Intro: Saint To Kandiaru

SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA.

While Saint lazed around inside the Cartenon Temple, Kandiaru saw the young woman via the eyes of the Statue of God. He was on the verge of laughing as he observed her rubbing her fingers against his armed statues. She didn't look to be in a hurry to leave such a harrowing place where others had died in cold blood.

Perhaps her humanity isn't as profound as he believed.

"Will you tell me everything I need to know so I can leave?" Her harsh voice resounded, reverberating around the temple's biggest statue. The Statue of God gave his usual ominous grin, and Kandiaru found himself amused.

A massive stone statue of a hooded angel with six wings, eight arms, brilliant red eyes, black sclera, and a thin, oval-shaped purple gemstone in the center of his forehead was Kandiaru's appearance. He also had an eerie, unsettling smile, much like the Statue of God.

"Guess you're not much of a scenery enjoyer eh?"

Saint rolled her honey-yellow eyes and hopped elegantly atop a sword-wielding statue. "Let's just say that I don't have any patience for idle chit-chat." Crossing her arms, she gave a respectful response in return. Not wanting to waste any more of their time, Kandiaru chose to proceed with his speech.

"As of right now, You'll be labeled as Player 2
of my System. Besides your existing powers, you'll have access to the following.."

Saint had to mouth her usual "confirm" to proceed when a notification tab suddenly appeared in front of her.

The screen changed to a list of abilities, giving Jin-woo, for example, access to quests with special rewards, a leveling system with various skills and stats, an infinite inventory to store various magical items, and even an in-built store selling goods for the in-game gold currency that he earned each time he defeated an enemy in combat.

"That's cool, although I probably won't be using most of this stuff unless it's crucial—or at least it'll be my last line of defense." The statue understood he was captivated by her responses; this was unfamiliar and interesting to him.

At some point, Kandiaru will make Saint the vessel of the Light Fragment. Of course, all in due time; he wasn't merely being polite. With an extremely contemptuous attitude toward humanity, Kandiaru was a highly egocentric and insane man who took tremendous joy in his work.

"Your mission is to help guide Jin-Woo and navigate
your way through the world..Don't let your influence harm him or anyone else important on the outside world."

Saint nodded her head, a bit pleased with the answers he provided. She would have a new beginning rather than a confined, dull existence with a tyrannical mother observing her every move.

"What about the language barrier, housing, or monetary costs—?"

"The System or you will cover that much, no need to
ask me such unnecessary questions."

Saint sucked her teeth and glared. "Rude piece of shit."

"I heard that."

"Anyway, where is Sung now? Since I'm not very adept at earning people's trust, I'd hate to intimidate him." With her hands tucked into her pockets, Saint ignored the architect's puppet's straying gaze.

"He's currently in the local hospital after his incident
with The Double Dungeon. You'll need to make your way there soon, who knows when he'll awaken."

A black metal door materialized in front of the god statue's altar, as it raised its massive hand in the air. While some carried musical instruments, others were armed with weapons. The musical instruments played a gentle song while the individuals brandishing weapons blazed a dazzling blue light.

Saint took this as a sign to finally leave, she jumped down slowly walking towards the gate. Her black metal key, which she had used to enter the cartenon temple, was in her hands.

"I guess this is where we part ways for the time being." She wasn't sure if she would ever see the architect, so her voice was riddled with uncertainty.

"Don't worry about that and focus on your mission.
We'll see each other again."

Though she is composed, she sighs and adjusts her worn-out white hoodie, excited about what the system might hold for her. "It's not like anyone is waiting for me back home, so I'll take all the time I need."

She throws her long hair behind her left shoulder and scoffs as she enters the entry point.
