Hospitalized
Orion P.O.V
I saw as the man, who appeared to be Helena's father, turn his back to me and reach for what was called a bat. A tool used for a game. I forget the name. Right then I knew something bad was about to happen. The man closed the door. I turned off my vehicle and listened. It was a long silence before I heard the screams off a girl, coming from inside the house.
"Helena!"
I ran to the door and kicked it down. I heard Helena's screams even louder. They were coming from upstairs. I ran up the stairs and followed the sound of her screams.
"Helena!"
"Orion, help me!!!"
I pushed the door to what appeared to be her room. I saw that the man was beating Helena with the tool. Rage filled me up completely.
"Helena!"
The man turned to face me and swung at me, hitting me in the jaw.
"Orion!!"
Helena screamed as I went down.
"Stay out of this boy!"
He said as I got back up. He tried swinging at me once more. I blocked the bat with my arm and punched the man in the solor plexus. He hunched over as I round kicked him in the head. He fell back and held his hands to his face yelling in pain. I turned to Helena who could barely move. I picked her up as carefully as I could, trying not to hurt her.
"Orion. Run. Get out of here."
She said weakly as I successfully picked her up.
"I'm not leaving you."
I said with no room to argue.
"No you don't."
I heard the man say as I turned to face him. He held a gun in his hands. Reacting quickly, I ran out of the room as he pulled the trigger. I felt a sharp pain in my back, near my shoulder bone. I grunted as I heard a second shot and Helena scream. I looked down and saw that she had been shot near the heart.
"Helena! No!"
I ran even faster down the stairs and out the door. I sat her on my lap as carefully, but quickly as I could and drove to the nearest hospital.
"Helena, just hold on."
I could feel her looking up at me as I drove.
"Orion, please......don't tell anyone.......about this."
I said nothing as we had finally arrived at the hospital.
"Please someone. Help me. She's been shot."
A man came up to me and checked her
"Get a gurnie!"
He said as a nurse came running in with the medical bed. The doctor took Helena from me and placed her on it. Wait. What was happening to me? My vision blurred. Was it from the gunshot wound? This shouldn't be affecting me. I couldn't stay conscious. I was surrounded by darkness.
General Narration
Orion had collapsed on the ground as different Doctors and Nurses began to tend to him as he was aslo placed on a gurnie and taken into the same direction as Helena was.
"Dr. Raava, we are losing the girl. She's lost to much blood."
A nurse called out to the doctor.
"We have to extract the bullet from her body. We must work fast or we'll lose her. Prepare her for surgery."
"Yes doctor."
The nurse said as both Orion and Helena were taken into different surgery rooms.
Dr. Sampson's Surgery Room
One of the doctors, who was called Dr. Sampson, numbed Optimus as they began to clean the surrounding area of the wound. Once he was done with that he bagan to work on the hard part.
Dr. Raava's Surgery Room
"Dr. Raava we are losing the girl."
The nurse said to the doctor who had been attending to Helena.
"The bullet was pretty close to her heart and the blood won't stop."
The nurse said in a panic.
"Calm down. Rebecca get a sample of her blood and find out what blood type she is. Then find us a blood transfusion. Manuel I need you to stop the bleeding for a bit while I extract the bullet."
The nurse called Rebecca nodded and did as she was told. Manuel applied pressure to the wound. Not long after the bleeding had stopped the doctor began his work. He extracted the bullet extra carefully. Once he did Manuel covered up the wound once again.
Dr. Sampson's Surgery Room
Dr. Samson had successfully removed the bullet as his assistant, Nurse Dedee placed pressure on Orion's wound.
"Dedee, tell me when the bleeding stops. So I can begin sewing the wound."
"Yes Sir."
Dr. Raava's Surgery Room
"Dr. Raava the bleeding has stopped."
"Ok. Now lets get to work."
"Yes sir."
Dr. Raava began stitching up the hole in Helena's chest. It wasn't long before he was finished. By that time Nurse Rebecca had returned with two pints of Helena's blood type."
"Dr. Raava, forgive the delay. She was a B-."
"Very well. We're done here. All we need is the blood."
"Right."
Rebecca looked at Helena and sighed.
"She's so young."
She said with remorse.
"It makes me wonder what kind of people could do this to children."
Manuel commented. Dr. Raava nodded with a sigh.
"I'll go see how her friend is doing. You guys transfer her to a room of two. We'll be putting her friend in there too."
"Why what happened to him?"
Manuel asked not knowing Orion's case.
"Didn't you hear. He collapsed after we'd taken her in."
"I hope he's alright."
Rebecca said as Dr. Raava exited the room. Manuel began hooking the tube to Helena so the transfusion could begin. Once he was done, Rebecca and Manuel transported her to a different room. By the time they arrived with Helena, Orion had already been placed in the room. Dr. Raava and Dr. Sampson were talking to each other as Helena was hooked up to the monitors.
"How did she fare?"
Dr. Sampson asked Dr. Raava.
"The surgery was a success, but only time will tell."
Dr. Raava explained. Dr. Sampson sighed as he looked over both Orion and Helena.
"How was the boy?"
"The surgery went smoothly. He should be waking up soon."
Dr. Sampson explained with a tired voice. Dr. Raava nodded.
"Manuel. Have their been any attempt of contact?"
"No not-"
The sound of a phone was heard coming from Orion's jacket. Dr. Raava nodded as he went over and answered the call as he picked up the phone and put it on speaker.
"Hello?"
Manuel answered as the voice of an older man came on the phone.
"Who is this?"
The man questioned, figuring out that it wasn't Orion's voice. Manuel looked at Dr. Raava as he signaled to give the phone to him.
"This is Dr. Raava from Memorial Herman Hospital. Who am I speaking with?"
"I am Richard. Where is my nephew. Is Orion alright?"
The man asked, his voice laced with worry.
"He and a friend were shot. He is fine, but the girl. Only time will tell her state."
He said sympathetically.
"Thank you so much for informing me. I'll be right over."
The man thanked.
"My pleasure."
Dr. Raava replied as he hung up the phone.
