*Little White Lie*

The weekend had finally arrived, meaning San was going to meet with Wooyoung. Despite it being against the rules, had he had the energy, San would've just flown to Wooyoung's house. Unfortunately, he'd spent most of the week using his powers for his own random or chaotic needs, rendering him exhausted. Thus, San asked his father to drive him to which Hongjoong happily complied, especially since he wanted to have a conversation with his son anyways.

"Sannie," Hongjoong spoke, earning a light hum from his son. "Listen, your father and I just want you to be careful. It's not that we don't want you to be in a relationship, it's just that we want you to be safe, and wait for certain things."

"I understand." The teen replied quietly. He knew it wasn't the smartest move to get so touchy with Wooyoung when they had just met. "I just got a little excited..."

"Don't worry, it happens. Please, just be mindful. Earth isn't like Hell. You can't act on impulse or be so transparent. They've got different rules and expectations. I don't want to say they're narrow minded but..."

"Dad," San interrupted. "I get it. But...I think Wooyoung might be different. He's innocent." Maybe innocent wasn't necessarily the right word. "He's interesting and I would like to get to know him more. Please, will you allow me?"

Hongjoong felt his heart churn. Truth be told, he wasn't sure if San would connect with anyone while on Earth. He had noticed how tired and out of character he'd been recently and started to wonder if moving was a mistake for San's sake. Hearing that he genuinely wanted to get to know someone made him smile. "Of course Sannie." He only hoped things didn't go wrong for him.

They arrived at Wooyoung's house soon after. It was an apartment, the cramp setting being something San wasn't used to. Hongjoong decided to walk to the front door with him, he was curious to meet Wooyoung's mother and get to know her since he figured they'd be seeing a lot more of each other.

Just before San knocked on the door, something caught his attention. "A cross?" Just under the eye hole was a golden cross as well as a sign below reading 'May God be with you and give you strength' which Hongjoong couldn't help but scoff at.

"They're religious? Alright then..." Not too long after San knocked, a petite woman came out. Her eyes were sparkling brown and her blonde hair was styled into a bob. She seemed basic but friendly either way. "Ah! You must be San!" She said cheerfully. "Come in, come in!"

The woman ushered them inside, offering Hongjoong a cup of tea which he politely accepted. Wooyoung came in from the hall, smiling brightly as he saw San. "I must admit, you're much different to the way Wooyoung described." Ms Jung commented as she poured the hot water into Hongjoong's cup.

"Oh? And how did he describe me?" He inquired, seeing as he'd never really gotten a proper glance at Wooyoung.

"Oh it was silly. He said you were intimidating, with dark hair and was um...tall..."

Hongjoong smiled through the pain. "Ah yes...tall." Something he would never be. "He must've been speaking about my hus-" A powerful shriek suddenly ran through the demons head nearly making him fall over in surprise.

"Sorry..." San apologised through telepathy. He tilted his head towards yet another cross on the wall. Hongjoong rolled his eyes. He'd need to have a talk with his son later about religious stigmas. Still, he nodded. "My housemate," he corrected. "I apologise if he scared your son, he doesn't like new people."

"I see. I want to say how thankful I am that you've raised such a nice boy. Wooyoung's been through a lot recently with his internship picking up," Wooyoung cringed at his mother's words. San looked at him questionably but the younger just said he'd explain later.

"The amount of jealousy some of these children have is ridiculous! All because Wooyoung has such a well paying job, they feel the need to pick on him! He's been working at a large company you see, KQ. I'm sure you've heard of it." Hongjoong didn't get a chance to respond to her subtle brag as the woman carried on. "I hear San has been very helpful in defending him and I want to say thank you."

Hongjoong looked impressed. Not only by Wooyoung's career but by San's actions as well. He gave his son a nod of approval, not connecting the dots until much later. "I have to say, you look pretty young to be a father." Wow this woman loved making comments didn't she.

"Ah yes well..." Hongjoong wasn't sure how to say "Well actually, I don't necessarily age and I've looked like this for about a couple hundred years." So he opted to just tell her: "I adopted San at a young age." It wasn't technically a lie. San was adopted just not when Hongjoong was young.

"Oh! I was wondering why you two didn't look alike."

The two adults spoke for a few more moments while their kids waited awkwardly for them to leave. He couldn't quite place it, but something about this family was familiar to Hongjoong. It wasn't until he got a text from Seonghwa did he say his goodbyes. He told San he'd pick him up when he was ready then headed out. "Can I get you anything San?" Ms Jung asked sweetly.

"Actually mom, we're about to go-"

"Oh but Wooyoung, you haven't told him about your job!" The teen forced a smile. He took San's hand and quickly walked towards the door.

"It's fine he already knows-"

"Wooyoung works as an intern at KQ! It's a very prestigious company and it's paid very well!" Wooyoung cursed under his breath while San on the other hand, looked mildly invested and continued to listen to the woman boast. "Last night he even came back with a one hundred dollar tip! Isn't that just a blessing? Aw Woo I'm so proud of you!" Ms Jung pinched her son's soft cheeks as she cooed at him proudly.

"Okay thanks for the chat Mom, bye!" San didn't even get the chance to wave at her before Wooyoung pulled him outside the door. The teen dragged him through the halls without saying a word and it wasn't until they had left the building did Wooyoung let out a frustrated groan.

"Sorry about that," he murmured. San looked at him sympathetically and rubbed his back with his free hand. Wooyoung noticed that he was still holding him and let go, turning away to hide his blush.

"Aw Wooyoungie, don't hide," San teased, pulling Wooyoung back in his direction. "So, your internship?"

Wooyoung groaned once again. He began walking down the street and San followed after him. "It's not real..." he told him. "I needed some sort of reason for why I was making so much money and I couldn't tell her I was working at a strip club! Especially not a gay strip club. An internship at a big company seemed like the option. My mom likes to talk a lot though. Next thing you know, half of our neighbours have found out."

Wooyoung didn't necessarily sound resentful, but he wasn't thankful either. More so, the teen was just annoyed. San glanced at his friend with worry. He hated seeing him so upset and didn't want him to stress about this. "I'll help you find a way out of it." He promised, gazing at Wooyoung with determination.

The younger smiled at him and that was all San wanted. They continued to wander about town casually conversing about random things on their mind. It was rather pleasant for the two teens with both making the occasional flirtatious jab at the other. Unconsciously, they had started walking hand in hand again, neither of them noticing for at least twenty minutes. "Sorry," San mumbled as he moved his hand away.

"Don't be," Wooyoung grabbed him once more with a slight grin. "I like it." San blushed but tried his best to hide it, making Wooyoung chuckled. He found it cute how flustered San got over small gestures yet was so bold when he flirted. "So, your dads own a café?"

The older boy hummed at him. "I can take you there if you want! It's across down though." Wooyoung told him not to worry since he knew a shortcut. They turned between a few buildings and entered a wide alleyway that would take them where they needed to be. It was too late before Wooyoung recognised where they were.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing?" A voice growled. The teens were quick to turn around. In front of them were three men, all in suits. The man in the middle, most likely the boss based on his gold accessories, glared harshly at the blonde. "Now just what do you think you're doing with him Kitten?"

Instantly, San found himself resisting the urge to growl. He stood in front of Wooyoung protectively when he noticed the sudden fear that washed over him. "S-Sir please, it's not what it looks like!" he whimpered.

"Wooyoung, who are these people?" San asked lowly.

The man scoffed at him. "Who am I? I'm the owner of the club down the road, and that bitch over there is violating the rules. What did I tell you Kitten? No outside relationships. Bad for business. Now come here." Ignoring San's protests, Wooyoung pushed past him. He shuffled over to his employer with his head down, awaiting his punishment.

The man grabbed Wooyoung's chin then delivered three harsh slaps across his face. Wooyoung whimpered, trying his best to hold back his tears. Crying just meant a worse punishment. "Now what do we say?"

"I-I'm sorry sir. It w-won't happen again."

"There's a good kitten." Wooyoung looked utterly dejected and San couldn't stand it. He felt his hands twitch uncontrollably, the rest of his body following suit as he tried to contain his urge to do anything drastic. That is until Wooyoung's boss hit him once again. A backhand slap that drew blood from his sharp rings that cut across the teen's cheek. That was all it took for San to snap.

A sudden crack was heard from one of the body guards, his body dead on the ground with his head broken in the opposite direction. The other bodyguard quickly pulled out his gun, searching for San, who had vanished.

Wooyoung furrowed his brow in confusion then soon gasped in fear when he heard a distorted chuckle echoing through the alleyway. The air around them seemed colder and the remaining three began to shiver. The next thing they knew, the other body guard was down as well, death by the same fate as his co-worker. This time, San looked over the dead body, admiring his work with a malicious and satisfied smile that stretched across his face.

"W-What the hell!?" The boss shrieked. San's head slowly turned in his direction, the smile still on his face. The moment they made eye contact, the man began to twitch. His eyes rolling behind his head and limbs breaking in agony as millions of chaotic and destructive voices rang through his head. "Get out of my head!" The man cried, falling to his knees in pure despair. San couldn't help but laugh at the disturbing sight.

"Before you die, anything you wanna say?"

"Go to hell!" San continued to grin. Foam drizzled out of the spazzing man's mouth, a painful scream leaving his lips.

"Been there, done that, I'll see you there." With a single snap of San's fingers, the man finally dropped dead.

It took a moment for San to reel himself in, but when he did, the first thing he saw was Wooyoung cowering in the corner. San gasped and quickly rushed to his side. "Wooyoung are you okay-"

The younger screamed and pushed him away, his eyes shut in fear. San took a step back. He glanced down at the three dead bodies then back at the terrified state Wooyoung was in. Out of all the things he could be scared of, San never wanted any of those things to be him. "I-Is it over?" Wooyoung whispered.

"It's over Wooyoung." The blonde stood and quickly rushed into San's arms, tears running down his cheek. San silently stroked his hair as he waited for him to calm down.

He had a lot to explain.
