V - The Revelation

The boy was looking at the Moon, a silver lighthouse in the cosmic ocean. The visitors decided to hide on the dark side. The initial fear, a knot in his throat that held him on the blue planet, now left, giving way to the dazzle. The stars, once distant points of light, were now revealed in all their splendor, constellations drawing ancestral stories in the infinite sky. Tears sprang into his eyes; he missed the family that every moment became farther away. "Oh, if Sanches were here..." he thought, longing for his friend's optimism.

He looked at the bracelet. "Why did my father have one of these? How could this thing help me go home?"

Zara, with a soft touch, intertwined her hand into his, a gesture of comfort and safety. Her eyes shone with a deep understanding, as if they read the young man's soul.

"Nick", she whispered, the voice like a balm, "I'm here with you. Don't be afraid. I know all this seems like a dream, but I promise to protect you with my own life. And soon you will return to your mother and sister."

Despite the sweet words, the doubt was still strong within him. The situation was surreal, a whirlwind of emotions that prevented him from believing. Zara, with her ethereal beauty and serene look, was like a riddle. Her feelings seemed sincere, but how to decipher her intentions?

Escape seemed impossible; going home, a mirage. All he could do was carry on, clinging to the hope of escaping from that cosmic maze.

Zara, intuitive as the Moon that guides the tides, noticed the boy's insecurity. She led him fondly, as someone conducts a lost child in the crowd. She knew he needed time and a hug that would welcome his doubts and fears. The truth, when revealed, would change his view of the world.

As the ship slid through the starry vastness, Zara enveloped him in a hug. Nicholas, lost in the immensity of the cosmos, felt his heart throb in tune with that enigmatic woman's. The Moon, formerly distant, grew in his vision, a silver globe bathed by sunlight. Ancestral craters, marks of a turbulent past, told stories of cosmic impacts. Dark plains, such as shadow seas, stretched toward mountains that seemed to touch the firmament.

The earth, a blue and green oasis in the dark vastness, brought him a sense of familiarity and longing. Observing the planet from a privileged angle, he understood the euphoria of astronauts by contemplating the fragile beauty of their cosmic home.

As they entered the dark side of the moon, a veil of mystery involved the ship. The landing was soft. Nicholas, for the first time, felt at peace. His dream had come true, exceeding expectations fed by books and movies. The stars, now within his reach, sparkled with a magical intensity.

The vastness of the cosmos filled him with admiration and perplexity. Was he the only human to contemplate such a spectacle? The doubt mingled with uncertainty about his destination. Would he be there to unravel the secrets of the universe or to become a guinea pig for alien experiments?

Zara, with an enigmatic smile, seemed to guess his thoughts. Nicholas, in response, sketched a hesitant smile, a mixture of hope and fear. Sivoc, with his serious and serene voice, broke the silence:

"Nicholas, we know that our arrival has been abrupt, but we need your help. Our planet faces an imminent danger, and you are the key to our salvation."

His confusion increased. How could he, a simple student, help such advanced beings? His dreams of exploring the universe became a nightmare. Zara, the woman who had awakened his heart, was now part of a mystery that scared him.

Sivoc and Zara exchanged an accomplice look, a silent communication that transcended words.

"Zara," Sivoc said, his voice resonating in her mind, "It's time for the truth. Nicholas needs to trust us. Let's reveal our mission and show that our intentions are noble. He needs to know that he is in danger, that the other ship will not have mercy."

Zara, with a look that mixed tenderness and urgency, approached Nicholas.

"What other ship does he refer to?", he thought.

"We live in the century DCXLI, in the distant future of the Earth", she revealed, her voice as soft as the singing of a mermaid. "Through spacetime portals, the wormholes, we can travel between the ages. Our ancestors have visited this planet countless times, seeking to prolong life and guide humanity in its evolutionary path."

Nicholas, stunned, felt the world spin. He had always dreamed of knowing the stars, but it didn't have to be that way. The revelation was like a shock, an avalanche of information that buried him. Zara continued, the voice firm and welcoming:

"We observe and intervene, preventing disasters and guiding humanity for a future of peace. We cannot change the past, but we can prevent errors from repeating. And you, Nick, you are an important part of this mission."

The boy who before exhaled shyness was taken by a panic that seemed to suffocate him. The revelation was too great for his young mind. Zara, with a deep and serene look, concluded:

"The truth, Nicolas, is that we are the humanity of the future."
