It's the day of graduation and of course I'm not apart of it. I failed almost every class so I wasn't really shocked at my exclusion.

The only reason I'm here is to see Phil one more time.

I spot him after the ceremony talking to Dan by the snack table.

I approach them, I decided to clean up my appearance a bit today. I wore a simple black dress and tied my hair up in a ponytail.

"Phil..." I say his name. He turns around and sees me, his eyes immediately go to my new black eye.

He rolls his eyes and turns away.

"Phil...please don't do this to me. You're the only friend I have." I plead with tears in my eyes. Dan looks at me with pity, and quickly turns to Phil.

"Phil I think-" Dan tries to convince Phil but Phil waves him off.

He turns to me. "Listen, I'm not your friend anymore. People like you shouldn't associate with people like us. I mean look, you didn't even graduate." He points out. "I meant what I said that day in your apartment. I'm not your best friend, acquaintance, or whatever. Just go."

I feel my world crash. My palms begin to get sweaty as I hear people whisper and point at me. Have I never noticed before?

Phil notices too. "See? They all know who you are and what you do. You have nothing here. No respect, dignity, or honor. It's embarrassing enough to talk to you."

He's right. I really am an embarrassment. I can't believe I put Phil through that this whole time. I really don't deserve friends.

I apologize and rush away from the building.
