to heaven for his crime but knew he needed him here to help. He knelt to the weeping teen and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Calm yourself," he tried his best to say in solidarity, but it only made Wooyoung wail harder. "He'll be alright. As long as he's under the Blood Moon, his scars will heal in due time."
The once smug look on Yeosang's face was wiped clear off. "What?"
"Had this been any other day he would've returned to Hell once he died on Earth. Unfortunately for you, Yeosang, this is not the case." Ignoring the pure look of disappointment on the younger angel's face, Yunho lifted Wooyoung and San's unconscious body into his arms, then flew back to Mingi's house.
Wooyoung didn't take his eyes off San the entire time. His eyes watched as his chest began to heal itself ever so slowly, but he knew he wouldn't wake up anytime soon. "Sannie...I'm so sorry..."
