"First day of our marriage and you already look so miserable."
Reina's gaze snapped towards Harry where he was sat on the bed, pulling on his boots. She rolled her eyes lightly, ignoring his words while she continued to braid her hair. Harry watched her with a slight frown, wondering why she was so quiet.
After the consummation ceremony last night, Harry and Reina returned to his chambers without a word spoken to each other, except for her thanking him for being so sweet and caring. Reina slept on one side of the bed and remained there for the rest of the night, keeping herself away from Harry who lay there worried that he had hurt or during the ceremony or upset her in some way.
He watched her stand up from her seat by the dressing table, looking in the mirror as she pulled her jewelry on, the dragon necklace and rings. Her body adorned a beautiful baby blue dress, plunging neckline without sleeves and cutouts to reveal her navel. Her dark locks lay over her shoulders and curled down her back, the top part of her head braided beautifully. Harry felt that he had become infatuated by Reina's beauty, finding it odd that it happened so easily and fast compared to the many other times he's met beautiful women. But Reina was by far the most ravishing woman he had ever seen.
Harry stood up as well, walking over to her and standing beside her, still watching her with his brows pulled low, light pink lips held in a pout. Reina's gaze flickered to him briefly, acknowledging his presence beside her. She turned to walk away to retrieve her shoes, but Harry's hand darted out to grasp her wrist, pulling her back gently, trying not to anger her.
"What is on your mind, little dragon?" he asked ever so quietly.
"Many things," she responded, the emotions in her tone difficult for Harry to decipher.
"Such as?" Harry arched a brow, hands slipping down to hold her waist, making her frown slightly. Her hands pushed his off of her body gently, holding them in hers while she smiled bitterly at him.
"This dreadful breakfast I have to attend with your family."
"I am sure it won't be too awful," Harry murmured, his eyebrows pulled tight over his brows. "I will be there with you."
She bit her tongue to stop the chuckle that tried to escape her lips, noticing that he was speaking genuinely and not sarcastically with his usual smirk. There were a couple of reasons for the way Reina was acting, one of them being that she was forced to attend this breakfast with her new family, instead of her actual family, when they were going to leave right after breakfast. She was probably not going to see them for quite a long time. Vardomos is a day's journey from Siremeth, her family could not come visit her often and neither could she them. She wanted to spend some time with them before they leave but she couldn't.
"I would much rather be with my own family before they leave to Vardomos right after breakfast," she told him truthfully, making him bite his lower lip.
She knew the King and Queen would be highly offended if she didn't attend it since it was her first breakfast with her new family, and all that. She didn't give a shit, and she would have gladly ditched it and have breakfast with her own family. But she was supposed to be on good behavior, according to Reyes and Genevieve, since they were still making amends with House Styles.
Reina let go of Harry's hands, walking away from him to locate her shoes. Once she had them on, she proceeded to the door. Harry quickly caught up to her, calling her name out and making her turn around.
"Go have breakfast with your family," Harry told her, making her brows slope downwards immediately.
"But I can't-"
"You can," Harry said to her firmly. "I will explain your absence to my parents."
His words brought a smile to Reina's face, a beautiful genuine smile, compared to all the sultry and sarcastic smirks she always gives him. It made him happy that he was the cause of it.
"Thank you, Harry," she smiled at him, touching his cheek tenderly as she spoke before turning to exit the bedchamber.
Harry watched her go like a lovesick puppy, dazed by the sight of her smile and the feeling of her touch on his face. He shook himself out of the daze he was in, and walked out the bedchamber but in the opposite direction Reina went in. He headed to the gardens where breakfast with his family was scheduled to be, thinking up some sort of excuse to save Reina as his heavy boots thudded against the floor.
When he arrived, he found that his parents have already started eating without him. His other guard, Sebastian, announced his arrival as soon as he stepped in, but no one raised their head or even acknowledged his presence. He ignored it, knowing that it was typical of the family. He placed himself at the right side of the rectangular table, where there were two empty seats, one for him and one for Reina. He began helping himself to some fruit before his mother spoke up.
"Harold, where is the foreign princess?" she questioned, finally looking up as Harry started eating, without gazing at his mother.
"She is having breakfast with her family."
"And you let her when she was scheduled to have breakfast with us?" the King frowned in response, making Harry lift his gaze up to meet his father. Now, all eyes lay upon him.
"Of course. It was her choice."
"It has only been hours since your wedding and you've established no control over her, how tragic," Gemma, the princess, snickered quietly, making Harry glower at her.
"At least my spouse isn't running around chasing after whores as soon as your head hits the pillow at night. You might want to check the rose garden at midnight. I hear Maeson's throaty moans from outside my-"
"Harold, stop it you are upsetting your sister," the Queen snapped at Harry, while Gemma's face grew red with anger.
"Oh don't act so upset, Gemma. It is no surprise Maeson's fucking whores again. Perhaps it is because you fail to satisfy him-"
"That is enough, Harry," the King spoke sternly, glaring at Harry while he sat back with a smirk playing on his lips, munching on a grape.
"At least my spouse has pure blood, instead of the filthy, foreign blood that runs through the veins of your wife. It is truly tragic your children's blood will also be tainted with that filth," Gemma spat, making Harry narrow his eyes into slit, glaring at her viciously.
"At least we will have children unlike you and Maeson. How long has it been since the both of you have consummated? A year? Tell us, Gemma-"
"Enough with you! You are foul and cruel!" Gemma cried loudly, standing up all of a sudden with her face flushed with anger.
"I gave birth to two devils," the Queen muttered under her breath with a huff, while the King ordered Gemma to sit down and finish her breakfast.
The Styles family continued to eat their breakfast in silence, tension hanging over their heads like a heavy cloud. Once they were done, they were due to meet Reyes and his house outside the palace doors and bid them goodbye. Harry walked ahead of Sebastian and his family, hand running along the huge crimson door with a lion door handle as he stepped outside and stood at the head of the staircase. Down below, Reina was hugging Nira firmly, while the carriages were being prepared for departure and guards and bannermen were mounting horses.
"Is she embracing her handmaid?" Gemma spoke up beside Harry with a tone filled with disgust, a grimace etched on her face.
"That is her friend, Gemma. Something you do not have."
"I have many friends!" Gemma defended herself. "All noblewomen, unlike your foreign princess' handmaid."
"They are only friends with you because you are a royal and you are related to me," Harry said with a smirk. "Them befriending you is their greatest chance of getting to talk to me and possibly sucking my cock."
"You are revolting!" Gemma exclaimed, smacking his bicep before turning to stomp back into the castle in anger.
Harry chuckled heartily, loving that his sister got so easily ticked off with everything he said. He pulled his arms behind his back as he descended the stairs, stopping when he saw Reyes approaching him. Reyes began bidding Harry goodbye and giving him tips on how to keep Reina happy, while Reina on the other hand watched them with curiosity, along with Nira and Myles.
"He is probably telling Harry to keep an endless supply of honey cakes for you," Myles chuckled a little, making Reina roll her eyes at him. "What? It is enough to keep the dragon at bay!"
"I swear you could be as angry and aggressive as a dragon who has been starved for days, but as soon as you are presented with a slice of honey cake, you are as happy as can be!" Nira said with a teasing grin.
"Alright you two!" Reina scoffed at them playfully. Her gaze then fell upon Fredric who was stood behind her a few steps away. She sighed lightly, remembering that he was her personal bodyguard now, instead of Myles.
"You know, the Queen didn't exactly say anything about Myles being your bodyguard," Nira said with a murmur, making Reina face her and Myles again with a sad smile.
"I know, but I do not want to keep the two of you apart," Reina told them, making Nira's cheeks flush and for Myles to cough a little, looking away. "Yes, the dragon knows everything."
"The dragon is a stalker," Aella spoke up from behind them. "Leave the lovebirds alone, and come say goodbye to your grandmother."
Reina smiled at Nira and Myles, bidding them goodbye before walking over to her grandmother who was stood beside her own carriage, petting the horse near it. Aella smiled lightly at her granddaughter, leaving the horse to grasp her arm. Reina aided her grandmother into climbing up the steps to the carriage. Once they were inside, they sat down together, Aella holding her granddaughter's hands in hers.
"Now my love, listen to me closely," Aella started to say. "I have heard horrid things about the King and Queen's treatment towards foreigners. There is no doubt they dislike you, despite them agreeing to this marriage. You must ignore them and remain courteous at all costs. Kill them with kindness is what I would say."
"Oh Grandmother, that makes me feel so much better," Reina muttered sarcastically, making Aella reach forwards and pinch her cheek.
"That tongue of yours will get you in deep trouble, young lady," Aella snapped lightly, making Reina jerk back with a laugh. Aella smiled a little at the sight of her granddaughter laughing, touching her cheek. "You've always been so fiery, Reina."
"Like a dragon," Reina mused, making Aella nod in response.
"Never forget what you are Reina. You may now be the wife of Harry Styles, future Queen of Caunwaiton. But in your heart, you are Reina Rahraenos, the Dragon Princess of Vardomos. Unfortunately, the people of the rest of this realm know you as the foreign princess, as if that is a bad thing. But, my dear, it isn't. You never forget that. You wear that as your armor and no one will ever be able to use it against you, do you understand me?"
"I do, grandmother," Reina nodded, embedding her grandmother's words into her head.
"I love you, dearly, and I pray for your safety and happiness. I pray you will find happiness with this Harry bastard-"
"Oh grandmother, he's not a bastard," Reina chuckled softly, making Aella roll her eyes. "He is actually quite sweet, little cocky, but sweet. He treated me with care during the ceremony yesterday."
"Oh yes, darling we all heard," Aella spoke bluntly, making Reina cringe a bit. "Your moans told it all-"
"Alright, I understand," Reina shook her head, stopping her from going more into detail.
"He may be sweet and kind, but I am sure it is to get between your legs again," Aella warned her daughter.
"I told him he has to earn that," Reina told her.
"Oh did you? And what did he say in response?"
"Well he fussed a bit, but agreed to it," Reina said.
"He must be used to having everything handed to him on a silver platter," Aella scoffed lightly. "Love, don't be so easy on him. Don't be one of those daft bimbos who sit around all day sewing and obeying their husbands every command, sucking their cocks whenever they ask. Like Gemma."
"No! You speak up when you don't want to do something for him. You do not let him speak to you as if you are lower than him. In this marriage, the both of you are equals, and respect works both ways. If he ever disrespects you, abuses you, or forces himself on you: burn him," Aella said firmly with a nod, making Reina bite her lower lip to stop herself from laughing at little.
"Burn him? I don't have the dragons for that."
"Oh but you do, my love," Aella said with her bright green eyes glinting brightly. Reina frowned deeply.
"You mean the wedding gift? They've turned to stone," Reina said with her brows lowered, making Aella shake her head.
"You told me that when you held those eggs you felt warmth underneath the shells. That there is life. Just heat them over a fire, and you'll see their colors come to life. After that, you know what to do," Aella told her with a smile, touching her cheek.
Reina parted her lips to speak before somebody interrupted her, a figure entering the carriage. It was Reyes.
"Reina, it's time," Reyes told her, before stepping out of the carriage.
"I love you so much," Reina said, leaning forwards and embracing her grandmother firmly. "Please, take care and write to me when you can."
"Of course, my dear. I love you more than you know."
Reina stepped out of the carriage and said her goodbye to Genevieve who was stood nearby. After that, she walked up to Reyes before embracing him firmly with a sigh. Her eyes met Harry's who was stood on the steps a fair distance away, a cheeky smirk curling on his lips when she looked at him. She felt the urge to roll her eyes at him, but Reyes pulled away just then to speak to her.
"I spoke to him, told him to give you honey cakes and dragons to keep you happy," Reyes said with a playful grin, making her scoff loudly.
"Why does everyone think I am that easy to please?"
"Well you are easy to please generally. But to prove that one is worthy of your love–"
"Is very tough and Harry will struggle immensely," Reina said with a bit of sadistic smirk, making Reyes chuckle lightly.
"Let me know how that goes, through letters," Reyes told her, before he reached out to hug her again. "I must get going sister."
"Of course, take care, brother," she told him. "Please come visit some time soon. I doubt the King will allow me to leave palace grounds to visit you."
"He will once he begins to trust you. Earn it, Reina," Reyes told her strictly.
"Okay," she nodded. "Oh, promise me you will look after Vaera and her babies."
"Of course, I will," Reyes promised her.
They said their goodbyes, Reyes mounting his black stallion right after and trotting away while Reina moved away to give him space. She stood on the steps of the staircase that led to the palace, watching her family leave her with a heavy heart and a sad expression etched onto her face. Harry stepped down and stood beside her, feeling pity for Reina.
"Your family is truly delightful," Harry spoke up with a murmur as they watched the carriages disappear into town. "The most kind and honorable people I have ever met."
"Truly?" Reina questioned softly, looking at him when she noticed his tone held no sarcasm.
"Yes, despite the whole ordeal with the rebellion, and this arranged marriage. They are not bitter or resentful," Harry explained himself further. "They seem genuinely nice."
"We Rahraenos do not hold grudges Harry. Grudges are for the weak; forgiveness is what makes you strong. However, we cannot forgive for such a crime, but we never forget. We do not hold grudges, we just never forget."
"But how can one not be resentful after...such a crime?" Harry questioned in slight confusion.
"It is hard and takes a lot of practice. When the news came that my lord father had fallen, I was devastated and very resentful," Reina said softly, reminiscing to the time she found out. But she lost two people during that rebellion, not just her father.
"But father taught me to be kind and forgiving, obviously to a certain extent because there are unforgivable things in this world," Reina spoke as they turned to head back into the castle. "I am still trying to master the art of forgiving because sometimes I am far too petty to forgive easily."
"I am not surprised," Harry chuckled lightly, holding his hand out for her to take.
She slipped hers into his open one, using the other one to hold her dress up as they ascended the stone steps. Reina pulled her gaze up, bright eyes lingering around the huge lion door handles of the front doors of The Styles Palace. For a moment, she saw her old home, the gray stonewalls replacing the brick red ones, dragon detailing instead of lion and the colors black and gray in the place of crimson and gold. But then it all just faded away, the rounded crimson towers returned and replaced the square-shaped black ones of her own palace. The lion replaced the dragon.
This was her home now.

"Reina?"
Harry frowned at his wife who was seated on the floor next to a fire where on top was a large black, stone bowl. He approached her, his frown deepening when he spotted the dragon eggs sitting inside of them over jet-black rocks, embers peaking through the gaps created between them. Reina gazed at them silently, while Harry crouched down beside her, green eyes focused on her in curiosity.
"They are petrified. They won't hatch," Harry murmured with his eyebrows pulled low over his eyes.
"No, look, they are growing richer in color," Reina responded quickly, picking one of the eggs up.
"Reina, no!" Harry panicked as his eyes wide when his wife picked up the egg. He quickly grabbed it from her.
The extreme heat from the shells scorched the palms of his hands, causing him to hiss in pain, dropping the egg and pulling his hands back. His eyes ran over the charred skin of his palms, grimacing at the redness before he felt Reina's soft hands touch his. She held his hands tenderly in hers, holding them upwards to assess the damage done to his hands while Harry frowned deeply.
"Your hands," Harry murmured in slight confusion, eyes running over the insides of Reina's hands. "They are uninjured. How?"
"I am a Rahraenos. We do not burn easily, Harry."
∙♖∙
Harry sighed heavily as Reina carefully wrapped his hands with a clean cloth, after applying some aloe to his burns. She left to wash her hands right after. While she was gone, Harry's gaze landed on the dragon eggs, noticing that they have indeed grown rich in color. He never got a good look of them during the wedding, so now he took his time to study them slowly.
There were three. One was dark as the midnight sea, yet glowed with scarlet ripples and swirls. The other was a gorgeous, iridescent green, with polished bronze flecks that came and went depending on how you looked at it. The last one was a creamy white color, with a golden sheen to it.
"Beautiful, are they not?"
Reina's voice brought Harry out of his thoughts, making him gaze up at her. He nodded in response, a little speechless as he climbed off the bed slowly and sat down in front of the fire, gazing at them. Reina sighed lightly, clutching her blue dress in hands and adjusting it as she sat down next to him, cross-legged.
"I used to always want a dragon when I was little," Harry murmured quietly, keeping his bandaged palms facing upwards on his knees.
"Now you have three," Reina whispered with a smile. "Our three babies."
"Babies?" Harry looked at her with a slight smirk curving on his lips. "They are not truly our children."
"No, but in my family, we treat our dragons as if they are one of our own. We feed them, we care for them, we raise them as if they were our own babies."
"Hmm, I like that," Harry said with a murmur, looking at her with a light smile drawling on his pink lips. "Our babies."
"In all honesty, I would rather have dragon babies than human babies any day," Reina said with a light chuckle, gazing at the eggs with ghost of a smile on her pink lips.
Harry gazed at her from the side, dark green eyes travelling along the soft curve of her nose, watching the flames of the fire illuminate the high points of her face, and cast shadows in the sharp planes of them as well. He saw the flames flicker in her silvery, green eyes, giving him a glimpse of her inner dragon.
Her gaze flickered to meet his, watching his avert to her lips quickly before he began gazing at them, eyes full of desire. It had been a long day and all he wanted in that moment was the comfort of her soft lips against his. Without another thought, he leaned forwards slightly, lips brushing hers ever so slightly. But she quickly pressed her fingers over his lips, smirking at him playfully when he emitted a whine.
"And what do you think you're doing?"
"I am trying to kiss my wife, if you haven't noticed," Harry grumbled lightly, resting his forehead against hers with a pout on his lips. "Do not tell me I have to earn your kisses as well."
"Oh but you do, my Prince," she whispered lowly, hand reaching up to touch his cheek while he quietly swore under his breath at her uttering my Prince.
"I defended you when it came to explaining your absence today during the breakfast with my family," Harry said with his eyebrows raised. "I must deserve a kiss for that!"
"Okay, fair point," she said, before leaning in and pecking the corner of his lips before standing up. "I am going to get ready for bed."
Before he could even say anything, she was already on her feet, walking away to retrieve her nightdress from her silvery chest. Harry's pink lips formed a grumpy pout, but his fingers ran over the skin he felt her lips kiss near the corner of his mouth, feeling tingly. That night after the ceremony, all he dreamt was the feeling of her soft, sweet lips kissing his, her hot tongue dancing with his, the way her warm, wet walls were clasped around his pulsating cock as he fucked into her torturously slow. The dream left him hard, hot and bothered, wishing that the wretched ceremony never happened because now he was stuck with the insane feeling of longing for her kisses and body.
His gaze caught her walking back into the bedroom after changing in the bathroom, soft body adorning a pure white nightgown with long, flared sleeves. She sat down by her dressing table and began picking at her braids, unraveling them to allow her thick, dark hair run free. Harry sighed lightly, standing up and deciding to get ready for bed as well. He frowned deeply when he struggled to kick his boots off, frustrated that he had to use his injured hands to untie the laces.
Reina spotted Harry struggling through the mirror while she was brushing her hair out, hearing him hiss in pain when he tried to remove his boots. Reina set her brush down and stood up, walking over to him and pressing a hand against his chest to stop him. He pulled his gaze up to meet hers with a frown.
"Let me undress you," she told him, immediately making a smirk drawl on his heart-shaped lips.
"Wipe that smirk off your face or else I'll strip you naked and make you sleep out in the balcony."
Harry's smirk disappeared at her words, making her smile sarcastically at him before she grasped his arm and led him to the bed where she told him to sit down. She lowered herself onto her knees and began untying his boots. Harry bit his lip to hide his cocky smirk, before parting them to speak but he couldn't help it.
"I must say, seeing you on your knees between my legs is a rather pleasing sight, Princess."
Harry looked up from where she was crouched down, her eyes blazing. His smirk was still intact, perfect, pink, heart-shaped lips curled with his little dimple making an appearance on his left cheek, all while his eyes gazing at her, glimmering green.
"You should watch your dirty mouth, my Prince, especially when I am so dangerously close to your cock."
Harry's lips turned downwards when she smiled bitterly at him before continuing to yank his boot off his right foot, then moving onto his left. He wondered for a second, why she was so uptight, and then had a bunch of questions formulating in his mind.
"Reina?" he questioned quietly, making her hum in reply, not looking up. "Do you think I am only making efforts to earn and please you, just to bed you?"
"It was a thought that crossed my mind at some point, yes," Reina murmured quietly, taking a moment to ponder. "It is hard not to think that. After all, you are notorious for your...habits."
"Reina," Harry murmured with a slight pout. "Do you think I don't want to settle down with a woman for once?" His questions were all of curiosity and confusion, instead of accusatory like Reina expected.
"Because I do, and I want you to be that woman. I know it is hard to believe since we only met two days ago, but we are married now. I want to make an effort to make this marriage work. I want it to be more than just an alliance, I want it to be real, and raw."
"I want that too," she murmured with a light smile playing on her lips. "And does this mean you will give up your old ways to commit to this marriage?"
"Old ways? Such as, whoring?" Harry arched a brow at her, making her nod slightly. "Of course. I am a married man now. A loyal one."
"I am glad," she murmured with a smile as Harry stood up.
Harry smiled back at her, reach up to stroke her cheek with the tips of his fingers, which weren't burnt. Reina locked gazes with him as she helped him remove his jacket, setting it aside before her hands reached for his belt. But he stopped her by uttering her name softly, causing her to look up at him.
"I prefer sleeping without a shirt on," he spoke in his low, raspy voice.
The corners of Reina's lips ticked upwards in amusement, hands slipping under his shirt to touch his hot skin, teasing him and causing his smirk to fade away a little. But she quickly pulled her hands out, gripping the end of the shirt and pulling it over his head with his aid. Reina felt her thighs clench when his toned, torso was revealed to her.
She hadn't seen him shirtless before, the consummation ceremony happened with him fully clothed and he slept that night with his shirt on. At that moment, she couldn't help but run her eyes over the sharp planes of his chest, strong abs, and deep v-lines with a trail of hair in the middle leading to his package.
"I must say, my Prince," she murmured lowly, using his words while trailing her soft, warm hands up his firm chest.
She felt his warm, bronzed skin under the palms of her hands. Harry swallowed thickly, keeping his gaze locked with her intimidating one as he felt his skin set on fire under her touch. It baffled him how every nerve and cell in his body awoke to her tantalizing touch. Their bodies were inches away, Harry's lips near Reina's cheek as she whispered into his ear.
"You are incredibly tempting," she continued to whisper as she teased him by tracing the dip of his v-lines.
Her fingertips trailed lightly over his other nipples that were situated below his pecks. He shuddered lightly at her heated touch, keeping his arms by his side although they itched to reach out and grab her face, and kiss her hard. He could feel her warm breath against his ear, wanting it fanning against other places such as his lips or his cock.
"But alas," she said with a sigh, pulling her hands and body away. He almost whined at the loss of her touch. "It would be too easy to give in."
"You are one torturous woman," Harry almost growled at her.
But before he could try and touch her, Reina's hands came up between them and pushed him. His back hit the bed while her hands continued to undress him, undoing his belt and pulling his pants down his legs, leaving him in just his braies. The white linen that covered his crotch and ended at his thighs did a poor job in concealing his semi-hard length. The sight of it amused Reina as she walked away with his clothes in hand.
Harry grumbled under his breath as he huffed and climbed under the covers. He watched Reina blow out the other candles in the room with a pout on his lips, bulging arms folded over his firm chest. She walked up to their bed, climbing under the covers and settling into the large, comfortable bed. She noticed Harry's grumpy expression, chuckling inwardly at his childishness while she turned away from him to blow out the candle. Now the only light that remained was his candle, and he still hadn't blown it out.
Reina frowned, waiting for him to do it but he lay there with his eyes closed and arms now unraveled with one over his head and the other on his chest. Reina preferred sleeping in complete darkness so she grunted in frustration and decided to blow it out herself. Placing a hand beside Harry's body, she leaned over him and blew out the candle. As soon as she blew it out, Harry spoke up, startling her and causing her body move, chest dangerously close to Harry's face.
"Lean any closer, and those glorious breasts of yours that are so close to my face, will have me losing my self-control and taking you right now, hard and raw."
