"Oh, we have muffins, Emily is always baking them," Leah told the girls gently. Offering both hands to help the girls up. Bella accepted the hand but Andy remained seated. Her focus on her throbbing thigh. Looking at her jeans, she wasn't surprise to see the blotch of blood that was beginning to stain the fabric.
"Bells, we might have to call Carlisle," Andy spoke softly, not one looking up at the people around her.
A low whimpering caught her attention and glancing up, she could see the way Quil looked hurt by the sight of her blood. Eyes grazing over the others, she felt her insides twist at the horror-stricken look on Lynn's face.
"Hey Lynn," she breathed, waving the girl over to her side. The group of onlookers began to protest but were silenced by the threatening look that Leah sent them.
Slowly, the young shifter sat at Andy's side but made sure to keep her distance. She looked frightened to be sitting so close to a human that she had already hurt once.
"You won't hurt me so start acting like yourself before I get super annoyed and leave," Andy groaned.
"No! You can't leave!" Quil shouted from the porch section where his friends held him back.
Lynn snarled in his direction, unconsciously leaning in front of Andy defensively. Feeling the tension rise, the bleeding girl placed a comforting hand on her friend's shoulder and the mood instantly relaxed. Everyone glanced her way and she smiled innocently.
"Everyone needed to relax," she stated innocently.
From the group, Emily stepped forward with a kind smile. The two wolves that were neck to her tensed up a little and looked to Andy for instructions. The youngest Swan gave an inviting nod and held out a shaking hand to the woman.
Emily took her hand, giving a light squeeze before looing at the other two girls. "Do you want to bring her in? I have a first aid kit inside and I'll be much more comfortable for her."
Bella reached to help her sister up as she sat in a frightened state of shock but was beat by Lynn swiftly lifting her into her arms and cradling Andy to her chest. Leah stood to the front of them, pushing past the boys as and sending them heavy glares.
Inside was sweet and cozy, warm and cozy. The furniture was simple and the space was small but the house smelt like freshly baked muffins and cookies. Being placed onto the couch, Leah dug through a box of clothes and handed the girl a pair of shorts.
"They're the smallest pair that we have but they probably won't fit your small ass," the Clearwater shifter commented.
Andy remained frozen, her lips parted slightly only for her to tense up as the rest of the pack migrate into the home. Without realizing it, tears began to slip from her eyes and her breathing became ragged. Everything felt much too small, the room closing in on her as more and more people entered. Her heart ached feeling as though it was trying to burst from her chest and she curled in on herself.
"Andy?" Bella called out to her sister. She reached for the girl, arms wrapping around her in a familiar embrace- something the elder sister had done many times in similar situation- but it did nothing to comfort the girl.
She wheezed in a breath, eyes blinking rapidly through tears and she felt the brush of soft fur against her cheek. Fingers curled around the kitten as her head began to feel light.
Arguing echoed around her and she could only make out the sound of the voices, the words sounded foreign and far away.
"Andy, focus on me." His voice was different, lowered than she remembered. "What are five things you can see?"
"Nothing," she chocked out. "It's all blurry, I can't-"
"Four things you can feel?" he cut her off.
"Mr. Darcy, Bella's arms," she stuttered. "The pain in my thigh, uh, I don't know."
"Take a breath, baby. What are three thins you can hear?"
"My heart in my ears, whispering, you."
Blinking the tears from her eyes, she searched the room, finding him across from her straining against the arms of his friends. Her breathing was stuttered, as she gasped for air and shook softly.
"Two things you can smell?" he continued, his eyes never leaving hers.
"Muffins and cookies," she stated between breaths.
His lips quirked slightly, "One thing you love?"
She looked at him, his eye full of tenderness and her mouth parted. She cast her eyes down, hiding behind yet lashes because he knew the answer. He knew all the things she could have stated, but the first thing that came to mind was him.
It was odd to think that her heart still beat furiously in her ears but was no longer intimidating. How her breathing was still harsh but it slowly began to return to a normal rhythm. Tired, more so than before, she stopped trying to fight off the different things around her that she sensed. Both negative and positive hit her and she began to drift from consciousness resting on her sister shoulder.
A hand brushed the hair from her face and she heard someone gasp. The room full of wolves let out low hisses and Bella snapped at them all.
"Leave it. You all must know what happened."
"What happened?" Lynn asked fiercely, the girls anger lashed at Andy's skin like a whip and the girl whimpered.
"Now isn't story time," Sam's baritone hushed the room. "Lynn, you should go see Billy."
Andy's hand slithered away from Mr. Darcy and attached itself around her friend's wrist. "I don't have to listen to you. You aren't my Alpha."
Lifting her head, she looked to everyone with sleepy eyes "Can't she stay? I'll go with her after a nap."
The Cameron girl leaned into her friend and held her in a hug. It blanketed her, cocooning her in a warm embrace.
