Ok I rewrote this chapter like 3 times lmao.
the goal with the whole Reina going to town and getting that horrible reaction was to reflect on the discrimination against people of colour, and with this muslims and Arabs in particular face, in the modern world.
But I feel like a lot of people were more concerned about Reina not listening to Harry lmaooo. Das alright, let's see the opinions at the end of this chapter.

"What the fuck were you thinking?"
Reina found it hard not to flinch at Harry's loud, rough voice when he yelled at her as soon as they were past the large oak doors of the castle. Reina knew she made a mistake when she chose not to pay attention to Harry and Fredric's warnings. She was still a little shaken up from the incident that had occurred and wanted to be alone for a few. But Harry followed her as she tried to go to their bedchamber, yelling extremely loudly and completely losing his temper
"Fucking look at me when I am talking to you, Reina," Harry reached out to grab her wrist, making her snap and turn around to pull her hand back. "Why did you not listen to me when I told you to stay in the castle?"
Reina didn't answer him because she didn't know what to say. She was being stubborn when she had decided to go out into town despite Harry's warnings, because she didn't like it when she was being told what to do. She had also underestimated the people of Siremeth, thinking that she could handle whatever discrimination she was going to face. But she didn't think it was going to be that bad.
"You were being stubborn and foolish is what I'd like to hear," Harry snapped her back to reality, making her frown deeply. "Fucking answer me-"
"I am sorry!" She yelled at him. "I apologize for not listening to you but please do not yell at me and call me foolish after all the negative things that I've been forced to listen to about myself during the past hour!"
"I-I know I underestimated the level of the discrimination I was going to face today and went ahead anyways. I just wanted to see the town, get to know what kind of people I was going to rule over one day-"
"No, you left because you were stubborn and you were fucking bored!" Harry retaliated roughly, making her facial expression fall.
"I tried to stay out of everyone's way but the boy was starving, and-and his friends. My compassion took ahold of my senses, Harry. I couldn't help it," she tried to defend herself. She found it hard to argue back and defend herself because she was partially at fault for not listening to Harry, but she was also hurting and really didn't want to fight with Harry at the moment.
"Reina," Harry growled. "If you did not go out of your way to help those peasant children none of this would have happened-"
"I helped them because I care for the poor, Harry. I help those in need of it because that is what my father has taught me to do ever since I was a little girl," Reina snapped loudly, earning the attention of everyone around them in the castle, including the King who had just arrived with Fredric and the guards.
"That is not the way of the royals here, Reina. The poor here are thieving, scumbags who are not grateful for what they already have," Harry responded sharply. "The people of Siremeth are very different to the ones of Vardomos."
"I apologize for getting that incorrect then," Reina sighed heavily. "I was only trying to help. I have a feeling the same thing would happen even if I left the castle with your permission, by your side with guards."
"That is bedsides the point, Reina. You disobeyed me. I was trying to keep you safe," Harry seethed quietly. "And stop shouting at me for fuck's sake," Harry said through gritted teeth, cheeks aflame as his father watched this argument unfold along with the rest of the curious eyes that watched them.
"I would advise you to listen to my son, Princess," the King spoke up from behind them, making Reina's cold gaze snap towards him.
"With all due respect, your grace, this argument is between my husband and I, and is none of your concern, thank you very much," she spoke sharply, her words irritating the King and making Harry grimace because he felt more and more humiliated every time his wife spoke back to the King.
"It is of my concern because if my son fails to control you now only the gods above know how terrible of a Queen you will be when your time comes to rule this realm alongside my son," the King snapped back in response, making Reina's lips part.
"Since you clearly struggle to be a good princess and an obedient wife to my son, you will be spending time every day with the Queen, learning everything you will need to know about being a good, faithful, woman. You will learn to keep the lid on your nasty temper, and tame your sharp tongue."
"You mean-" Reina began to say angrily before Harry snapped at her harshly, jaw clenching and vein pulsing in his neck.
"Quiet, Reina," he seethed, making Reina's jaw slacken at his harsh tone.
"You will start tomorrow morning. Hopefully this will help tame your wife, son," the King said to Harry, making Reina's blood boil. "Take these lessons seriously, do I make myself clear?"
"Yes, your grace," Reina forced herself to say because she could practically feel Harry's gaze burning into her flesh, warning her not to talk back.
Reina couldn't say anymore as the King dismissed them and Harry had quickly come up behind her and wrapped his fingers tightly around her wrist. She struggled against him as he dragged her away to a quiet hallway for now. She pushed him away when he let her go, glaring at him furiously just as he stared back at her with eyes filled with rage.
"I-" she began to say before he cut her off with a few menacing words with a finger pointing at her angrily.
"Do not speak a word right now. Fredric will take you to our bedchamber and you are to stay there until I allow you to come out."
"Harry-"
"Not a fucking word," Harry hissed angrily, his hot breath fanning against her face as he stood extremely close to her. "Your behavior today humiliated me, Reina. In front of all those people. In front of my father. The fucking King."
"But-"
"No!" Harry snapped, seething quietly as they waited for Fredric to come. "You must learn that you cannot just speak whatever the fuck you want to whenever the fuck you want to, Reina. Especially not when it comes down to the King! There are limits and boundaries and you just crossed all of them today."
"I admired you, Reina, for your ability to speak up for yourself. But today was not the day for that," Harry shook his head with a heavy sigh.
Reina remained uncharacteristically quiet as she took in all of Harry's scoldings while they waited for Fredric to reach them. Harry was extremely upset, mostly due to the fact that now majority of the court and his father know about his untamed wife who likes to talk back to anyone and everyone. He was embarrassed because they all probably think he has no control over his wife and that she has no respect for him.
Fredric arrived just then and Harry couldn't be happier. Reina lingered back, gazing at him with soft, pained eyes but he sent her away, snapping and questioning why was she still standing there. Her heart was heavy in her chest as she trudged back to their bedchamber, mind a chaotic mess due to the events that had occurred today.
The insults the commoners of Siremeth called out to her were still fresh in her mind as she entered their bedchamber. Fredric stood by the doorway, frowning deeply as she sat down on the edge of the bed with her gaze averted to her lap. He wondered if she was going to cry and immediately felt sad and pity for her.
"Will you be alright, Princess?" He questioned ever so quietly, making her look up at him.
"I will," she assured him with a smile that didn't reach her eyes.
"I am sorry for what happened today at the town. I too did not expect the people to be so harsh and cruel. Normally, if a royal is kind to them they weep tears of joy, and if a foreigner is around they'd shoot dirty looks and spit at their feet. But never throw food and waste with insults that cruel," he told her quietly, making her sigh and nod in understanding.
"It is because I am a Rahraenos, and a foreigner. They hate me because of my father and the rebellion he caused. They hate me because their future Queen is some foreigner who doesn't know them at all. They think I will end up mad like my father, or violent like those terrible foreigners we are often stereotyped as."
"No, Princess," was all Fredric could say even though he knew she was right. "The people are bitter and resentful with feeble minds. They do not understand that you are unlike your father and those foreigners."
"Yes, they don't," she simply said in response. "I apologize by the way, for not listening to you too."
"There's no need to apologize, m'lady," Fredric said sheepishly. " I am no advisor of yours to tell you what to do. Just merely your bodyguard."
"But you were warning me because you knew the people when I didn't. Therefore, I should have listened to you," Reina responded, but Fredric shook his head.
"I only didn't think it was a wise idea because it is uncommon for royals to feed peasants. I was worried Harry or the King would stumble upon us is all. As for the commoners reaction, I didn't think much of it because I never thought they would react so harshly," Fredric explained himself.
"Well that is what I get for doing what I've been taught to do," Reina said bitterly to herself. "That is what I get for doing things without considering the ideals of the different kingdom I am in."
"All you wanted to do was help, my princess. Do not ever feel bad for that," were Fredric's last words before he headed towards the door to exit. "Is there anything you need?"
"No, thank you," she murmured, chewing on her lower lip. "Actually-"
"Yes?"
"Harry," she sighed a little. "He is upset with me. Will it last long?"
"Unfortunately, yes. He was somewhat correct about the humiliation part," Fredric said lowly.
"You heard that?"
"He was quite loud, m'lady."
"I did not mean to humiliate him," she said in a frustrated voice. "I just-I just lost control. Even though I try not to, I have some sort of deep hatred for the King, all because he murdered my father and think I am some sort of untamed beast that needs controlling. I know my limits, but I just lost control," she tried to explain but her emotions were choking up her words.
"He will understand if you just explain that to him, Princess," Fredric told her firmly. "He cares for you, more than he'd like to admit to me or anyone else for that matter. He will eventually succumb and listen if he tries to resist at first."
"Alright," she nodded with a sigh. "Thank you, Fredric. Truly."
"Always at your service, m'lady," he said, the formality of his words making her smile a little, glad she had a friend.
But as soon as he left she was alone again. Along with her thoughts, filled with the insults of the commoners about her origins as well as Harry's harsh words about her being foolish and humiliating him. It put her in a sour mood for the rest of the day. She was a woman who didn't often didn't give a shit about what other people said about her, but when discrimination gets that bad she can't help but feel the stone walls around her shatter. She's been affected by it ever since she was a child and it's been a very long time since it's been as severe as what happened today.
Reina did not know what else to do for the rest of the day but gaze at her dragon eggs or read. She decided to write a letter to Nira, Genevieve and Reyes about what happened today, and informing them that she will not be able to make it back to Vardomos as her chances were barely existent now.
When Harry returned to their bedchamber it was past midnight. Reina was supposed to be in bed while Harry had a few drinks with Declan. But she couldn't sleep and was instead sitting in front of her dragon eggs that she had settled on top of hot coal rocks with a blazing fire underneath. She snapped her head in the direction the sound of their laughter outside the door of their bedchamber. Harry was too drunk to care about keeping his voice down while sharing a few words with Declan before hitting the hay.
"I truly sympathise with you, cousin," Declan chortled, clamping a hand down on his shoulder. Reina was listening now, ears perked. "You married a shrew."
"Aye she's difficult. Wish she wasn't so stubborn and...disrespectful."
"That she is!" Declan agreed loudly. "Did you see the way she spoke to your father? And to you? If she were my wife, I would have backhanded her right then and there."
"A small part of me wanted to," Harry admitted quietly, but even Reina heard it. "Just to get her to stop humiliating me like that. But I would never raise a hand against her like that."
"You're too soft," Declan scoffed. "You won't do it because you know she'll deprive you of her cunt and mouth if you backhanded her."
Reina didn't hear anymore as their voices grew quiet before they grew loud again, the topic different this time.
"She touched herself in front of you? Harry, she truly seems strangely experienced from what you are telling me," Declan said seriously, making Reina's heart drop in her chest all of a sudden.
"I do not want to think about that problem right now," Harry responded with a hiss. "I am already upset with one thing she did, I do not want more reasons to fuel my anger.
"Well I am sure I sparked your curiosity because I have news for you about that," Declan told Harry. "I was fucking a handmaid today and after that we were talking about...well the Rahraenos."
"So? Get on with your point," Harry said impatiently.
"She brought up her encounter with Genevieve Rahraenos on your wedding day, right before the consummation ceremony," Declain continued, his words each striking fear into Reina's heart as she clutched her dragon egg to her chest and stared worriedly at the door. "She said the Lady was quite adamant on only having some Nira girl, Reina's handmaid I think, and a few others set up the room for the ceremony."
"I still do not see where you are going with this," Harry said unsurely, and at this point Reina decided to create some sort of diversion so that Declan could not continue with his story.
Reina rushed to the door and swung it open all of a sudden, revealing the two men standing there along with Fredric and Sebastian standing by the doors. Her diversion wasn't exactly a diversion but it got the men to stop talking and stare at her in surprise.
"Reina, you are awake," Harry said with wide eyes, while she yawned and rubbed her eyes.
"I awoke to your constant chatter, so yes I am awake," Reina muttered with a grumble, leaving the door open for Harry to step inside and walking towards the bed again.
Harry bid his cousin goodnight, before entering the bedchamber, gazing at the bed with a frown. It was neatly-made with all the sheets tucked in.
"You weren't sleeping were you?" Harry questioned, then looking to his right and finding Reina sitting on the floor in front of the dragon eggs. One she was cradling, while the other two laid upon the hot rocks.
"I was waiting for your return," Reina spoke quietly, her words partially honest. "Also because it is hard, after all that has happened today."
"And did you hear our conversation outside?" Harry inquired with an arch of his brow, referring to the words he spoke to Declan just a few seconds ago.
"Just a few words about how you are married to a shrew."
"Anything else?"
"No," she lied, but he believed her. "Did you truly want to backhand me?" she asked him, even though she knew the answer. He didn't say anything because he knew that she knew the answer. "What held you back?"
"I didn't want to hurt you," Harry spoke honestly, as he undid the belt that kept his sword by his side and dropped it on the bed. "And I didn't want to seem cruel in front of my people."
"You seem to care a lot about what other people think of you," Reina pointed out with a frown.
Reina would have argued with much more sarcasm, with him once again, pulling out ever single rude thing he has said about her throughout this day but she felt that the fire within her had dimmed down after the incident in the town. She forgot how easily she could be brought down when being discriminated against. At this moment, she wanted nothing but comfort from Harry, but he wasn't giving it to her. Instead he was scolding her like a child for humiliating him, agreeing with his cousin that backhanding her was something he wanted to do and that she was a shrew.
"And you seem to care very little about what other people think of you," Harry shot back with a glare. "I think that you are forgetting that you are a foreigner after all in a kingdom different to yours. One that is the least accepting of your kind."
"My kind?" Reina uttered softly, hurt lacing her tone. But Harry didn't notice.
"Yes, foreigners. The way you behaved today, just like one. Insolent, disobedient-"
Harry didn't continue and stopped abruptly when he lifted his gaze to find Reina with a hurt expression on her face. He bit his lower lip, wondering if he had gone too far with scolding her once again, and clearly he has. Reina realized her mistakes, and was waiting to apologize to him, but she didn't get the chance to. Harry didn't have to be so unpleasant with his words. He didn't have to yell and scold her as if she was a child. She made a few mistakes due to her compassion and stubbornness taking over her senses and changing her decisions.
"If all you have to say to me is how humiliated you are by the fact that you are married to such a disobedient, careless, stubborn wife then I do not want to hear it," Reina spoke with a hard tone, taking a few steps forwards while speaking. "I do not have the energy to argue with you at the moment because I am hurting. So all I am going to do is apologize, one last time."
"I am sorry I did not listen to you when you told me to stay in the castle. I am sorry I spoke against your father and embarrassed you by showing the people of this castle that you haven't the balls to control me, that is what you were embarrassed of isn't it?"
His silence was confirmation enough, so she continued.
"Or perhaps it was also the fact that I am just foolish for wanting to help peasants. I am sorry I assumed that nothing too bad would happen to me if I help out a few commoners," she continued to ramble.
"This apology is rather long-"
"Oh fuck you," she cried angrily all of a sudden. "You did not even bother to ask if I was okay when we got back. You cannot even begin to understand how horrible it felt to stand there and be bombarded with rotten food, garbage, faeces, along with cruel words of hate. Bitch, cunt, savage- I feel like shit. You yelling, scolding, snapping at me like that...it's too much for me right now."
"Reina," Harry whispered in slight shock, feeling guilty for being inconsiderate. He tried to reach out to touch her hand, but she pulled back with a shake of her head.
"You know there was a day when I was just 7 years old, and an old man spat at my face and told me to rot for being a foreigner," she told him, her voice laced with heavy emotions. "Being there today with all those horrible people...I felt like I was 7 again, seeking for my father's comfort, and-"
She stopped abruptly when she realized she was ranting and on the verge of crying. She had suddenly remembered her father and his words and clamped her mouth shut, too overcome with emotion and afraid to say more about her past to Harry. She didn't want to open up to him, especially not right now. She simply turned away and found her gaze falling upon the dragon eggs once again.
"You are hurting?" Harry murmured in slight confusion, making Reina bite her lip to stop her from snapping back at him. "Reina, I didn't mean to hurt you when I scolded you earlier today I was just...angry."
"Yes, you were angry and you lost your temper, just like I did. But you need to realize that whenever you speak like that your words hurt me more, now than ever because of how I immensely feel for you," she spoke without looking at him, making guilt flood his veins. "I know I made a mistake, but you have no right to make me feel like absolute shit for it."
Harry felt his anger leave his blood the more he replayed Reina's words in his head. This was the first time she had actually admitted that she felt for him. It did indescribable things to his heart, most of all it made him feel horrible for being so harsh with her, which was unnecessary.
Her words about her not having the energy to fight him made him realize how much she was hurting. He had said plenty of things that he knew Reina would have something to say against for sure, but she didn't. The more the thought about it, she should have said something against him having the thought of backhanding her, as well as the fact that he agreed she was a shrew. But she didn't say anything.
"Reina, I'm sorry," he tried to say but he knew it wasn't enough. He tried to speak again but was quickly interrupted by sharp knocking on their bedchamber door.
Fredric entered after Reina muttered a quiet 'come in', blue eyes looking around for her, finding her figure standing by the dragon eggs. He thrusted his hand out with a letter in it, the Rahraenos dragon sigil stamped onto it in hot wax. She took it from him with a racing heart, wondering what it contained and whether if it was urgent or not. Harry watched her open the letter, silver eyes quickly running along the words. He felt his heart drop in his chest when he saw her eyes turn teary.
"What does it say?" Harry couldn't help but ask. "Reina?" he questioned worriedly when her eyes fluttered close, a long tear streaking down her cheek.
"My grandmother has requested for my presence," Reina whispered painfully, wiping her cheek with the back of her hand. "She thinks her time is near and she wants me by her side for when she passes."
"Oh Reina," Harry murmured sympathetically, all his anger for her from earlier today dissipating completely.
Reina's head hung low as she tried to stop the tears from flowing. She loved her grandmother dearly, the woman who raised her alongside her father to be the woman she was today. Her grandmother taught her everything she knew about being a strong, independent woman. She taught her things that were considered unpopular opinions and far too progressive for this time period. Reina could hear her grandmother's warnings about her sharp tongue getting her into trouble and her being courteous to the King at all times, and regretted all she did.
"I need to go back," Reina whispered tearfully, looking up at Harry who had now approached her, kneeling before her. "I need to say goodbye, I-I need to, Harry."
Seeing Reina crying for the first time had Harry's heart aching terribly. He could see the pain in her eyes, swirling between the gray, blue and green hues of her mesmerizing eyes. The pain that came from the insults of the commoners. The pain that came along with Harry's harsh words, and the pain that arose from the news of her dying grandmother.
Harry wanted to take her pain away, and he knew the most he could do for her right now is to convince the King to let her go to Vardomos. But the King would never let her go now, after what happened today. So Harry was conflicted, he couldn't keep his wife from seeing her dying grandmother, he couldn't be so cruel to her.
"Pack your chest," Harry said firmly, making her brows slope downwards as he cupped her cheeks, thumbs sweeping under her eyes to wipe her tears away.
"W-What?" Reina uttered in slight confusion, as he held her hands pulled her up, the dreadful letter falling from her hands.
"We are going to Vardomos," he told her, his words making her heart lift up in her chest but also fill with worry. Her hands held onto his wrists, gazing up at him anxiously.
"Your father, he'll keep me prisoner here if I try to leave the castle," she whispered worriedly, making him smile lightly and shake his head.
"Who said you are leaving alone?" he questioned, making her eyes widen a little. "I will accompany you to Vardomos. If my father has anything to say against that, he will be dealing with me, not you."
"Harry, I-I don't know what to say," Reina mumbled, trying to find words to thank him.
"You do not have to say anything. This is the least I could do to make it up to you for my behavior today," Harry said with a sigh. "I'll start my long apology as soon as we are in a carriage taking us to Vardomos. Now go pack your chest, I'll go inform Fredric to have a carriage ready for us, discreetly."
"Wait, we are leaving now?" Reina said with a frown, stopping him with a hand on his arm.
"It would be best to do it while everyone's asleep," Harry told her, but she shook her head.
"It's far too dark, Harry, and dangerous. The path to Vardomos is lengthy and filled with obstacles, wolves and animals of all sorts."
"Then when do you suggest we go?" Harry frowned at her.
"As soon as the sun rises," she told him. "Early morning would be best rather than after midnight. We can rest before leaving as well."
"Alright, I shall go and inform Fredric of our plans," he nodded in response.
"We should travel by horse, rather than using a carriage," Reina suggested to him, making him frown unsurely. "We will attract less attention that way. In case your father sends men to look for us."
"Makes sense," Harry muttered. "I shall inform Fredric. Let's keep our things lightly packed and ready for us to leave by then. I'll have Fredric wake us up in time."
While Harry went outside the bedchamber to speak to Fredric. Reina went to prepare a small bundle of clothes for a few days in Vardomos. When Harry returned, he too packed some clothes before they both freshened up and headed to bed. Harry felt his heart fall a little at the amount of empty space between him and Reina on the bed. Reina was lying on her side, facing away from Harry, trying to sleep but it was incredibly hard for her. Harry couldn't sleep either because he was far too busy forming a long apology for her. His thoughts were interrupted when Reina spoke up.
"Harry?"
"Yes, Reina," Harry murmured in response.
"Why are you doing this? Why are you taking me to Vardomos behind your father's back?" she questioned softly. "Earlier today you were embarrassed because of me in front of your father, yet now you are ready to defy him and take me back to my kingdom."
"Seeing you crying... it made me want to take your pain away," Harry sighed heavily. "Also, I figured this would do well as an apology."
"You haven't said what exactly you're apologizing for," Reina murmured with an arch of her brow, her words making Harry smile a little in amusement.
"I have an apology prepared. You'll hear it when we travel to Vardomos tomorrow," Harry told her, making her hum in reply. "But for now, I am sorry you had to go through what happened today."
"I underestimated them too much," she murmured in response, turning to face Harry now.
"Pay no attention to their insults, Reina," Harry tried to advise her. "You are a dragon. They are merely sheep. Dragons do not listen to the opinions of the sheep."
"To those sort of opinions, no, you are right," Reina mumbled. "But when we become King and Queen one day, their opinions will matter to us."
"If the sheep are as vile and cruel as the ones we encountered today, we will pay no attention to their opinions," Harry muttered firmly. "The people need to respect their Queen, even if she is a foreigner."
"It will take them time to change their minds," Reina told him. "I realized that today, no matter how kind I be to them, it will take more than that to change their minds."
"I am sure they will take you much seriously once our babies have hatched and you have three full grown dragons by your side. We'll see what they have to say then."
"I do not want to rule with fear, Harry," Reina chuckled lightly. "That isn't the way to rule. I want them to love and respect us."
"If that is what you desire we will make it happen," Harry told her firmly. "I promise."
Do not make promises you cannot keep, she wanted to say. But instead she nodded in response with a sigh before averting her gaze when her thoughts drifted away to her dying grandmother. Harry noticed the sad, distant look that etched upon her face and felt his heart ache for her.
"Do you know of the illness that your grandmother has?" Harry asked quietly, making Reina shake her head sadly.
"It's unknown. They're probably treating her symptoms as they look for a cure," Reina mumbled with a sigh, biting her lower lip and holding her tears back. "I don't want her to die."
"Oh Reina, I pray to the gods above your dear grandmother will be cured soon," Harry murmured sympathetically, the tone Reina used making him sad as he reached out to touch her arm. "I want to hold you."
Reina hesitated and Harry noticed, and understood why. She was still upset with the way he acted towards her and didn't want to give into him that quickly. Harry already guessed this and sighed deeply, before he parted his lips and started apologizing to her. Reina listened quietly as Harry listed every single wrong thing he had said to her with an apology by it.
"I've been a terrible husband and I keep contradicting my words and break my promises when I lose my temper," Harry said with a sigh after apologizing for his behavior. "I know I promised I will try harder to keep the lid on my temper but-"
"But it's hard, I understand, Harry," Reina whispered softly. "It took me a while to learn how to control mine, it was worse than it is now. When I talk back to you or your father that isn't me losing my temper."
"So I've never witnessed the awakening of the dragon?" Harry arched a brow in amusement, while Reina shook her head with a smile. "Where did that come about? Waking the dragon and all that."
"It is sort of our side motto to say 'do not wake the sleeping dragon'. But it was my grandmother so started referring to me as a dragon," Reina said with a light, sad smile dancing on her lips. "She would always tell me I had a fiery temper like a dragon."
"She was the one who taught me to control it, and it took a while. Now I only need to know when to control my tongue," Reina chuckled a little to herself. "But I truly do understand it's hard, and I just know that for me it took something bad to happen as a consequence of losing my temper, in order to motivate me to really stop it."
"What happened?" Harry asked curiously, making Reina clamp her mouth shut, regretting her words.
"I had a horrible fight with my father," she lied to him with a guilty heart. It wasn't her father she fought it. It was her previous lover. "My words hurt him a lot and he didn't speak to me for days. I didn't even get to apologise to him."
"Why?" Harry murmured quietly with a frown.
"Because he went to war and died and I never saw him again."
