*Angel Among Us*

The day had been rather pleasant. Birds were chirping, the sun was shining and there wasn't rain do for at least a week. To Mingi, it was the perfect opportunity to stroll through the park and relax. Since he had the day off nor did he have any classes, he decided it would be nice to spend some time with just himself. Or so he thought.

The man walked over to his usual spot, a bench towards the edge of the lake. It was a gorgeous area, surrounded by a rainbow of flowers that filled the perimeter with the sweet smell of spring. It was surprising that more people didn't visit. Regardless, he was thankful for the peace. The bench Migi usually sat at was worn but charming. Covered in carvings, some even belonging to the brunette himself, he'd been coming to this very spot since he was young. His seat, however, seemed to be occupied.

"Yunho?" Mingi said curiously. He spotted the man sitting with his head down and eyes closed, looking nearly asleep. Yunho slowly rose his head to glance at him. "It seems we just keep running into each other, huh?" Mingi smiled. He placed himself down next to Yunho, with the older looking somewhat surprised by this action. Mingi turned to him and grinned. "It must be fate."

"Fate, you say?" Yunho mused as he gazed over at Mingi. The brunette had taken a book out, his hair blowing in the wind ever so slightly as the golden rays of the sun illuminated his delicate face while Yunho felt his heart begin to pound yet again. It confused him to no end. "I suppose so..."

For a while, it was silent - with Mingi focusing mainly on his book rather than Yunho. It surprised him since he seemed much more talkative before. Had Yunho done something wrong? "Mingi?" The younger hummed a response, still not tearing his eyes from his story. "Have...have I done something to offend you?"

Mingi's eyes widened and he finally turned to him as he shook his head profusely. "Why would you think that?" He asked.

"You were much more conversant before. I figured I had done something to deter you." Mingi smiled at him and shook his head once again.

"It's nothing like that. This is just my quiet space," he explained as he looked off into the distance. "The city can be so busy and it feels like I never truly get a moment to myself. Except for when I'm here..." Mingi's eyes trailed the carvings on the bench till his eyes landed on a particular one - Two initials surrounded by a crudely made heart. "This spot has always been special to me."

"You seem to be upset," Yunho noted, moving closer to him. "Shall I comfort you?" Mingi was taken aback by the directness of his offer yet smiled nonetheless. He leaned against his shoulder, closing his eyes and resting comfortably. Yunho embraced him right back and wrapped an arm around the younger man's shoulder. Mingi found him sighing with content. It had been awhile since he felt so secure. The calm atmosphere around him made it nearly impossible for him to not to slowly drift off.

That is until something wet hit his nose, then again, and again. Mingi cringed as water slowly began to pour onto them. "No way," he groaned. "The forecast said there was no rain for a week!" He quickly removed his jacket and held it over Yunho and himself to shield them.

Surprisingly, Yunho wasn't too bothered by the rain. Rather, he looked fascinated by it. He stuck out his hand to touch it but flinched back once it hit him in awe. "It's probably going to get heavier. Do you want me to give you a lift?" Asked Mingi.

"I'll walk." Yunho calmly replied .

"I don't think so." Mingi grabbed his hand and ran to the direction of his vehicle. Yunho made no effort to push him away, simply going with the motion. Once the duo got to Mingi's car, the younger pulled out his phone and handed it to Yunho.

"Type in your address," he instructed. Yunho looked down at the device in confusion. He tapped at it lightly causing it to brighten. Yunho awed as if it were the most magical thing in the world and began pressing at random buttons, trying to figure out what they did. "Um...Yunho?" Mingi watched as he fiddled with the camera, taking odd photos and videos in pure wonder. The two-toned brunette sighed, but grinned nonetheless. "How about this, tell me where you stay and I'll just drop you off?" At that, the stoic expression Mingi was used to slowly creeped back onto Yunho's face.

"I'm not sure." He said as he handed Mingi back his device. "Drop me anywhere, I will be fine."

"Wait, you don't have anywhere to go?" Yunho shook his head. Mingi furrowed his brow. This whole time, did he really have nowhere to stay? Mingi couldn't just leave him, not in this weather.

Not asking any further questions, Mingi started the car. Yunho didn't say anything for the remainder of the ride, deciding instead to stare out the window since he enjoyed seeing the way everything passed by them so quickly. Around twenty minutes later, Mingi parked at a building. He grabbed his keys then ushered Yunho to hurry inside.

He let out a groan, throwing his things onto a table and shook the water off himself. "You'll be staying with me," he told Yunho matter of factly.

"Pardon?" He responded incredulously. The blonde's eyes winded in confusion when Mingi took his hand.

"You heard me." Mingi smiled. He led Yunho down the hall to a small guest bedroom on the ground floor. It wasn't too decorated since Mingi hardly ever used it, but it had a bed, bathroom, desk and fireplace which was all that was needed right now. "You can stay for as long as you need. I'll be upstairs okay?"

Yunho gave him a curt nod, silently watching him leave the room. Did he not get a say in this? He glanced out the window at the pouring rain. Well, it was better than being out there, wasn't it? Nevertheless, he still found himself being discouraged.

As far as Yunho knew, they were complete strangers. Why was Mingi being so nice? Was it some sort of trap? Yunho decided to find out. Slowly, he crept upstairs to what he assumed to be Mingi's bedroom and with no hesitation, he barged in. Yunho faltered, however, when he saw that Mingi was in the middle of removing his soaking wet shirt.

The younger flinched at the sudden entrance, quickly turning to face Yunho. "Y-You should've knocked!" He exclaimed, but Yunho wasn't listening. He stood in both awe and utter confusion at the perfectly toned body Mingi possessed. The water glistening on his defined chest, the flushed look on his face, he was just so perfect and yet again he felt his heart harshly beat in his chest. That odd sensation that he couldn't stand. It had to be caused by Mingi, and that realisation made something in him snap.

Yunho ran at him full force, shoving him against the wall and pinning him down by his arms. "What are you?" He shouted angrily. Mingi gasped in surprise and began to wither uselessly in Yunho's iron grip.

"W-What are you talking about?" He cried though Yunho wasn't moved by his incoming tears.

"Are you some sort of demon of seduction? I'm open to negotiation, but I will not be won over!" His eyes were lit with anger causing Mingi to shrink immediately.

"I-I don't know what you're talking about! Let me go!" He pleaded.

Yunho tilted his head and scoffed. "Lies! No human can possess such a perfect body! Return to Hell at once or I will be required to take you there by force!" Yunho finally let him go, ready to summon his weapon for a possible attack, yet Mingi didn't move. He only stood there frozen in fear, awaiting a possible death. Yunho narrowed his eyes. He didn't sense anything coming nor was there a demonic aura of any sorts. It had to be a trick right? "Why are you not moving? Are you not ready to attack?" Yunho cursed at Mingi's confusion. The younger was still just standing there. "Are you...not the demon I was sent to vanquish?"

"D-Demon? Yunho...who the hell are you?" This isn't right. Yunho should be asking him that. Why is he so confused? Unless you really was-

"Just a human...You're only a human..." Yunho ran his hand through his golden locks, sighing in dismay. He slowly made his way towards Mingi, who flinched at the sudden move. "My deepest apologies," Yunho said sincerely. "I feel as though an explanation is in order."

The two men were in the living room, sat in chairs facing across each other. Mingi had made two cups of tea for them both and patiently waited for Yunho to explain himself. "I am an angel," he said bluntly. He didn't wait for Mingi's reaction and continued. "I had been informed that a pair of demons moved to this area, and I was sent to watch over them. I have yet to find them but...I found you."

"What does that mean-"

"Mingi," Yunho interrupted. "You have an affect on me. An effect I could only associate with some sort of demon. Are you completely certain you are not from Hell?" Mingi gave him a slow nod. "I see..."

The brunette could see a semblance of disappointment across Yunho's otherwise emotionless face and Mingi frowned as he tried to rack his brain around anything strange that could help him in his quest. "Well, the only people that have moved here recently are Hongjoong, Seonghwa and their son, but I doubt they're demons."

Besides the odd teleporting, glowing eyes and occasional growling and or hissing, Mingi could say they were a fairly normal family. "I understand. I won't trouble you any further."

Yunho put his cup down then got up from his seat but Mingi quickly pulled him to his side. "Wait," he said. "You should stay. It'll make things easier if you have a place to go every night."

Much of Yunho was urging to deny him and go but part of his mind was telling him to stay. He wanted to explain that he didn't get as fatigued as humans thus not necessarily needing accommodation and yet he enjoyed the company. The angel was starting to take a strange liking to Mingi, and so he nodded, silently affirming that he'd stay. "Really?" Beamed Mingi in disbelief. Yunho sat back in his seat, nodding once again. "Then we should get the room up to par! We can paint it and add new furniture and-"

"You are not going to ask any questions?" Mingi stopped. He supposed he did have a few things on his mind.

"If you're an angel, why don't you have any wings?" Yunho figured that'd be one of the first things he asked. He swirled his spoon around his cup of tea with a hum.

"Such appendages simply do not appear when on Earth. This goes for demons as well. That is, unless you are of high status. Even still, they choose not to show their wings out of respect."

"Respect for what?"

Yunho glanced at him. "Your eyes."

"Oh...I see. And demons, what are they like?" Yunho tensed slightly, the grip on his cup getting tighter.

"It depends on the demon. There are many types, demons of chaos, darkness and seduction being the most infuriating to deal with. There is a demon for nearly every aspect of life and then an angel to combat them for balance. Most are extremely territorial, unreasonable and inhumane others are simply going through the motion. Either way, I do not wish for you to be in contact with any since I am sure they will show no mercy on your mortal soul."

Mingi couldn't help but shudder. He hoped he'd never never get into conflict with a demon if this is what they were like. Feeling slightly weary, Mingi decided to change the topic. He was curious as to what kind of angel Yunho was. The older man clicked his tongue at the question with an ever so slight grin like he took pride in the answer he was about to give. "I just so happen to be an angel of the light. I can bend and manipulate it to my liking while transitioning seamlessly to and from wherever it touches. Although, I will admit that my powers are weakened during the night, I tend not to work during that time. So it is not much of an issue."

Mingi was in pure awe. This had to be the most surreal experience he had ever been in. The man in front of him claimed to be an angel, and while there wasn't much proof to back up his statement, his display of strength prior was just enough to convince him. Although Mingi was silently praying he hadn't been entertaining the antics of some sort of druggie this entire time. "You said that I have a weird effect on you. What did you mean by that-"

"I think that's enough questions for today." The angel abruptly stood to his feet. He placed his cup with a thankful nod then turned to leave. "Perhaps we can continue this conversation another day." He left just like. Retreating to his new room while Mingi was left by himself.

"Song Mingi, what have you gotten yourself into?"
