Gravel crunch under tires as she rolled up the road toward the quaint wooden cottage. It was dark, the glaring high beams did little to drown out the surrounding shadows. She was seated forward, body and seat nearly pressed up against the wheel in the large car.
The wind was soft but no doubt carrying the scent of vampire from the car down to the home- sending the pack on edge.
She found herself being correct as snarls and growls filled the air- her eyes wide as they approached the jeep. Nearly at the house, she sped up, a small shriek tumbling past her lips as she nearly hit one of the wolves.
Her fingers clenched around the wheel as they followed her, fury set in their eyes. She found it incredibly that none of them realized it was her. With a role of her eyes, she opened he window- feeling the chilly air sting against her skin.
The reaction that she suspected was nearly instant- she watched in amusement as they stumbled to a stop, realization flashing across briefly through their eyes before they disappeared into the trees. The loud howl that echoed around her causing her to jerk the wheel.
It wasn't long before the rolled to a stop in front of the house, shirtless boys gathering around her with food in their hands- Emily joining them with a muffin balanced in her hand, holding toward the girl that still sat buckled in her seat.
Sending them a brief smile, she squinted in the sparse light for the boy she drove down to see. He stood near the trees, chest heaving as he had been the fastest to run to get there.
Unbuckling herself, she jumped to the floor and walked toward him with purpose. It was easy to drown out the others- forcing them from her mind as she zeroed in on him.
"Drea, wha- how ar- when-" he wrung his hands, shuffling his feet as he faced her. "What are you doing here? I thought you were busy? You weren't answering your phone when I called and I was going kinda crazy, so I don't understand why-"
"Shut up," Andy mumbled. Stopping in front of him, she reached up and wrapped her arms around his shoulders- pulling down so that she didn't need to balance on her toes.
Soft- it was the first word that rang through her head as her lips met his. Two pieces that drawn together like magnets, fitting together perfectly. He was intoxicating, his mouth the sweetest wine on her lips- a raging fire started by live wire at the touch.
Their lips were two parts of a whole- smooth and firm, yet so soft. His hands pressed into her lips, squeezing oh so delicately. He pulled her closer, their heartbeats pounding dangerously in sync.
A groan pulled from the back of his throat, one hand tangling in her hair at the base of her neck sensually. Moving her own arms, she grazed her fingers along his neck and cupped his jaw. She nipped at his lip, a strangled sound leaving him and his lips parted for her.
She breathed him in- tongue meeting his with a shy fury. She was all passion and love, her body burning as his hands roamed her sensually. He was everything she could feel- he was everything that held her still as her world toppled and spun.
Her hands gripped him tighter- fingers digging into him but he didn't seem bothered. He held her closer, pulling her against him firmly and they parted- breathing laboured and broken. Foreheads met- eyes lifting to meet the other through thick lashes. She was dizzy- head spinning with thoughts of him, her body yearning for more.
They didn't speak- Quil's hands lingering on her. She felt overwhelmed- with his emotions as well as her own. Simply looking at him had her heart fluttering- a blush gracing her face at the small smile on his face.
"Well damn," Paul's voice sounded from behind her- a low whistle sounding.
Flooding with embarrassment, her face fell into the crook of his neck- letting out a hot breath as she relaxed against him. Quil wrapped his arms around securely- she could feel his euphoria- it was enough to make her role her eyes as she knew that he had to be wearing some type of grin.
Giggling sounded and next thing she knew, she was being pulled out of his arms and swung around in a tight embrace. A shriek of her own passed Andy's lips before she burst into laughter, blinking brown hair from her eyes.
Once again being pulled away into a different pair of arms. The person nuzzled her neck, their nose gliding alone the base. She shivered at the touch, leaning into it. His chuckle was low and warming, sending a sensation down her spine.
"Enough," she whispered, pushing him away anxiety filling her chest from the multitude of eyes on her. "We still need to talk."
They sat in silence, Andy shuddering as the old of the night seemed to catch up to her. It was freezing out- no doubt about it- but she refused to admit she was actually cold to the boy sitting next to her. She would never hear the end of it.
Sitting next to him had her tongue tied, words sticking in her mouth at the prospect of speaking. She had been the one that said they needed to talk, but her head seemed to freeze at the proximity.
"You know, I had to wrestle Emmett to get the keys to the jeep. He was the only one home- he was actually the one that talk some sense into me about the entire situation. Uh- anyways, I had to wrestle them from him, but I think he simply took pity on my weak effort and he let me get them," Andy rambled nervously.
Quil didn't respond, he only glanced her way subtly. The anxiety that seeped off of him was alarming, and Andy's heart began to increase at the sensation. Her breathing became heavy but she miraculously kept heart hands steady.
"I start finals at the end of the week and then I graduate, are you going to be there? Because I don't think I can go through it without you there," the words tumble from her mouth before she could prevent them.
"Of course, I'll there," his reply was immediate, his eyes on the side of her face left a fiery trail.
"Great, that's- uh, great," she whispered through dry lips.
"Graduation," he mumbled. She looked his way, finding him staring straight ahead blankly- his hands clenched at his sides. "What are you plans after graduation?"
A flurry of emotions flooded her, conflicting and turning around I a chaos that had tears pooling. Her fingers shook and she played with the hem of her shirt in an attempt to distract herself from how much she felt.
"I have absolutely no idea," she stammered. "I got accepted to so many colleges- everyone wants the smart kid that skipped two grades but- I don't know. I don't know what I want to be or who I want to be and-"
"Drea- Drea it's okay," Quil muttered, hands wrapping around her forearms and pulling her over the onto his lap. His smoothed her hair, brushing it back and placing gentle kisses to her forehead. "It's okay."
She gasped, lungs constricting and squeezing preventing her from catching her breath. Her head felt dizzy and her hands were cold and she was having difficulty focusing on the world around her.
"Andrea," Quil called out to her- his panic and fear festered inside of her, reminding her of the torment that she had been putting him through.
"Andy," she gasped, a scowl settling on her face despite everything.
She squeezed her eyes shut, pulling in the deepest breaths that she could but she still sounded as though she was wheezing. Tears coated her cheeks and her heart beat painfully against her chest. It was heavy, weighing her down forcefully.
Her vision swam with black dots- her body slumping against his. His fingers brushing against her skin frantically- unconsciously swirling patterns against her skin with a delicate touch because he was always so delicate with her.
Carefully, almost cautious, he placed his lips upon her own- different from the first time, sweeter than the first time and she stilled. Neither moved, and there was nothing sensual about the fleeting contact but it was every bit intimate.
And she lingered breath held as he pulled away slowly- her hands held in the air where she had unknowingly placed them on his chest.
"So, it doe work," he joked lightly in a soft voice.
"What?" Andy questioned, slowly coming out of her daze.
"There's this thing where we can hear each others thoughts as wolves," Quil explained bitterly. "I picked up on this time where something like this happened."
Nodding, she let her head fall onto his shoulder tiredly. She glanced at the clock, wincing at the time, and groaned lowly.
"Do you think I'd be in much trouble if I skipped school tomorrow?" she grumbled into his skin. "Wait- no, how mad would Emmett be if I didn't return tonight with his precious jeep?"
"I can drive you back if you-"
"No, do you even have a licence? I'm my dad's a cop, no way am I letting you drive. Plus, I wouldn't mind staying on the res for the night, weren't one of you supposed to sit outside my window anyways?" Andy said. "I can just stay at your house. We've slept near each other many times before, why would this be any different?"
"Well..." he teased, letting his voice trail off.
A blush painted her face, burning a rosy pink. "You don't mean..."
Laughing loudly, he kissed her temple in an attempt to stifle the sound. "I'm joking babe. You're adorable when you get all flustered."
Mocking him under her breath, she ignored the warm feeling in her chest and said, "We still need to talk."
Quil hummed lightly his cheek pressing to the top of her head, he kept quiet and let her continue.
"I was talking with Emmett earlier, he had wanted to goof around- probably play Mario Kart or something but I was trying to distract myself. I couldn't get my head straight and everything kept pilling up with-" she inhaled sharply, fingers twitching. "The imprint played such a big role; the reason why everyone here was fighting with each other and why you and Embry were fighting because of Lynn and I, but nothing could compare to the way the imprint hammered at me because I simply couldn't figure out if what you felt for me was real.
"But then Emmett told me about how the imprint was only a way to bring us together- to show me who my soulmate is. You love me, and that fact doesn't change no matter what brought on those emotions. Sometimes I think I'm crazy because I see things so differently from everyone else, but then I remember that I am not everyone else, and you aren't just some guy- you're my forever, even if the right now kinda sucks."
Warmth spread across her face as Quil held her haw in his hands and she pressed into the touch before pulling away.
"You need to make up with Embry, he's your best friend, and you need to stop being so mean to Lynn because she's my best friend and she is important to me," Andy told him- wriggling out of his lap and into the driver's seat. "And you need to make the rest of the pack stop fighting, it drives me crazy."
"You're pushy today," Quil mumbled sarcastically.
Rolling her eyes, Andy flicked his ear. "Don't get use to it. Something's all wack with my emotions and Jasper's trying to help me fix it."
"You don't need to fix anything," he spat. "You're perfect the way you are."
Bandy blushed and kept her eyes forward, she couldn't come up with a dignified answer.
