Jake POV

"ALERT! ALERT! A PATIENT HAS ESCAPED! ALERT! ALERT! HELENAS MARGARET DUVANCHII JUST ESCAPED!"

Hearing her full name still gave me chills. Still remembering the day she told me never to call her by her first name. It was also the first time we meet.

It was normal day in the 3rd grade. I wasn't very social and my only friends were Nicolas and Timothy. Both of which had gotten detention for filling the teacher's tea with.... something unspeakable. They're were the ones who got me into pranking and if I ever saw them again, I'll thank them. There was rumor going around about a new girl who had a super weird name. Helenas.

"A new victim" I thought.
I was laying down under a tree. I remember it felt like it was one of the hottest days in California. The tree provided shade and I was pretty cool. That's when I heard a scream. I sat up and turned my head to where it had came from.
I saw Berny and Vencine. Both are which the nastiest, most toughest 5th graders on the planet. Vencine was yelling at a girl while Berny was pinning her to the wall with one arm. She had olive skin, symmetrical face, and her hair was a hazel brown in boxing braids.
"Let me go you morons!" She cried out as she kicked the air.
"Give us your necklace and we'll think about it" said Vencine
I barely realized the necklace she had on. It was a silver chain, holding an Opal. The different colors shimmered and Hell! I would've stole it too.

The girl looked him straight in the eyes.... and spat on him.
Vencine stumbled back, whiping the spit of his face
"That's it girly!"
As I saw raise his fist, I ran to be in front of the girl and got knocked out cold.

I woke up in the nurses office with an ice pack on my cheek. I could hear my grandma outside, screaming how those boys should get expelled. With my blurry vision, i saw a girl pacing back and forth of the room. She turned around and saw me awake. Her eyes are what brought me to reality. They were a light Hazel, kind of matching her hair. Around the rim of her iris was a bright green.
"Hey... you're up" she said a little shaken.
"Yeah I... I guess" I said nervously
'Why am I so nervous?!' I thought.
"I wanted to say Thanks! You know... for protecting me and taking that punch for me".
"It was no big deal" my voice cracks aftet deal.
'I'm such an idiot!' I think again
A small giggle escaped her lips. It made me heart go warm and glued a small smile to my face. She sat down next to me in the small rolling chair next to the bed. We made eye-contact and it felt like the world had stopped. It was just the two of us.
"You're the new girl, huh?" I asked, with my eyebrows scrunched together.
"Ya, my name is Margaret" she said as she stuck out your hand.
I took and said the dumbest thing ever
"Wait, I thought your name was Helenas or something weird like that?"
'Something weird like that?! What is wrong with you Jake?!' I screamed in my head.
Her smile dropped her face, it turned dark and almost angry. She bended my hand backwards and I swear, it felt like my veins popped.

"You call me Helenas, I'll cut you down" she said looking straight in my eyes.
"Got it?!" She demanded
"Ye-yes ma'am!" I said, trying not to cry because of the pain.
"Good, and yours?" She asked, with a smile back on her face.
Holding my wrist, I said "Jake, Jake Wilson"
She got up and put her hands on her hips,
"Alright! Now that we know our names, I'll promise to watch your back if you watch mines. Deal?"
I looked up at her eyes, still getting lost in them,
"Ya, deal"....

I was brought back to reality when I heard the alarm go louder and louder. I looked up from the building we just came out of. I never noticed it had the red cross sign so I'm assume it's the hospital of the academy. I saw people with grapling hooks, black clothing and masks with goggles covering their eyes. I see them them come down the roof, one by one then two by two then it seemed like at least 30 of them came down from each building.

"We need to get inside Jake!" Ms. Violet shouted over the alarms.
"N-no! I'm not going anywhere until I know where Margaret is!"
As if on cue, I heard a scream coming from the castle-looking building. I look up and see Margaret.... flying in the air.

Hello my fellow readers! I know, I updated earlier this time! I'm doing this summer program at my new high school so I'm sorry that I'm taking long but I will not give up on this story. I'm also sorry that this chapter was short, I just wanted to get it over it already. I'm already working on a new chapter and yes, it's going to be Helenas' POV, but the chapter after that one is going to be someone's POV you guys won't suspect!!! MUAHAHAH!
