Chapter 5

Emiri took a deep breath, "You can do it!" She shouted, watching the boy eagerly.

He reeled his arm back, and threw the ball, it soared through the air, landing a ways away. Emiri smiled when she saw his score.

Emiri ginned, "Good job!" She cheered, looking over and seeing that the majority of the class was admiring Izuku, well, everyone but a certain explosive blond.

His mouth was gaping open, and he had an angry look on his face as he lunged "Hey!" He shouted, gaining everyone's attention. "Deku you bastard! Tell me how you did it or you're dead!"

The poor freckled boy, Deku,  looked terrified. Though before the angry teen could get his hands on him, familiar gray fabric wrapped around him and held him back. Behind him, Aizawa was glaring at him, his eyes glowing red.

"W-Why the hell is your scarf so damn strong?" He asked.

"Because it's a capture weapon." Aizawa exclaimed, "Made out of a special metal alloy. Stand down. It'd be wise to avoid making me use my quirk so much. It gives me serious dry eye."

"Too bad, that power's amazing!" The students exclaimed.

He blinked and deactivated his quirk, his scarf returned to sitting on his shoulder. "You're wasting my time now, whoever's next can step up."

All of her other classmates went up and threw the ball, and once everyone was done, the continued onto the rest of the tests.

"Alright, time to give you the results." Aizawa started. "I've ranked you all from best to worst, you probably have a good idea of your standing already. I'll just pull up the whole list, it's not worth going over each individual score."

A screen was pulled up in front of him and Emiri scanned the screen, letting out a small sigh of relief as she saw her name in 11th place. Scanning a bit more, she glanced over at Deku, seeing his face fall as he saw that he was in last place.

Poor Deku...Emiri thought.

"And I was lying. No one's going home." Aizawa stated, then he smiled. "That was just a rational deception to make sure you gave it your all on the tests."

Emiri blinked in surprise, she was almost certain that he had been completely honest when telling them that the person in last place was going to be expelled.

"I'm surprised the rest of you didn't figure that out." A girl with black hair pulled into a ponytail said. "I'm sorry, I guess I should of said something."

Everyone just stared at her, most of them unamused by her statement.

"That's it, we're done for the day. Pick up a syllabus in the classroom and read it over before tomorrow morning." He told them as he walked started walking away, though he handed a paper to Deku and told him to go to the nurses office, his voice was too low for Emiri to hear. She glanced towards them before walking forwards and following the rest of the class.

The rest of the day progressed normally. Teachers telling everyone how their classes were going to go and everyone receiving a syllabus with materials they would be needing for the year. After the classes ended, everyone was packing up and getting ready to go.

She looked around the class, trying to remember everyone's names— through the day they had introduced themselves until everyone knew each other's names and told everyone the basics of their quirks— Emiri had managed to take note of everything she had heard throughout the day, quirks, names, and any interesting facts she had learned throughout the day. Once ready, Emiri had left the build the same time as two of her classmates, Uraraka and Iida, the latter offering her to join the two as they walked out.

"Oh, look, it's that boy!" Uraraka pointed out, motioning towards a green haired boy with a yellow backpack.

"I'll go see how he's doing." Iida said, speed walking towards the boy, leaving the two girls to catch up to him.

"Hey, don't leave us behind!" Uraraka exclaimed, getting the attention of the two boys. She looked at Deku with a wide smile, "I'm Uraraka Ochako!"

"Koyama E-Emiri. Pleasure." Emiri introduced with a small smile.

"You're Deku, Right? Deku Midoriya?"

"D-Deku?!"

"Yeah, that's what Bakugo called you," Uraraka said, referring to the explosive blond who seemed to have anger issues.

"Ah, well, my name's actually Izuku. Deku is what Kacchan calls me to make fun of me."

"That's not nice." Emiri said, "And k-kinda childish..."

"Oh, I didn't realize that. I'm sorry. You know what, though? I like Deku. It'd make a great hero name. Plus I think it sounds kinda cute!" Uraraka said.

"Deku it is!" Midoriya exclaimed, his face glowing pink.

"W-What a quick change of o-opinion." Emiri said. "A-Anyways, we should get going before we miss out trains."

"R-Right!" Midoriya exclaied, "Let's go!"

The four of them walked off U.A's campus and Emiri knew that this was going to be an eventful year, hopefully it's a good year as well.
