White lion
"We're entering the patrulian zone," coran said as he was still cautious of the situation.
The castle ship went through a workman hole and entered a field with scraps of metal and pieces of something the Paladins behind coran couldn't quite see yet.
"What's that up ahead? An astroid belt?" Shiro asked.
"No... it's a grave yard," coran looked up ahead as there was remains of ships and cruisers even bigger than the castle.
"What caused them all to lose power?" Hunk asked as they passed by many ships.
"No one knows,"
"I think we just found out," Pidge said and they flew further as they saw some portal of energy ahead with a blinding white light. Some of them gasped in shock or maybe fear with the look in their eyes.
"Is that a super massive star?" Shiro asked confused.
"No... its a white hole," Lance walked forward next to coran looking at the readings.
"It's unbelievable," Pidge looked at her own data.
"Take that theoretical physics!" Hunk punched the air at the discovery.
"What's the difference with a white hole and black hole? Does it push out instead of sucking in like opposites?" Lance asked looking back at Pidge and Matt.
"Exactly, the white hole is an opposite body that shoots out massive amounts of energy from an unknown source," Matt explained to them.
"It's blasting this whole area with crazy high radiation," hunk added on nodding.
"The energy must've fried those ships systems," Shiro stared.
"Oh yea, you owe me a good ass date for this," lance crossed his arms, walking back at Lotor looking unamused.
"The wise stand back from the fire, fools are burned on the pyre, the mystic becomes one with the flame, the embers and he are the same," Lotor mumbled to himself putting a finger under his nose as he thought quickly to himself.
"Is that like a song your working on? Cause it sucks," lance narrowed his eyes at his boyfriend with his arms still crossed.
"It's a poem by an ancient altean alchemist, I discovered it carved next to a cave painting of a fiery sphere, I never realized until now that it describes the route to Oriande," Lotor explained as he offered a gentle look to lance.
"We must go into the white hole," he said as Lance glared.
"You are so pushing your luck,"
"We're navigating by cave poetry now?" Hunk raised his hand as Lotor looked back at him and Allura.
"How are we suppose to get through the white hole? If we get closer we're going to end up like those dead ships there," Pidge stopped them quickly.
Allura made eye contact with Lotor as she put on a determined face while he looked away. She thought for a moment as Lotor didn't notice her staring as he was grabbing lances hand gently but Allura looked back not noticing the couple.
"We worm hole in," she stated.
"Princess no," coran cried out as everyone looked at her like she was crazy.
"Voltron can withstand forces other ships cannot," Allura nodded.
"Are you sure?" Shiro stood up.
"If this is the home of altean alchemy then Voltron will make it through," she stood tall believing what she was saying.
"And what if it's just another nuclear explosion in space? Then we're fucked," Lance asked as Lotor felt his hand squeezed his own.
"Princess I think you've taken this quest far enough, Lotor is sending you to your doom," coran agreed.
"Quite the opposite, it is a mission of life discovery," Lotor defended.
"Zip it mister," lance sent him a look.
"Love you have to trust me on this," Lotor pulled him closer.
"I trust you, I just don't trust finding out white holes now exist and hip hip hooray we get to go through one within the five minutes we find out they're real," Lance huffed pouting.
"And after last night I don't think it's a good idea for you to be doing this kind of quest that you know what," he said quieter but Allura heard.
"What happened last night?" She asked concerned.
"Nothing concerning," Lotor assured.
"Well I'm concerning," Lance cried out.
"Believe me, I would never ask any of you to do this if I didn't know- if I didn't feel in my heart that it is true, I belong here," Allura sighed looking at them all confident.
"All I ask is your trust lance," Lotor held his hands tightly as he looked down at him. Lance gulped softly as he felt his chest tighten. Damn this man, for making him still feel the way he did when they first fell in love. When it was just a crush still.
"Okay... I'll trust you on this, but if it gets to much we are out of here immediately, we don't need to push on things yet," lance nodded and felt Lotor kiss his forehead softly and longingly.
"I will, thank you my love," Lotor whispered against his hair and lance smiled at him.
"This is as far as we can go, despite those two may be going further in their own world over there," Pidge cut in as Lotor pulled away from lance but they both smiled with soft blush as their hands where still intertwined behind them.
"Any further and we will be affected by the patrulian zones radiation," she explained.
"Rock paper scissors?" Matt asked lance.
They went for who ever won first got the lion.
Lance groaned as he won first.
"I'll be right back," he mumbled walking to the lions hangar as Lotor smiled at him with a low chuckle. They waited a few moments for five lions to fly out and formed Voltron in front of the castle.
"Alright coran, open up a worm hole," Shiro said through the screen.
"Well, let's fly into the cosmic death storm," Lance sighed to himself.
They opened a wormhole and flew into the white hole but as they entered, immediately something was trying to push them back, making it difficult to move.
"We're being blasted back! Full power to thrusters," Shiro commanded and Allura and hunk complied with their lions to follow. It pushed Voltron forward through the white energy.
"We're making progress," Allura grunted. They headed straight to the white light source in the center but suddenly they saw something bigger than anything they've seen emerge from the light.
"Is that... a lion?" Lance gasped.
The white lion blasted at Voltron with a roar, sending them all back as everyone grunted trying to be stable again.
"Why is attacking us?" Allura asked confused.
"Fire lasers!" Shiro said loudly.
The green lion shot first but as it hit the white lion it seemed to swallow the laser as it did no damage, and used the attack back at Voltron. Missing them barely. It continued to attack
——
Lotor, coran and Matt listen to the screams and battle cried from the other side of the line as Matt was worried for his sister, coran was fearful for Allura as Lotor regretted it all if he lost lance.
"What have you done?" Coran asked bewildered. "Wait, what's happening to your face?"
Lotor looked at him just as confused as he touched his cheekbone softly and saw slight glowing.
"Altean markings?" Matt raised an eye brow.
"What? My markings?" Lotor asked confused.
"Yea they're glowing," coran nodded.
".. the mark of the chosen... you have to get out of there! Now!" Lotor barker as he realized his mistake.
"That thing is a guardian! It will only allow worthy alteans through!" He told them quickly.
"Pull back!"
