Synopsis: "Almost [there], but not quite". Mei-Mei and Po sprung up shortly after Mei-Mei's character and summary was released following the announcement of KFP3. In fact, it's gained such a fan base over the course of a few months that it's almost made it to the top five rank. (Note that I said 'almost'). While in the initial draft, Mei-Mei was supposed to be Po's fiancee, this didn't make it to screen and she wound up just being flirty and romantically interested in him. In the meantime, while not much fan art and zero fan fiction is being produced, a shipping war began between the TiPo shippers and the PMM shippers over which one is superior. Loyal TiPo shippers arguing for Tigress and Po say that the two deserve to be together after being teased on for eight years. Plus, they're cute and "are a yin-yang when together".-"50 Reasons to Ship TiPo, Youtube". On the other hand, PMM shippers, mostly made of people who despise TiPo, claim that the two belong together because they're both of the same species, declaring TiPo to be "disgusting". The war has gotten so bad that's it's been dubbed The Great Ship War, coming to a heated draw sometime after the movie was released.

My Opinion: Since the start of Kung Fu Panda, my shipping loyalties have always laid with TTL. However, over the years, I've turned into quite the TiPo fan, despite everything else, and honestly? While Mei-Mei does seem like a nice person, I'm going to have to say no on this one. I admit that it was kind of funny to see her flirting with Po, but my heart doesn't ship these two. At all.
