SUSPICIOUS

Not one instant went without a kiss or a moment where they didn't seek skinship.

The honeymoon phase was something else for the couple who held back for so long. Now there was no refraining. They had no problem with PDA, especially in a place without a public.

For the first time since they knew each other, they were careless. Jonas discovered another woman, Sierra, his wife, was more affectionate than he imagined.

The man had the impression she spoilt him when all Sierra did was over love that seemed overdue. After the first frustrating days, their facial traits finally relaxed as they fully appreciated each moment and the paradisiac decor surrounding them.

"Hey, Jonas," Stephan said when he saw the couple walk into the Banyan restaurant on their last night at the Royal Davui.

"We haven't seen you guys in days. We wondered if you were still alive. Take a seat."

As always, Stephan was popcorn popping with joy.

Jonas sketched a nervous smile as he imagined what went through Sierra's mind. To his surprise, his wife's face remained settled in its bliss. She even happily sat at the Ackerman's table.

"You look fantastic, Sierra. You're radiant," Cynthia remarked while her eyes said sex does wonders.

"So, what have you guys been up to?" Stephan asked.

Sierra and Jonas looked at one another other.

"Eh, we've been relaxing," Jonas said while caressing Sierra's hand. The gesture drew Cynthia's attention. She noted the couple's complicity heightened. "And what have you been up to?" Jonas returned.

Cynthia grinned and answered when she noticed Jonas addressed himself to her, "we went diving and visited other islands. I'm dead broke; the Fiji islands are bad for finance."

Jonas realized that the Ackermans rarely stayed in their bungalow, unlike them and the other newlyweds on the island. They seemed well over their honeymoon stage. Again the old couple theory came back.

The waiter arrived, and they ordered. Stephan resumed, "what will you do tomorrow?"

"We're leaving," Sierra hurried to say.

"Oh really, it's a shame we were just becoming friends," Stephan exclaimed.

"Why leave so soon?" Cynthia asked. Her gaze switched from Sierra to Jonas.

"Well, our little boy is waiting for us, and Jonas has a business to run."

"Aww, Sierra, you already have a child together. How old is he?"

Sierra smiled nervously, "he's one year and a half."

Sierra didn't go into details Leone was her son, period. She wasn't going to start explaining the circumstances. Jonas followed in her lead. They had no reason to confine themselves to the Ackerman.

"Excuse me, I need to go to the bathroom," Sierra said. She wanted time out on the conversation. The Ackerman blew her no-stress bubble within a minute.

"I'll go with you. My bladder is exploding," Cynthia said.

The woman left the men. Stephan waited for their silhouettes to disappear to question Jonas again, "so, going back to work?"

"Yes, I have a lot of pending projects."

"You must be happy to see your son," Stephan said before taking a sip of his cocktail.

"Yes, I miss him a lot. He's growing up so fast; I'm sure he has changed already."

"Kids are great."

"Yeah, I'd like to have a least four or five kids," Jonas said with a grin.

"Wow, and Sierra is in for it. Cynthia would kill me if I told her that."

"Eh," Jonas blushed. They had not talked about kids yet. His project seemed pretentious without Sierra's consent.

"Can I tell you something, Jonas, between you and I?"

Jonas nodded.

"You have one hot wife."

Jonas frowned, "excuse me?"

"Your wife is fire. I wondered if you and her would like to double with us."

"Double?"

Stephan leaned forward, elbows on the table, "you know, you can lend me your wristwatch."

"Pardon?" Jonas looked about to search for hidden cameras.

"Exchange, foursome, partouze? What do you say? I'd really want to fuck your wife."

Jonas' mind blew a fuse. The situation was so uncalled for that his mind could not assess the information. His head throbbed, and his ears scorched. "Stephan, Iㅡ."

In the meantime, Sierra came out of the toilet and began to wash her hands.

"So, how was it?"

"How was what?" Sierra asked.

"You spent days in your bungalow. The sex must have been great," Cynthia added.

"Ehㅡ," the topic was tricky for Sierra, who had difficulty talking about sex with her friends. There in front of a stranger, the woman was uneasy.

"Cynthia, you're nice and all, but I'm not a fan of talking about my sex life, especially with people I barely know."

"You're pretty," Cynthia blurted.

Sierra frowned. What should she say?

"Thank you."

A woman cleared her throat, came out of the toilets, washed her hands, and left.

Cynthia resumed, "you're Stephan's type, you know."

"Pardon."

What on earth was she saying? Sierra thought.

"He's been going on about your tits since we got here," Cynthia said without twitching an eyelid.

"Excuse me," Sierra said, taken aback.

Cynthia approached and tugged on one of Sierra's curls bothering the pattern of the ensemble.

"I bet Stephan already asked Jonas his permission for an exchange."

Sierra stepped back, "what? Who are you, people?"

Cynthia laughed, turned to face the mirror, opened her purse, and put on red lipstick, "we're a liberal couple."

Sierra's eyes widened, "you-youㅡyou, sleep with other men than your husband."

"Men, woman, trans, does it matter."

From the beginning, the Ackerman couple seemed off-key. Sierra finally understood why.

"Listen, Cynthia. I love my husband. I can't even imagine someone else touching me. I'm sorry, I don't know the idea we gave you. I'm sorry, but no. We don't and won't do that kind of stuff. It's not our thing."

"Okay, time out, Sierra. No stress if you don't want to, it's fine." Cynthia backed down. There was no point trying to force her.

Sierra bolted out of the toilets, followed by Cynthia, who closed her step, "Sierra, wait let me explain." There was no halting Sierra, who was shocked by the woman's proposal.

The women arrived to find the men in an awkward stance. Stephan spoke while Jonas stood behind his chair. Jonas' face was as red as an Empire apple.

"How did it go?" Stephan asked.

"She said no," Cynthia replied without an ounce of embarrassment as she came to join him.

"So did he."

Sierra hurried to Jonas's side.

"No hard feelings, Jonas. I still appreciate your company."

Jonas smiled between gritted teeth. Sierra could feel the throbbing of the blood rushing in his veins as his grip tightened around her hand, "I'm sorry, Stephan, I think it's better if Sierra and I eat alone."

"My apologies, Jonas, we didn't meanㅡ."

"I wish you an excellent evening."

The man feared nothing. He could knock our Stephan in an instant. What made Jonas explode was Sierra. He couldn't get over Stephan's audacity.

"I waited all my life for her. I won't have another man touch her," Jonas told Stephan. It was too much for Jonas, who would have gone to fetch Sierra in the toilets if she had not returned.

"Jonasㅡ, Jonas, slow down." The man didn't even realize he dragged his wife along by the hand.

"Jonas," Sierra yelled.

He stopped, and Sierra retrieved her hand to massage it.

"Jonas."

The man snapped out of the trance the moment his eyes rested on Sierra's wrist, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." Jonas said, realizing what he did, "I was just so furious. I couldn't control myself."

"Hey, Jonas, look at me," Sierra cupped his face in her hands, "you're my husband. I will never look in another direction. You don't need to fend for anything because that type of scenario will never play in a theater near you. I love you."

The man pulled her in a hug.

Stephan trifled and stirred one of Jonas's greatest fears, losing Sierra.

That night there was no sex. They had to wake up early to check out, but also, the mood was not in the appropriate place.
