*Hongjoong's Inferno*

Not at me laughing at the way y'all wanted to murder Yeosang in the last chapter.

And sorry for the late update! I've been having a hard time getting my thoughts on paper...Also, I'm not sure how long the next chapter will take me to get out. After the Blood Moon saga, I might take a break from this story just to collect my thoughts or work on my other two books since I want to wrap one up them up (don't quote me on that though I might change my mind later).

Both angels were gasping for air within seconds of landing. While they had tied the unconscious chaos demon in Mingi's basement, the idea that he could escape still loomed over them. They could only pray San wouldn't wake up any time soon. As the two angels rested, Mingi had tried to clean some of their scars but no matter what, the blood never stopped. "You two shouldn't go back out, what if your wounds don't heal?"

"We will be fine," Yunho muttered. "After all, It's our duty to deal with rogue demons, even if it means getting hurt in the process." Mingi frowned at that but Yunho once again assured him that they would be alright.

Meanwhile, Wooyoung was sitting on the couch with his legs pulled to his chest and a permanent expression of fear on his pale face. With San knocked out, any chaos he may have caused had died down, but that didn't mean things weren't still horrible.

He could hear horrid cries in the distance, whether it be people or some sort of unidentifiable monster. The red moon and sky created an unsettling atmosphere that made him shiver with fright and Wooyoung had no idea how San, or anyone for that matter, could live in such conditions. "So, you're the one dating the demon, huh? Great choice in a partner you made."

Yeosang here wasn't making things any better either. His constant and snide remarks, though entertaining to listen to, were not very fun to receive. "What's it to you? Shouldn't you angels be stopping this whole mess? From the looks of it, you're pretty useless."

"I'd hold your tongue if I were you, mundane." Yeosang spat. "If I wanted to, I could send you right back to have your soul devoured. You're lucky I'm so nice." The blonde scoffed at his statement and hung his head down while going back to trying to distract himself from the hellish sounds outside.

Mingi noticed how distressed Wooyoung was and his heart went out to him. As an adult the entire situation was terrifying enough, he couldn't imagine how the young teen must've been feeling. He figured should say something yet the moment he stood - the entire room flashed. No longer was Mingi looking at his living room, but a stunning studio apartment with a view of all of Seoul. Wooyoung was gone. Instead, a different man with beautiful blonde locks turned to him, his smile bright.

"You're my one and only Mingi." He told him. Mingi felt tears pool in his eyes as he desperately reached out to him - but he was gone. Mingi blinked and it all just faded away. He pulled his hand back and clutched it close to his chest.

"I miss you..."

"Yeosang, get ready." Mingi heard Yunho say. "There is much work to be done." Yeosang nodded at his hyung and brushed himself off. He gave Mingi a nod before meeting Yunho outside. He found himself leaning against the taller angel for support the moment he stepped foot outside, however. Their fight with Shiber took a lot out of him, with the demonic rays from Blood Moon making it even harder to function properly. Yunho held him up to offer his support and began scanning the area for their next demon in question.

"Conserve your strength, Yeosang, this will not be an easy one."

With that being said, Yunho took off and Yeosang slowly followed after him. They carefully dodged random attacks from demons below while trying not to get lost in the thick fog. "Next is Hongjoong, this will either be easy or life-threatening so do not say a word."

Yeosang rolled his eyes at such a statement. "And why is that? Is he easily triggered or something?" Though he was mostly facetious, he wasn't expecting Yunho to say:

"Yes. Hongjoong is a demon of fire, who are already known to be quite aggressive, but he also worked torturing humans before coming to Earth. No doubt he will know how to inflict real damage. Keep on guard and stay quiet." Yeosang groaned but still nodded along.

The fog eventually began to fall once they got closer to the outskirts of the city and was instead replaced by a harsh layer of ash and flames. Both angels coughed at the sudden intrusion on their lungs and found themselves sweltering under the immense amount of heat. "Hyung!" Yeosang exclaimed when he saw the tip of Yunho's wings begin to flare. He cursed, quickly flying to the ground, though he yelped the moment he made contact with it.

He could feel the dirt sear the soles of his shoes and he hastily patted his wings up to get back into the air. "It's so hot!" Yeosang groaned.

"Is it now?" Replied Yunho sarcastically.

They had to be getting closer. At least Yunho hoped they were. Any longer in this heat and they were sure to burn up in flames. The angels continued to scout the area, zooming into any corner they came across in the hopes of finding Hongjoong. Eventually, the duo entered a clearing. It was a grassy field miles away from the city. It seemed so ordinary that they thought they had surely entered the wrong area, the only interesting thing in sight being a lone lake in the distance. Just before they turned around, Yeosang caught something out the corner of his eye.

"Hyung! Over there!" Yunho's eyes travelled over to where the young blonde was pointing. Right in the middle of the field, a fiery figure could be seen sitting with his hands in his lap and his eyes closed. It was Hongjoong for sure. The two of them slowly flew behind him. Yeosang inched his weapon out, but Yunho quietly urged him to put it away.

"I see you two found me..." Hongjoong spoke. He hadn't even turned to face them. He only sat there, his eyes remaining shut. Yeosang, still ready to attack, stood in a defensive stance. However, Yunho took a much different approach. Instead of a sneak attack, he placed himself beside the demon of fire, sitting cross-legged while looking off into the distance.

This was the only area that wasn't blazing hot. Everything that surrounded Hongjoong was, yet where they all stood was clear, "You must enjoy the quiet," Said Yunho once he realised how calm their surroundings were.

Hongjoong hummed at him. "I do. I know everything around me is chaotic, possibly in shambles. But as long as I find peace within myself, I can keep my sanity."

"I see. Even during the Blood Moon?"

The demon of fire chuckled lightly. "Yes, even during the Blood Moon. I had heard rumours of it but knew that even if I was on Earth when it occurred, I could remain unaffected. Peace of mind comes with years of practice after all, and I'm lucky I had so many factors that tested my patience in my youth to help."

The duo heard Yeosang scoff and that's when Yunho realised everything was about to go horribly wrong. "Should've taught that lesson to your son." Hongjoong's eyes finally snapped open. Yunho grimaced when he saw the blazing red in them.

"Why is that?" Hongjoong's voice had dropped an octave, something that should have signalled Yeosang to shut his mouth; But when has he ever done that?

"He's an absolute mess. You should be thankful we were able to knock him out before he caused some serious damage. If it were up to me, he'd be dead by now." There was silence. Yunho turned to glare at the younger angel, a reaction Yeosang was confused by.

That is until Hongjoong's chest started to rise and fall. His hair began to flair even brighter as he slowly turned around. "You...did...WHAT!?"

"RUN!" Yeosang's eyes went wide and launched towards Yunho, zooming into the air before Hongjoong could grab them. It was no use, Yeosang was hardly two feet in the air when Hongjoong grabbed his ankle and slammed him to the ground.

"WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY SON?" Bellowed the furious demon. Yeosang was still groaning in pain, leaving Yunho to answer him.

"Nothing!" He assured him desperately. "Isn't that right, Yeosang?" The younger angel mustered an annoyed shrug.

"How to fuck am I supposed to know? I stabbed him, I didn't nurse him back to health!" Yunho was a kind person, he really was - but if there was ever a time he wanted to commit a murder it would be now. Clearly Hongjoong thought the same.

He was seething. "I'm going to give you five seconds...and if you say one more thing, I will not hesitate to kill both of you." Yunho slowly inched up, his hands held in defence.

"No need to get violent," He spoke calmly as not to further anger the demon. "Let's talk about things first. Right Yeosang-"

By then, Yeosang had already pulled out his sword. Flying into the air, he charged straight towards him with his weapon. Yunho's eyes went wide when, even at full speed, Hongjoong managed to stop the angel's sword with his bare just before it hit his chest. His expression darkened, and that's when Yeosang finally realised that he was in trouble. "So...You've chosen death," He said much too calmly. "Very well then."

Then with just one hand, he snapped the sword in half, making Yeosang's eyes widen with shock.

Every ounce of tranquillity he may have had before seemed to shoot out of Hongjoong in the form of bright flames leaving his body. Yunho was quick to duck and roll off the way, summoning his weapon once he stood to his feet. With Yeosang's speed, he was able to dodge the constant lines of fire but was still grazed on both his legs. The angel winced yet was able to shake it off for the time being. Just before Yunho flew to meet him, he noticed the fire ridden land from outside the field racing towards them. They needed to get this under control before they were scorched alive.

He was too distracted to notice a bright ball of fire being hurled his way. Just a foot before it hit his body, it was suddenly blocked by a pair of wings. "Yeosang!"

"Quit standing around hyung!" He not so subtly pointed towards the angry demon storming towards them and Yunho got the hint to get the hell out the way. Both angels shot into the air but not without being followed by several pillars of fire shooting after them. They tried their best to manoeuvre around them and mislead Hongjoong as they did with San but it had no effect. Hongjoong was able to pursue one while attacking the other with ease.

"Why is he even faster than San?!" Cried Yeosang, looking back continuously to see that the demon was always just a few feet away from him. Yunho couldn't do much in the way of help, constantly waving off balls of fire that were being thrown his way. He could feel himself losing his strength and would fall to the ground just to give himself a moment to breathe, only to roll out the way yet again when he saw spirals of fire coming at him, which he ever just barely escaped. His eyes kept travelling to the red ground storming towards them. Pretty soon there wouldn't be anything left for them to stand on.

Both angels were out of their element here. Hongjoong was a trained and aggressive demon who was persistent with each of his attacks. None of their powers had any effect on him either. Speed only meant Yeosang was able to get by him or momentarily confuse him, but he could only fly for so long without starting to feel the pressure from the Blood Moon. Yunho's power to control light had no use either. They were completely outmatched and were getting destroyed by the minute.

Yunho had to think, and he had to think fast. "Hongjoong!" He shouted at the top of his lungs. That drew the demon's attention towards him. The moment he was distracted, Yeosang saw his opportunity and kicked him in the face, sending him to the ground. Yunho glared at him yet again. "Stop Yeosang." He scolded. The other angel looked at him curiously but was still ready when Hongjoong got back on his feet.

With all the energy he could muster, Yunho stretched his arm out and threw out a long string of light that found its way around Hongjoong's body and held him in place. The demon growled furiously, struggling in the iron grip of the rope while Yunho gathered his breath. "Good idea hyung!" Yeosang praised. "You tie him down while I finish him off."

"We'll be doing quite the opposite, thank you very much." Yeosang gawked at this. His face remained in shock as Yunho simply started to walk towards the demon.

"Hyung...calm yourself," He said in a low and soothing voice. "You're not violent...And you would not like to hurt either of us or anyone..." Hongjoong only hissed at him as the ropes around him began to weaken.

Yeosang knew this wasn't going to go as planned. He searched around frantically for some sort of solution before things went south.

"You think you can just talk me down?" Hongjoong huffed in a gruff and low voice. "You think I can just let you go when you tried to kill my son?! I'LL RIP YOU TO SHREDS-" He didn't get to finish his sentence when a splash of freezing water fell onto him. The demon screamed in agony as it soaked him. Yunho looked up to see Yeosang flying above them with a grin.

Hongjoong's once blazing hair turned to a sudden shade of white as he fell to his knees while he, quite literally, fizzled out. Yeosang met Yunho's side and leaned onto his shoulder for a bit of support after some of his energy left his body. Yunho helped him stand upright while still keeping his eyes on the demon in front of them gasping for air.

Hongjoong clutched his chest, suffocating under his drenched clothes while he attempted to reheat himself. "This is sad..." Muttered Yeosang. Yunho moved away and let the other angel fall to the ground.

"Is...Is San alright...?" They heard Hongjoong gasp out. "D...Don't...Don't k-kill my son..." Was the last thing he managed to say before collapsing to the ground.

------------------------------

"Demons really do have emotions too..." Yunho muttered aloud. Beside him, Yeosang was just as shocked by this revelation as well. It made him feel a slight sting of guilt at how bluntly he went to kill San, even if it didn't work, then proceed to tell his father. The two sat across from Hongjoong, silently waiting for him to awake once they placed him in the heated section of the field.

Eventually, the demon's body twitched ever so slightly when he finally began to regain consciousness. "Hyung...Are you okay?" Asked Yunho once Hongjoong sat up.

Hongjoong responded with a light grumble and held his head. He ran his finger through his head with a gasp and felt around at how cold it was. "My hair..."

"You were depowered," Yunho explained. "I am sure you will find your strength back in a few moments, but first we want to know if you are open to conversation." Hongjoong took a deep breath in and out as he closed his eyes then reopened them with a nod.

"Your son is fine," Hongjoong let out a sigh of relief once Yunho told him this. "There may be a bruise or two-"

"In the chest." Yunho irritably slapped his hand over Yeosang's mouth.

"But I assure you he will be okay. As for you, I would like to know how you are feeling." Hongjoong tilted his head. The last thing he expected was to be asked for his own thoughts. In truth, he was somewhat expecting them to have tried to kill him by now.

"I feel...deflated..." He said honestly with an airy chuckle. "I don't do too well with the cold or water for that matter. As I'm sure you can tell...I just hope I didn't get too carried away." Hongjoong hung his head. "No one got hurt...right?"

"Other than my leg and my pride, I would say you're just fine," Yeosang remarked once Yunho eventually removed his hand.

"Oh thank goodness," Sighed Hongjoong in relief, as if Yeosang's pains meant nothing to him. "I thought I might have caused some serious damage." Yeosang's body would say otherwise. With help from Yunho, Hongjoong slowly made his way up. He gave him a thankful nod before shaking his head.

"You should rest," Yunho told him. "We'll take you to Mingi's home and allow you to gather your strength there with your son. Do not be alarmed when you see him, I assure you he is fine." Though Hongjoong looked at him somewhat sceptically, he nodded nonetheless.

When they arrived, he was greeted with wary looks of silence from both Mingi and Wooyoung, as the trio trudged into the living room. Yunho sent the brunette a look telling him not to worry yet he remained cautious. So Hongjoong figured it would be best if he were the one to clear the tension. "Mingi..." He said slowly, then nodded towards Wooyoung. "Wooyoung. This must be pretty stressful for you, isn't it?" They glanced between each other, before looking back at Hongjoong.

"It's hella stressful..." Wooyoung sighed. "Hell seems like a horrible place."

Hongjoong didn't take offence to this and simply chuckled. "Trust me, there have been worse days down there than this. But I can see how it would be a lot to take in for you." Realising how calm Hongjoong was, Mingi let his shoulders fall in relief.

"Do you want some coffee hyung?" He asked.

"That would be wonderful."

While Hongjoong distracted Mingi with pleasant conversation, the two angels were left to collapse in exhaustion. They still managed to pull themselves onto the sofa but couldn't bring themselves to do much else. "Are you two alright?" Wooyoung questioned with worry.

Yeosang huffed at him as he encased himself in his wings. "We'll live..." He grumbled out. Wooyoung only rolled his eyes and stood to his feet, suddenly saying he needed to go to the bathroom.

As he entered the hall, Wooyoung strangely began to feel his legs give out. He clutched his head while the room began to spin and shift into something he was all too familiar with. Suddenly, he was on the ground, a choker around his neck that constricted his neck as he felt the rope attached to it get tugged over and over again. He felt a sting on his ass as the man above him smacked him again and again while the others laughed at him. "What a whore you are." He taunted.

"I'm a whore, I'm a whore..." Wooyoung chanted to appease them. They defiled him every day just so he could help pay rent. He felt dirty. Tossed from one rich asshole to the next as they all degraded him as he performed and pleased them.

Wooyoung blinked. Still on his knees, he was pushed to the ground. "Eomma!" He cried. The woman scowled at him and pulled him up just to smack him across the face.

"I refuse to have a sinner in my presence! Why couldn't you die instead of your father!" She shouted angrily before throwing a duffel bag at him. "Get out! I refuse to share a home with a thing like you! Whore."

He shuffled up, clutching his chest while it fell up and down. He was going crazy. He had to be.

"We all know what you do for a living." Wooyoung heard Jongho sneer. "You whore."

"Don't you have rich dudes to suck off or something?"

"You're the school slut, aren't you?"

"I'm sure you know what to do, don't you? My little whore."

"L-Leave me alone, LEAVE ME ALONE!" Wooyoung cried. He slid against the wall, tears streaming down his cheeks while he tried his hardest to block out everything they were saying. They were wrong, they were all wrong!

Wooyoung flinched back when felt someone gently take his hands. Hongjoong crouched in front of the boy in concern and wiped the ever-flowing tears from his cheeks. "Am...Am I g-going crazy?"

"No Wooyoung, you're not." He sighed. Hongjoong sat down next to him. He let Wooyoung calm himself down for a moment before he continued. "The human mind is very weak to demonic and angelic forces. It's dangerous for you all to be conscious during this time because your deepest desires and fears can take over. That, and the fact that some of us want to steal your souls..." He mumbled that part under his breath to not frighten Wooyoung any further.

"H-How did you know I was here?" Questioned Wooyoung with his knees pulled to his chest.

"I didn't. I was about to check on San but saw you talking to yourself on the verge of tears."

Hearing his friend's name, Wooyoung sat up instantly and faced Hongjoong in a sharp turn. "San? I need to see him! I have to make sure he's alright!" The demon quickly held him down before he could rush off, shaking his head at him. He told Wooyoung it wouldn't be wise because, even if San was awake, neither of them would be in the right headspace. Of course, he understood where he was coming from but Wooyoung was still desperate to see him. queen-sized

Nevertheless, Hongjoong escorted him back to the living room while he went to check on San on his own. He made his way to the basement and flickered on the dull light once he reached the ground floor. Instantly, his breath hitched at what he saw.

Still unconscious, San's arms and legs were tightly tied behind his back with a cloth gagging his mouth, likely Yeosang's doing. Hongjoong rushed to his side and held him in his arms. He felt his hand become stained by the dark blood on his son's shirt where both Yunho and Yeosang had stabbed him as he clenched his fist. He breathed in and out, trying to remain calm for the sake of everyone upstairs but couldn't hide the fact that he was fuming.

The demon's hair flared up, returning to its normal shade as if his anger flew out with it. "You'll be alright Sannie," He sighed. "We'll all be alright..."
