Sonic's pov
We zoom from island to island, Silvers connection to me being my guide that leads us to a massive floating island way high up. I jump onto the island before Tails searches for somewhere to land.
I zip off, yelling out,"Silver?! Silver, where are you?!"
My response is a deep voice, layered with suspicion toward me.
"Are you looking for someone?"
I stop, nodding.
"A white hedgehog, about my height, with his quills looking almost like a sun in formation."
The red echidna that stepped out of the shadows nods and waves.
"He's here. I found him exhausted and extremely weak nearby the Master Emerald. You want to see him?"
I nod quickly, and the stranger waves for me to follow as he walks into the brush. I follow him. Within several minutes we arrive at a basic shack, with a log roof.
Totally not firesafe, but considering he's so high up in the air maybe it won't matter?
The echidna goes inside and i follow him in, to see Silver asleep on a simple mat of grass and moss.
"Silver."
I don't hesitate to zip over to my brothers side, a luminous yellow gemstone glittering next to Silver.
"I found the gemstone by him, do you know what it is?"
I shake my head.
"No, never in my life."
"It's a Timestone, a rare gem that harnesses some aspects of time itself."
"So he really was in the future. But just how far was he ahead?"
The echinda shrugs. I decide to introduce myself.
"I'm Sonic by the way, this is my younger brother Silver, you are?"
"Knuckles, it's nice to meet you both.  Who's the pilot of the plane you came in on?"
"That's Tails. Speaking of, you mind letting us stay until Silver's strong enough to travel?"
"Not a problem, i'll go get your friend in the plane. You stay with your brother."
Knuckles stands and walks out. I smile, pulling Silver close, i look him over.
He's wheezing like he's been inhaling ash. He's malnurished judging by the fact that i can see his ribs. Probably dehydrated too. On that note i get up, deciding to go see if i can find some fresh water to drink.
I zip out and i quickly find a stream, scooping with a canteen. I then cap it off and zip back to Silver. I pour a bit onto his forehead and he gasps, his eyes fluttering slightly.
"I'm here little bro. I need you to drink, you sound and look horrible. Your safe now though."
I carefully lift up his head and i bring the canteen to his mouth, Silver carefully taking sips, but i could already feel his energy returning as i weakly hear over our link.
G-good to hear you again Sonic.
No problem little bro, just rest.
It was all i could think to say to him, my mind was still whirling with questions, but Silver was in no state to answer them as he curls onto me, and falls into sleep. It was something at least, and his breathing was slowly improving. I wouldn't be suprised if altitude sickness was something he was struggling with. We were higher then he's ever flown, but i've had time to adjust on a plane, Silver hadn't. I would need to keep a careful ear on him.
Knuckles comes back in, Tails right behind him, as i cradled my brothers head in my arms.
"Whoa." Tails whispers,"thats him? Silver?"
I nod,"he's resting right now. But i'm extremely worried for him."
Tails perks up and whispers," why?"
I sigh and whisper," listen to his breathing, it sounds like he's been breathing smoke. He's dehydrated and malnurished. I wish i knew what happened, but he's still too weak from teleporting himself here."
Worry crept into my voice the more i talked, until the Echidna put his large, ovenmitt of a paw on my shoulder. It forced me to stop talking and look over to him.
"Your brother will recover. Due to your bond with him, he will regain his strength through you. You only need to learn to channel it."
"How do i do that?"
"Focus on your bond, let it fill your mind."
I sigh, but i nod, gripping Silver's limp hand, i close my eyes and i feel over the bond we share, and i could feel how weak Silver was, barely anything reached out to him.
"Once you have a grip on it, find your own energy and send him a small amount. His body cannot stand much, but this should rekindle his strength to help him rebuild his energy on his own."
I nod, pulling a part of my energy away and pushing it along the bond like i'm sending waves down a slinky. It naturally goes to Silvers and Silver's energy comes back slightly stronger, a steady, pulsing energy unlike the barely there flashes i felt before.
Smiling, i open my eyes.
"I think he'll be able to wake up again. I just wish... i could feel Shadow too...."
"A triplet bond? That is quite rare. What happened to seperate you 3?"
"A orginization known as GUN, they tranqed us 3, and when i came to, i was on Westside island. Our older bro, Shadow, is numb to us. Silver and i kept trying to reach the other, but Time kept us seperated according to Tails. Shadow's asleep somewhere in the present. I have to find my older brother. But i can't leave Silver."
Knuckles nods to me," stay here, your brother will understand why you waited to find him. He may be numb, but he can see what you can. He will understand why you haven't found him yet."
I smile," thanks Knucklehead. I kinda needed that." I still grip Silver's hand softly, listening to his weak and strained breaths.

For days, i stayed near Silver's side, and i found myself trying to send thought messages to Shadow. It didn't matter that Shadow was numb, maybe he was getting them and i just didn't know. Silver had woken up a day ago and had managed to tell me what he knew. He had landed 200 years ahead of this time, and the whole world was covered in lava and flame. No wonder he was suffering. I couldn't have survived what he did. I could only respect my younger triplet. Please get better soon.
