Ch. 13: The Feast of All Sinners
That same night after the Hollow had taken over Hope, everyone was gathered in the ballroom of the compound to talk about the plan, except for Hayley, who was out there looking for Hope/The Hollow.
"The Hollow has been haunting New Orleans for centuries," Vincent told us. "It's an unending evil. Its appetite for power in insatiable. And that's what attracted it to your little girl."
"You said there was a way to save her," I told him.
"There is, but I'm gonna tell you right now, you are not gonna like my plan," Vincent told us. "Step one, we pull the Hollow out of Hope. Step two, we find someplace else to put it. But with the book gone, I need a place that's both powerful and and eternal. And in order to make the transition work, I'm going to need something that's connected to Hope through blood."
"You need a vampire," Marcel told him.
"You want to put the Hollow into one of my siblings?" Freya asked.
"One ain't gonna cut it," Vincent told us. "I'm gonna need four of them."
"Why four of us?" Elijah asked.
"Well, 1500 years ago when the Hollow was first killed, they divided her remains," Vincent answered. "Four bones, four volunteers, four different locations. That's how we're going to beat the Hollow now."
"Transferring the Hollow's power into four immortal vampires," Freya told us.
"And just send us on our way?" Rebekah asked.
"So the evil is drawn, quartered and separated for all time," Marcel told us.
"And you have to go your separate ways," Vincent told us. "And you have to stay separate for all time. You can never see each other again. You can never go near each other again. That is the only way that we're going to beat the Hollow."
The siblings were horrified, though they knew that they didn't have any other choices at the moment.
Klaus sighed, taking a moment to respond. "Well, if it will save my little girl, then we will make it so."

Marcel went to get Sofya's help, while the Mikaelsons were trying to get Kol back in town.
I went to Rousseau's, holding a meeting with vampires and witches, looking at my phone that showed a picture of Hope. "I just texted all of you a photo. Now, scour the city. That means everyone is searching everywhere. Witches, check the Cauldron. Vampires, search the Quarter."
Everyone stood to leave.
Dominic led a few followers of the Hollow into the restaurant to face all of us.
I looked at Dominic in shock, reeling from the fact that he was alive, again, after being killed twice.
"Hello, Noah," Dominic told me.
I sighed, rolling my eyes. "You've got to be kidding me."
"Goodbye, Noah," Dominic told me.
I rushed toward Dominic. Dominic and the witches behind him used magic to throw me back across the restaurant, into the wall, making me fall. They caused all of the vampires in the room a massive pain infliction spell that brought everyone to their knees, yelling and groaning in pain, snapping our necks to make us fall unconscious.
****
I woke up before any of the other vampires did, talking to Marcel and Sofya.
"We should go before whoever did this decides to come back," Sofya told him.
"No need," I told them. "They're long gone."
Marcel helped me up. "Easy. Easy. Hey. You guys got hit pretty hard." I sighed, nodding in agreement, smirking sarcastically. "Tell me what happened."
"No, it's pretty straightforward," I told them with honest sarcasm. "Really. Creepy resurrected witch made me his personal pinata."
"What creepy resurrected witch?" Sofya asked.
"Oh, that would be your old buddy, Dominic," I answered.
Sofya sighed, looking away.
"Wait, how the hell is he alive?" Marcel asked.
"Does anything surprise you at this point?" I asked. "I mean, look around. We're standing in the middle of a war zone."
"The Hollow almost destroyed me," Sofya told us. "Now it's raising the dead? I say either get out of here while we can, or we offer the Hollow a deal."
"Uh, sorry to interrupt here," I told her sarcastically. "I'm kidding, I don't really care. Wouldn't it be smart to, like, align ourselves with the crazy powerful unbeatable family who also wants to kill this thing?"
****
Marcel and I were gathering up dark objects, including anti-magic shackles that we would need to contain Hope/The Hollow, and a magical powder that was infused with magic that would make her fall unconscious.
"This collection is priceless," Marcel told me. "Are we sure we want to hand it all over to the Mikaelsons?"
"Dark objercts belong to this city," I told him. "As long as they help us take down the Hollow, that's all that matters."
Marcel picked up the knife that Freya had made to kill him. "Even if it means trusting the family who made a weapon specifically designed to kill me? The same guys that sacrificed Davina?"
I nodded. "Desperate times. We need allies."
****
Marcel and I came to the church where a congregation was gathered in front of Hope/The Hollow and Dominic, carrying the dark objects that we needed to get close enough to the Hollow to go through with our plan.
"Quite the party," I told them.
"Marcel Gerard," Dominic told him. "King of New Orleans." Hope/The Hollow used magic to put up a boundary spell between us and them so we couldn't walk any closer. "Accompanied by his top adviser, Noah Dumaine, who the people have grown used to calling prince of New Orleans. I trust you've come to grovel and bow before the power of the Hollow."
"Actually, we came to make a truce," Marcel told them. "The way I see it, we all have the same enemy. The Mikaelsons. Now, you help us get them out of this city, and maybe there's a world in which we all live happily ever after."
Dominic smirked. "Diplomacy. Wise choice."
Hope/The Hollow and Dominic exchanged a look, nodding.
Hope/The Hollow lowered the boundary spell in front of me and Marcel so we could walk toward them. We stopped in front of Hope/The Hollow.
"I want the king and prince to kneel before me," Hope/The Hollow told us.
Marcel and I sighed, kneeling in front of Hope/The Hollow.
Dominic looked at the crowd of witches. "Behold, commons of New Orleans. Even the great Marcel Gerard and Noah Dumaine are nothing in the face of the Hollow."
Marcel and I both looked up, blowing powder from our hands onto Hope/The Hollow, the powder spelled to put her to sleep. As she started to fall, I caught her, standing, rushing out of the church, leaving Marcel, Klaus and Elijah to deal with Dominic and the witches.

Kol finally got back, and Marcel and I were meeting up with the Mikaelsons and Vincent at the compound to make sure that all of this went down smoothly the next morning.
Everyone was gathered in the courtyard for the spell. Vincent had placed a sigil on the floor, where Hope was lying unconscious inside, and Hayley was kneeling next to her. There were four candles on the four points of the sigil for each of the siblings, where they were all standing around Hope.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Rebekah asked. "You've come to gloat?"
"No," I answered. "We came to make sure this works."
"Elijah, I need you right there at the top," Vincent told him. "Klaus, right there for me, please." Each of the siblings were standing where Vincent had told them to stand. "And we are ready. I just want to say that what you guys are doing here today is going to go a long way toward setting things right in this city. The Hollow took everything away from me. It inspired nothing but suffering and torment. It's ruined families. It's gone after little kids. And yet here and now, despite all of our differences..." Vincent managed a smile. "And there are many..." He placed a hand over his heart, nodding to the siblings. "Thank you. Freya?"
Vincent held up his hand to silently communicate that he needed help for the spell.
Freya didn't want to do this or have this done, but knew that they didn't have a choice at the time, walking over to Vincent, taking him by the hand to start the spell.
Rebekah sighed. "Savage Mikaelsons heroically defeating a terrible evil. Maybe this will finally earn us our redemption."
"Do any of us really believe that?" Klaus asked.
"Not for a second," Elijah answered. "It's a wonderful sentiment."
Freya and Vincent exchanged a look, nodding.
"Let's go," Vincent told her. Freya and Vincent knelt down to begin the spell. "Hayley, when I tell you to, I want you to take the manacles off, hold onto Hope. Do not let her go. Everybody else, when this spell is over, you got to get away from each other, and you have to stay away from Hope."
The siblings looked at each other, tears in their eyes, nearly crying.
"Always and forever," Rebekah told them. "We had a good run."
"Yeah," Kol agreed.
Vincent started to chant the spell so that Freya could learn what she had to say, making a magical wind start to breeze through the entire room, blowing everyone's hair around, and making all of the lights flicker around them. "Diviser. Diviser ak konkeri. Diviser. Diviser ak konkeri."
Freya started to chant with Vincent. "Diviser. Diviser ak konkeri. Diviser. Diviser ak konkeri. Diviser. Diviser ak konkeri. Diviser. Diviser ak konkeri."
"Do it now," Vincent told them. "Do it now, Hayley."
Hayley removed the shackles from Hope.
The blue light, the Hollow, was released from Hope's body, floating above her in the middle of everyone. It was shot into the chests of Kol, Rebekah, Klaus and Elijah, making them all lurch back a little with their arms raised at their sides. The blue light faded as the Hollow was imprisoned in all four of their bodies, without a way to take control of them or possess them.
Rebekah was breathing heavily, overwhelmed. "I can hear it... whispering."
"Okay, you guys need to go," Vincent told them. The siblings hesitated. "Now!"
Kol and Rebekah rushed out of the compound, heading their separate ways.
Elijah hesitated for a moment to look at Hayley, Hope and Klaus, rushing out of the compound, leaving.
Klaus wouldn't leave just yet, not while Hope was still unconscious. "I need to know if she's all right."
"Klaus, I promise you, she is going to be okay if you go," Vincent told him.
Klaus looked conflicted on whether to leave right now for Hope's protection, or to stay long enough to make sure that she was okay. Freya looked at her brother sadly in sympathy.
Hope started to wake up.
Hayley held Hope close in relief. "It's okay, baby. You're okay."
Klaus looked at Hope in relief.
Hope sat up, looking confused as to why everyone was acting like this. "Daddy? What's happening?"
Klaus didn't want to leave, but knew that he had to. "Hope, I love you."
Klaus rushed out of the compound, leaving.
Vincent sighed in relief.
Hope was incredibly confused. "Dad. Dad? Dad!"
Marcel and I were extremely saddened by how she had to lose her father again.
****
Elijah knew that if Klaus, Kol or Rebekah needed help in anyway, that he would break the promise that they would stay away from each other to try and help them, and that would give the Hollow more solid power to try and break free and start all of this again. So he asked for help on making sure that wouldn't happen.
Vincent was starting a spell that would allow Marcel to compel Elijah to forget his family.
"How do you know that this will work?" Marcel asked.
"Well, with Vincent's power, he can open Elijah's mind, allowing you to compel him, to release Elijah from always and forever," I told him.
"The Hollow's too powerful," Vincent told us. "It's gonna tempt him to get back with his siblings. We don't do this, the Hollow's gonna come back."
"What if we're just creating a monster here?" Marcel asked.
"I am a monster," Elijah told him. "You of all people know that."
Marcel sighed. "Okay. Okay, but how do I compel an Original?"
"Marcel, you haven't even begun to tap into all that power that our Ancestors put inside of you," Vincent told him. "Now, if we combine that with my spells, we can wipe out centuries of family drama."
I looked at Elijah. "Are you sure you really want that?"
Elijah looked heartbroken, but knew that if they didn't do this, that he would be tempted to go back to his family. "Yes."
Marcel nodded, stepping closer. "All right."
Vincent stood behind Elijah, putting his hands on either side of his head to cast a spell that would open his mind so that Marcel could compel him. "Louvri... Louvri animo. Louvri animo. Louvri animo. Pemet pou accessum."
Vincent finished the spell, going over to stand next to me.
I sighed, looking at Marcel, nodding. "Okay, do it now."
Marcel started to compel Elijah. "Your vow, the promise of always and forever, forget it. All the pain that went with it... all the love... forget it. The family you cherish, the vow that you have honored... forget it. Let it go. Let it go."
Elijah snapped out of his daze.
"Elijah?" I asked.
Vincent looked between us.
Elijah looked free from everything, not remembering anything that had to do with his family, or us, not recognizing us.
****
The Mikaelsons were all gone now.
Hayley was taking Hope to a magic school in Mystic Falls, Virginia so that she could learn how control her magic, to be with friends her own age, and to learn how to be comfortable with how she was.
Freya was with the werewolf Keelin, no doubt going to be searching for ways to get rid of the Hollow for good so that she could reunite her family and return to their vow of always and forever, for which I hoped that Marcel would reverse Elijah's compulsion and allow him to remember everything again.
Kol was with the resurrected Davina, having his happy ever after.
Rebekah and Marcel had gotten back together after Marcel had dumped Sofya to be with Rebekah, and they were happy for now, but for who knew how long?
And Klaus... Klaus would have to spend his days away from Hope again, but this time, it wasn't a dungeon that was locking him away, but the threat of that the spirit inside him could hurt her all over again.
Yes, they could be happy, but they couldn't be happy together.
As for me, since Marcel had left to go with Rebekah, he had left me to deal with New Orleans until whenever he decided to return.
So being home here in New Orleans with control of the city...
I wasn't a tyrant, but I had to say that I liked the feeling of being able to stop any bad things from happening in the Quarter, for the time being, because we knew for a fact that nothing stayed quiet in New Orleans, or with the Mikaelsons, for very long.
