Chapter 38: Sucks to Suck. I Fullfil a Prophecy

Raph and Annabeth's idea was to make the enemy army break around the reservoir. To get to us, they'd have to follow the trails, which meant they'd be marching in narrow columns on either side of the water.

At first, the plan seemed to work. The enemy divided and streamed toward us along the shore. When they were halfway across, our defenses kicked in. The jogging trail erupted in Greek fire, incinerating many of the monsters instantly. Others flailed around, engulfed in green flames. Athena campers threw grappling hooks around the largest giants and pulled them to the ground.

In the woods on the right, the Hunters sent a volley of silver arrows into the enemy line, destroying twenty or thirty dracaenae, but more marched behind them. A bolt of lightning crackled out of the sky and fried a Laistrygonian giant to ashes, and I knew Thalia must be doing her daughter of Zeus thing. To see it in person was pretty cool.

Grover and Mr Miles raised their pipes and played a quick tune. A roar so loud  went up from the woods on both sides as every tree, rock, and bush seemed to sprout a spirit, and I felt the vibrations up my legs and into my heart and soul. Dryads and satyrs raised their clubs and charged. The trees wrapped around the monsters, strangling them. Grass grew around the feet of the enemy archers. Stones flew up and hit dracaenae in the faces.

The enemy slogged forward. Giants smashed through the trees, and naiads faded as their life sources were destroyed. Hellhounds lunged at the timber wolves, knocking them aside. Enemy archers returned fire, and a Hunter fell from a high branch. I went to run to her rescue when my arm was grabbed. I looked around.

Annabeth had grabbed my arm and pointed at the reservoir. The Titan in the gold armor wasn't waiting for his forces to advance around the sides. He was charging toward us, walking straight over the top of the lake.

A Greek firebomb exploded right on top of him, but he raised his palm and sucked the flames out of the air.

I snarled. I changed direction. Percy on my heels. Raph went to grab me, but I shook my head.

"I can take him. Me and Percy." I signed. "We're invincible, remember?"

"I know!" I signed back with one hand as he used the other to bat a hellhound away with his shield. He stabbed it quickly sending it back to Tarterus in a poof of dust. "I was gonna say, go kick some titan ass."

He grabbed my chest armor and yanked me forwards. I stumbled into his chest and he kissed me. It was quick and simple. He pulled away with a wink and spun back into the thick of it. His face lighting up in the battle lust as he took down another monster.

"Hyperion," I signed.

"The lord of light." Annabeth said with awe on her face. "Titan of the east."

"Bad?" Percy guessed.

"Next to Atlas, he's the greatest Titan warrior. In the old days, four Titans controlled the four corners of the world. Hyperion was the east—the most powerful."

"Got it. Not good." Percy added with a nod.

"We'll keep him busy," I promised.

"Percy, even you can't-"

"Stay with Raph. And keep our forces together." Percy interrupted her.

We'd set up at the reservoir for good reason. Percy concentrated on the water and felt its power surging. From here I could feel his power. It would be better if I had the extra power from the sun, but I would be fine from here.

Percy glanced at me and I nodded. I sheathed my blades and yanked my bow off the braclet. He held his sword higher and we advanced toward Hyperion, I had leapt over the side of the reservoir and was surprised I hadn't touched the water. I looked up shocked. Percy shook his head.

"Not me!" He signed.

"Nice." I grinned. My smile was twisted and crooked.

"Looks like walking on water runs in the family."

"Solid." Percy matched my wicked smile. Together we turned and ran over the top of the water. Yeah, buddy. We can all play that game.

Twenty feet away, Hyperion raised his sword. His eyes were just like I'd remembered- as gold as Kronos's but brighter, like miniature suns.

"The sea god's brat," he mused. "You're the one who trapped Atlas beneath the sky again?"

"It wasn't hard," I said. "You Titans are about as bright as my gym socks."

Hyperion snarled. "You want bright?"

His body ignited in a column of light and heat. I felt my own power surge to the surface, the tingle and heat and fire erupt around me. My fire swirled up over me and through me. I ran forward.

"Ahh." Hyperion spoke in my head. (Apparently he learned, maybe from Kronos he could speak in my head, which was annoying.) If it isn't my granddaughter. I see your powers have increased."

"Ya. I sent your horrible spoiled brat of a daughter back to Tarterus!"

"I will avenge her death."

"Wasn't hard. All I had to do was melt Malibu Barbie's plastic."

Hyperion yelled in anger I could feel it vibrate through my body and into my skull and he glowed even brighter. Percy had to look away. Hyperion raised his sword. I pressed the sun on my bracelet and the shield from Tyson and Beckendorf swirled into existence. I pushed Percy out of the way. He slashed down. I raised the shield and it clanged. His heat and bright power didn't bother me. I felt my power increase. Sure the force sent a ten-foot shock wave ring of water across the surface of the lake. The heat from our power slamming into each other also evaporated the water in a five foot radius.

He raised his blade and I ducked under his arm, sending a flaming arrow up into him, it caught him in the stomach, just under the torso armor. The impact made him stumble backwards just as I saw out of the corner of my eye, Percy using his powers and increasing a wave of water into a titlewave, and just before impact, he jumped upward on a jet of water.

"AHHHHH!" I felt the vibrations of his angry yell. The waves smashed into Hyperion and he went under, his light extinguished.

Percy made sure we both landed on the lake's surface unharmed just as Hyperion struggled to his feet. His golden armor was dripping wet. His eyes no longer blazed, but they still looked murderous. Percy and I high fived.

"You will both die horrible deaths!" he roared.

Percy and his swords met again and the air charged with ozone. I pulled the string of my bow back out the arrow on fire and sent it as a deadly fire streak into the crack of dear old grandfather's armor. Making him stumble back again. The force of my arrow

The battle still raged around us. On the right flank, Annabeth was leading an assault with her siblings. On the left flank, Grover and his nature spirits were regrouping, entangling the enemies with bushes and weeds, while Raph alone kept the monsters at bay. Hunters were raining down death by arrows over both sides.

"Enough games," Hyperion told me. "We fight on land."

I was about to make some clever comment, like "No," when the Titan yelled. A wall of force slammed me through the air- just like the trick Kronos had pulled on the bridge. Percy and I sailed backward about three hundred yards and smashed into the ground. If it hadn't been for our new invulnerability, we would've broken every bone in our body.

I got to my feet, groaning, silently of course. "I really hate it when you Titans do that." I looked around. Percy was on the other side of the water. Great I thought.

Hyperion closed in on Percy with blinding speed. I saw Percy's face contort into concentration on the water, I knew he was drawing strength from it.

Hyperion attacked. Just as another bright light appears from the trees. I instinctively knew this was anither titan. And she must have been Malibu Barbie's mother. She looked just like her. Except her hair was so black it almost looked blue. It shown in the glow if the moon. Her armour was decorated in all kids of gems and jewls and it seemed to reflect light making it look like the dawn, the bright sun, sunset and the moon.

Then I remembered, Theia was the mother of dawn, sun and moon. She finally came to fight by her husband side. Great. Two Titans.

"It is time you laid your weapons down child and listen to reason." She spoke in my head.

"Eww. I already melted one plastic baby now I can make two."

Out if the corner of my eye I saw Raph do a quick double take. And in his hesitantion he took a sword to the arm, it was just a glancing blow but it made me cry out and send a fire ball in the direction of the monster and I insinsrated it instantly. Raph locked eyes with me and nodded, then spun back into the thick of it. I pulled my arrow back and shot it forward with a blast of power.

It pierced her armour, exploding some of the genes and diamonds ina. Shower that looked like shooting stars. She suddenly turned pale. I hesitated. And then I grinned as big ugly boils appeared on her skin.

Thank you Apollo. I didn't know I had the ability to send plague arrows! I grinned. I cackled silently as she screamed in disgust and quite possibly pain.

I chanced a quick glance at  Percy, who was fighting Hyperion. The Titan was powerful and fast, but he couldn't seem to land a blow. The ground around his feet kept erupting in flames, but Percy kept dousing it just as quickly.

"Stop it!" the Titan roared I saw his mouth moving. "Stop that wind!"

Percy was creating his own hurricane, but he was too busy fighting to notice. Hyperion stumbled like he was being pushed away. Water sprayed his face, stinging his eyes. The wind picked up, and Hyperion staggered backward.

I had to use my bow to block Theia's next advance, she slashed with her sword. I stabbed up with the arrow in my hand like a knife. She screamed as I sent another plague into her titan system. She turned a sickly green and her nose started to run and she started hacking and coughing like she had to get rid of a lung. I still had my shield open and I used that with my heat wall to slam into Theia's chest. I smashed some more if the gems in her armor, while Percy's water caught them as they rained down. It was a beautiful sight to see.

I felt my lungs restrict in sudden realization. A line from my prophecy hit me, like a punch to the gut. I understood what it meant.

Free she must the one to rise,
To conquer Heavenly Light and Splendour Sight.

"Percy!" I silently called. I waved my arms but Percy couldn't see me, he was too busy. I used another wall of heat to blast Theia backwards. I was gathering my heat and power, the tingling increased so much it was starting to hurt. I turned and waved at anyone. Annabeth saw. I quickly signed my idea and she nodded. She screamed at Percy, and caught his attention.

He was busy standing in the middle of his own personal hurricane. Clouds of water vapor swirled around him, winds so powerful they buffeted Hyperion and flattened the grass in a twenty-yard radius. Enemy warriors threw javelins at him, but the storm knocked them aside.

Once I knew Percy understood what I was going to do he nodded. I finally let loose my full power. I stopped trying to keep it contained, knowing as it grew inside me, it would explode at some point. I snapped my bow back into the charm. I retracted the shield and it was just me and my full fire power. I was slowly building the heat, everyone around me rippled like mirages, the leaves withered in the heat, and I felt a stab of guilt, but it was only temporary. The water around me and Theia evaporated. As I let it build, I used the fire rippling up and down my arms to block her sword swings. I melted her sword, which looked like it was made of gold and presueus genes.

I caught sight of lightning flickering around me. The clouds darkened and the rain swirled faster. My heat and Percy's wind was making what looked like a hurricane mixed with fire and lava. I closed in on both Hyperion and Theia. Percy blew them off their feet. We Hyperion scrambled to his feet and came for me instead.

No disgraceful child of my son shall defeat me! I am a TITAN!

I grinned. My eyes also matched his. But where his was harsh, mine was warm, filled with fire. I yanked the Phoenix feather from my charm bracelet. Holding it with my two knifes, I let my reflexes take over. I slashed and jabbed, Hyperion could barely defend himself. His eyes kept trying to ignite, but the hurricane quenched his flames. Percy was now fighting Theia.

We couldn't keep up a storm like this forever, though. I could feel Percy's powers weakening. With one last effort, he propelled Theia across the field, straight to where I was waiting to unleash the build I powers.

Theia slammed into her husband and the tumbled together in a mix of arms and legs. I gathered the Pheonix power. I heard the song rattle around in my skull. I felt Helios's presence inside me mixing with Apollo's. All three of those raw devisatting powers of fire and heat. Along with my own deep desire and need to end this so we wouldn't loose any more demigods. I couldn't face another death of my brothers, or friends.

As horrible as she was, Aphrodite was right, my greatest power was my love. My love for family and friends. That's why I could never hand myself over and be used like a puppet to destroy Olympus. I would fight for my family, my friends ... I would lay my life down for my loved ones.

With that in mind, I felt the powers peek. With a wild cry, I threw my arms out wide.

I felt my powers surge and raise me off the ground. The bright hot flames flicked and danced around me. Lighting up everything around me. It must have looked like the sun was rising. The tongues of flame lashed out, consuming everything evil and monstrous thing in its path, each one erupted in a flash of fire and was gone. Leaving a pile of monster dust coating the field and park.

It wrapped around each demi god, and nature spirit and Hunter. As it did it filled each one with the gift of the Pheonix song, giving them courage and renuied strength. It brought injured campers and spirits and Hunter back to strength.

As for the two Titans, the deviating flames of fire wrapped around them, squeezing them tighter and tighter.

"I-am-a TITAN! You can not do this!" Hyperion bellowed in my head as he struggled with the fire.

"So. Am. I." I yelled back. "And the daughter of a god. With the blessing of a Pheonix. So sucks to suck."

The Phoenix fire was stronger, and the fire wrapped around Hyperion, the Heavenly Light and his wife, Theia, the Splendour Sight. It squeezed tighter and tighter. With one final surge of all my power, with a scream of defiance from deep inside me, it mixed with the song of the Pheonix, and I threw my arms out wide- which I only realized now had fiery feathers Pheonix wings attached-  and both titans exploded in a cloud of smoke as a scream of rage echoed in my head from both of rgem. And they were both gone.

The fire wings and power lowered me back to the ground and I collapsed, my veins still glowing and the weird Greek and Roman words and symbols still all over my skin.

With my eyes fluttering I let go of the feather. It was signed almost to nothing. I had two more uses. Just as my eyes fluttered again I felt strong arms grab my face.

I forced my eyes open. I saw Raph's blurry terrified face looking down.

"Oh thank the gods, I thought you killed yourself!" He signed.

"With great power....comes a great need ...to take a nap."

I smirked at the joke. Nick had used that line. My eyes fluttered again and I was pulled into darkness.

🔆

An idea of what my mind is thinking she. I say she has her Pheonix powers and goes "Super Nova" on the monsters.
I hope the writing come across that way!

Another idea of what I think of- though less Asian symbols/words and more the ancient Greek & Roman. 🐦‍🔥
