"Their base should fall momentarily," one of the galra stated as Sendak's ship made its way to the garrison base.

Lance laid at Sendak's feet behind him as he was forcing his eyes to stay open, his arm was broken but that seemed to be the worst injury so far besides being electrocuted multiple times.

"Sir something appears to be launching!"

"Destroy it before its airborne," Sendak glared. Lance closed his eyes trying to call for red, forcing his energy to focus on getting his lion up again.

"Crew prepare for launch!" Shiro commanded as the base opened up for the atlas to fly.

There was fighters trying to attack the atlas but the mfe pilots held them off and the atlas joined the battle. Rising to face the galra as the four pilots kept the path clear for the exposure.

"Welcome to the battle field IGF atlas, clearing a path for you now," Griffin saw the ship flying and smiled at the success.

"MFE's let's try these pulse projectiles we've been hanging on to," he told his team now that they had a chance to win.

They paired up using their own weapons that hit the sides of the galra cruisers and actually doing damage to them. They were to fast for the cruisers to defend against the blast and each were hit.

"Sir we've been hit with multiple electromagnetic pulses, we've lost all power," the galra looked back at Sendak as lance had a smile on his face keeping his eyes closed.

"Commander the fleet is unresponsive and the enemies vessel has gained tactical advantage," he said a little worried but Sendak looked angered. "What are you orders?"

"Bring us around, charge the ion canons," Sendak spat looking down at lance.

"Go atlas go," lance smiled up at Sendak and as expected he was kicked Across the face and his helmet was knocked off.

Suddenly they ship rocked and shook aggressively when the atlas sent a powerful blast straight at Sendak's ship. Lance sat up with a smirk watching the ship in the distance.

"It's bigger than I thought," lance hummed impressed seeing it was bigger than Sendak's ship.

"Jaxar fleet, stay midrange, bombard with covering fire!" Sendak snapped with a glare. "Battle command rall keep them pinned in,"

Lance stayed put as he watched Sendak command orders but he felt a pull, some energy that felt familiar. The Paladins, the lions, it had to be them. If he could get red to come to earth he might be able to get red to attack and break him out. It's almost like someone told him the plan in his head. It was definitely the Paladins.

He closed his eyes and focused on connecting to his lion. Lotor said the lions held intelligence.

And there she was.

"Commander, there's something happening with the lions,"

Lance grinned.

"Where are the Paladins?" Sendak glared not understanding. He looked and saw lance was still there. He didn't like the smile on his face.

"They're still in their holding cells," the galra told him.

"This is their doing, take them out," Sendak growled.

There was a large crash below the ship and the lions made their escape without a pilot inside. They were fighting like if someone was in the seats but they helped the atlas first as they needed time and the right moment for getting the Paladins.

Lance gasped when he was hauled to his feet, the galra before forced lance to stand and held his arm tightly.

"Is he coming with us sir?" He asked looking at Sendak.

"Let him be the last one killed, I want the dead prince to see his lovers death," Sendak told them and lance glared back as he was dragged out.

They walked down the halls with a green hue to the cells, lance looked back a few times seeing how many sentries were with them. Two. Lance had to think quickly seeing the cells of his team were coming close.

There was a tight squeeze on his broken arm that made him cry out in pain.

"Hey let me out of here!" Admiral sanda saw them pass her cell.

"The earths ship, I know it has a weakness!" She called out and lance looked back surprised. Why was she on the ship?

"What did you say?" The galra looked back at her cell darkly.

"I helped build that ship, if you were to take me to Sendak I could tell him where to attack," sanda explained peaking out. Her eyes widen a little seeing lances glare. He almost didn't look like the Paladin before, something in his eyes.

Lance used the opportunity to slam his head back into the galras throat and growled clasping his hands together to strike him in the face with all his strength. The galra yelled in pain as lance brought his knee up and snapped the restrains on his wrist like he's been shown how to do.

"Get him!" He yelled but lance gasped when the sentries ran at him, lance immediately grabbed his bayard and shot them both down. Thank god they were working again. Lance turned the blaster to stun and shot the galra down without hesitation.

He panted putting the bayard back in his armor and held his broken arm in pain, he panted trying to rip the sentries arm off to open the admirals cell.

"Do you really know how to take down the atlas?" Lance asked with a glare as she faced him.

"Or was it just an excuse to have him let you out?" He smirked a little knowing when someone was lying.

"Thank you, how did you get out of the cell?" Sanda grabbed the sentries gun.

"I wasn't in a cell? Sendak had me up by him, I guess he's still mad about the kral zera," lance shrugged.

"You were Lotors general... working with the galra," she understood, looking at his arm.

"I know the consequences," lance nodded a little.

Sanda saw the galra awaken and holding his gun aimed at lance from behind, she immediately grabbed the Paladin and shoved him to the side as a blast hit her chest. Lance watched horrified when her body dropped. Lance looked back wide eyes when the galra was about to shoot at him, he didn't break eye contact with the soldier as he dared him to shoot.

But the black lion crashed through where the galra laid both were gone.

"Lance..." sanda whimpered as he knelt down and held her as the other Paladins were free when the systems were down, they saw lance and sanda.

"Do what I couldn't.. save earth," she whispered to him as she held her chest where she was shot.

"We will," lance was smart enough to know she wouldn't see the end of this war in her life time.

She took her last breath in his arms.

Lance felt a hand on his shoulder and looked up seeing Keith.

"You guys are safe?" Lance asked.

"We won't be if we stay on this ship, the lions and atlas are tearing it apart," Keith told him gently and lance nodded.

"Let's go," lance gently laid sanda on the ground and took her hat and badges knowing they couldn't take her body. They at least could bring something back to remember her by.

"As soon as we're in our lions we form voltron," Keith told the others as they were out of their cell.
