Silver's pov
We were on our way home from school the next day after sonic saved that boy. I was too tired to fly, so we all just walked when we notice an all white van with a very familiar logo to us and i grab shadow and sonic, pulling them to the bushes as i kneel down." Whats wrong silver?" Sonic asks and i say," GUN's here, i saw the logo on a van" shadow growls," come on, sonic can you carry silver? We need to get home now before they find us." " thats the thing, they're in front of our house!" I point to where the van is and sonic gasps." We can't leave mom alone with those people!" " i know Sonic, just let me think, they're searching for us, they likely have no clue about mom's powers, so if we distract them, we can get them to leave." " then what?" " we destroy the van any way we can. Silver, think you can lift a big rock or something destructive?" " no, i'm too tired." " ok then you just stay hidden and wait till the van's gone before heading inside. If mom's not there, tell us" i nod while sonic and shadow get into running positions before launching off into twin blurs.
Sonic's pov
I leap onto the hood to wake a sleeping dude up front and i yell," hey! You want us?! You're gonna have to come get us!" He starts the van, yelling into a mic, good, get them out of mom's house. Once they all race out to me, shadow yells," Chaos Spear!" And launches a projectile at thier feet, scattering alot of dust, i take this as my cue and i leap off, becoming a blur as the van starts racing behind me. Shadow joins me and i ask," what do we do now?" " i'll try to blast the tires once we get them far away from this town, you just keep taunting them!" I nod and i leap away, zooming near the van, and i jump onto the hood with ease." Hey scientists! Good luck catching what you can't keep up with!" I leap back and catch up with shadow as we both turn onto the highway. We keep running and i see silver and i bolt over to him, stopping next to him and he says," moms at home, but is glad we're ok" he pants heavily as he drops out of the air and i catch him, setting him down" ok, you get back, we'll finish these guys off." I zoom off, my speed easily catching back up and shadow asks," what happened?" " moms safe, how much farther?" " about 50 miles, we'll drive them into the river, it's shallow enough that they won't get entirely stuck." I nod and we keep running, me occasionally stopping to taunt them, but we then see the river and i run to the back of the van and shadow fires a spear at their tires, popping one and causing them to swerve, and i shove the back of the van at the same time and it flips, sending me into the air with a scream, and i roll up into a ball,too terrified to uncurl and see where i fall, shadow yells and i feel his arms around me before something cold hits us both, water, no no no no! I uncurl and i grab onto shadow and he holds me tight before we both break through the surface, and we both gasp, shadow managing to stop us moving through the current as he says," hold on tight sonic, the currents stronger then i thought, but we're not far from shore." " ok shads" i hold onto him tightly and he swims us both to safety, setting us on the shore and i shake the water out of my fur as i notice how tired shadow is." You ok bro?" " not really, the energy it took to get us here left me drained, i doubt i can run the whole way home." " lucky for you i can." I scoop up shadow, and i burst into a fast run, moving as fast as i can with every step, my blur forming in front of me, knowing we had to get home and keep shadow safe in my arms, when i feel something stab my leg, and i have to slow down, crying with pain. Shadow spots whatever it is and pulls it out, saying," keep going, once you get within a mile we'll lose them!" I nod, and i push, blasting into speed again, every step having me moving faster, my blur forms and it explodes, boosting me foward and i laugh." Take my sonic boom!" Shadow chuckles at my silly antics. We get most of the way there before i slow down, my legs turning to jelly." Whatever they stuck me with is finally kicking in, i can't keep moving." Sure enough i trip and i collapse to the ground. I gasp and shadow gets up," what they stuck you with was a bear tranqulizer, by the label. Your speed wore it off as much as it could. Besides, with the speed you were moving at we're almost home." I nod, black spots filling my vision and shadow lifts me up." Sleep little bro, you're ok from here." I take his advice and let myself pass out
Shadow's pov
What a day. Sonic's out like a light, Gun found us, at least mom's ok. I let my energy out through my skates, blasting foward and i slide easily through the air, pushing foward until i reach home, exhausted, but i make up for that by loosening my rings, letting power flow through my body, and restore my lost energy. I walk in and silver comes over asking," what happened to Sonic?" "Bear tranq, mom?" " resting, they broke her arm to try and spill our location, but then we distracted them out before she could hurt them back. I used my powers to reset it. And you look exhausted." I chuckle," yes, sonic and i went for an unexpected swim, the current was stronger then expected. I have extra energy keeping me going, but i really want to go to bed." " i think we've all earned that." I nod and i go lay sonic in his bed, and i go lay in mine, closing my rings and passing out.
