A Month and 2 Weeks Later

Helena P.O.V

   Well today was certainly going to be boring as every other god damn day. My first class of the day was boring old English and Reading or whatnot. I had five classes to attend to every day. My second was Math, third was Science, fourth was one my electives, and finally the fifth Social Studies. Still. I had to wait an entire school day so it could end. The only good thing about it was that I had a friend to talk to and hang out with.

   "Helena. What are you getting for lunch today?"

   Speaking of friends.

   "Oh hey, Orion. I'm having a turkey sandwich with lettuce, tomatoe, and avocado. You?"

   I asked as he smiled.

"Chicken sandwich with lettuce and mayo."

   " Ewwww. Mayo is disgusting."

   I said with a smile and a look of disgust.

   "No it is not. Turkey is."

   He said with a smile as I gasped and hit his shoulder.

   "Ow. What was that for? It's true."

   He said as he rubbed his shoulder.

   "No it's not. Turkey is healthy." 

   I said as I entered my I.D. number in the cashier's calculator thingy. Don't know what its called. Orion did the same as we went to our own table.

   "I could say the same about mayo."

   He said as he sat down. I laughed.

   "Uh-uh, sugar. Not at all. School mayo may be fat free, but its not real mayo, therefore it is not healthy."

   Orion looked away thinking about it. He sighed.

   "You've got a point there."

    He said as I laughed and took a bite out of my sandwich. We ate the rest of our lunch and talked more afterwards.

   "Helena how old are you?"

   He asks switching to a different topic.

   "That's sad. You've known me for a month and you don't know how old I am? Wow."

   I said as I took a sip of my water bottle. Orion chuckled as he hung his head.

   "Now that I think about it, you never actually told me."

   He said as I thought about it.

   "Damn. I hate it when you're right."

   I said as Orion chuckled.

   "Fifteen. Now. How old are you?"

   I said as I finished what was left of my sandwich. Orion finished his as well and finished his apple juice.

"Same age."

   He replied as he finished swallowing his beverage. I nodded as the bell rang to go back to class.

   "See in you in class."

   I said as I ran making him run. He stood up fast and ran after me.

   "What are you talking about. We're in the same class."

   He said as he caught up to me with ease.

   "You wanna race?"

   I asked as he gave me a sly look.

   "Challenge accepted."

   He responded as he took off. I smiled and ran faster.

   "You think you're a runner, Orion? Think you can beat me?"

   I asked as he looked at me and smiled.

   "I know I can."

   He ran even faster. I only smiled more and caught up to him once more.

   We kept running until we got to our third period. By the time we got there, Orion was out of breath, while I stood up tall and victorious.

    "Girl, you just ate. How can you still run that fast?"

   He asked as he stood up panting. I shrugged as he smiled and went inside our classroom.
