Third-person-pov
Vishwanath Naidu stood tall as the Governor administered the oath of office. His voice was steady, unshaken by the weight of the moment. “I, Vishwanath Naidu, do swear in the name of God that I will faithfully execute the office of Chief Minister of this state, and will, to the best of my ability, preserve and protect the heritage of this state.”
The applause that followed was thunderous, echoing across the grand hall of the legislative assembly. His third term. The people’s man. The man who had started from nothing, yet now commanded the highest office in the state for the third consecutive time. The crown of politics was his once more, a testament to his indomitable will, sharp mind, and, above all, his deep understanding of the pulse of the people.
As cameras flashed and reporters swarmed around him, Vishwanath’s mind drifted. The years of struggle, sacrifice, and unyielding determination had led him to this moment. Thirty years ago, he was just another man in the ranks of a small political party, fighting for a cause, struggling to be heard. Today, he was the undisputed king of the political empire he had built from the ground up.
It all started many years ago when Vishwanath Naidu, a young, fiery idealist, entered the world of politics—not for the hunger of power, but to make a difference. Born to humble beginnings as the son of a farmer, he was raised on the values of hard work and perseverance. At the age of 28, he joined a small regional party that promised change, though it was little more than a whisper in the state’s vast political cacophony.
His first post was small—a district representative, a voice for the downtrodden in a world that ignored their struggles. The early years were fraught with challenges: betrayals, failed alliances, and broken promises. But Vishwanath was no ordinary politician. He was a man of the people. He spent days in villages, talking to farmers, listening to their grievances, and carrying their problems to the state capital. His rise was not marked by political misconduct or backstabbing, but by the trust he earned from the masses. His success was fueled by genuine commitment to uplift the people. Slowly, his reputation grew.
He founded his own party, the People’s Love Party—an organization built on ideals of justice, equality, and empowerment. As his party gained momentum, so did his political career. At 45, he was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) and became Chief Minister of the state.
Now, as he stood before the assembled lawmakers taking the oath for a third time, he couldn’t help but reflect on the path that had brought him here.
While Vishwanath’s political journey had been one of triumph, his personal life had often been a delicate balancing act. He had married Satyavathi at 25—a woman of grace and strength, who had stood by his side through every rise and fall. Together, they had five children: four sons and one daughter.
The early years of their marriage were marked by struggle. Vishwanath’s dedication to his political career often left little time for his family. Yet, Satyavathi, ever the supportive wife, managed the household and kept their children grounded. It wasn’t easy. They had lost two sons at a young age—both victims of the ruthless world of politics. The first, Naveen, died in a violent protest; the second, Vishal, was murdered by rivals in Vishwanath’s political life. The pain of their loss left an indelible mark on the Naidu family. Vishal left behind his wife Ragini and their two-year-old twins.
Now, only his three children remained: Shiva, the third-born; Sanjay, the youngest; and Aarvi, their only daughter.
Shiva is Vishwanath’s pride and joy. The son who shared his father’s vision, drive, and, most importantly, his unwavering commitment to the people. He was sharp, insightful, and compassionate—qualities that made him not just a suitable heir, but a natural one. Vishwanath saw in Shiva a reflection of his younger self, the same hunger for justice, the same ambition to change the world. It was no wonder that Shiva had become his favourite.
Aarvi, the fourth-born and only daughter, was different. Fiercely independent, she had always distanced herself from the political sphere. Instead, she ran her own company, a successful tech firm that had made her a name in the business world. Despite her distance from the family’s political legacy, Vishwanath was proud of her, though he secretly hoped she might one day take on a more prominent role in his empire. She is married to her business partner Narayan Mittal.
Then there is Sanjay—the most neglected of the children. Born much later than his siblings, when Vishwanath’s political career was in full swing and Satyavathi was preoccupied with managing their social life, Sanjay grew up in the shadows of his older brothers. He was the unwanted child, a mistake in the eyes of many. Vishwanath had been too busy with his campaigns, speeches, and rallies. Satyavathi, too, had her hands full with the responsibilities of being the wife of a rising politician.
As a result, Sanjay’s childhood was marked by neglect. No one paid attention to his needs or desires. He was often left alone, trying to carve love and a place for himself in a family that seemed to have little room for him. His brothers, especially Shiva, was always the centre of attention—the ones who garnered all the love and admiration. Sanjay had been raised in a cold, indifferent environment, and it had shaped him into a man who sought recognition in the only way he knew—through power. He had become the spoiled brat of the family, always landing in trouble.
The family’s attention was always on Shiva. Shiva was groomed to take over the legacy. Shiva was loved. Sanjay was ignored. And as the years passed, the silence around his bitterness grew louder—soon, even the strongest walls would crumble under its weight.
