xii. Fatum Est

"I'm getting tired of just waking up and poofing into different places." Lucy groaned, standing up and then offering her hand to Gray, who took her hand and pulled himself up.

"Yeah, me too. So, how do we find Fatum Est?" Gray asked and Lucy looked around before she answered. "Look, we're in the same forest from before." She pointed out, and after Gray looked around as well, he saw that she was right. Before either could say another word, the ground began to shake.

"That must be Uriel!" Lucy managed to yell out before a large crack in the ground separated her and Gray.

"Who's that!?" Gray yelled back, wanting to know something about his enemy before they had to fight.

"Uriel is an archangel, the keeper of prophecy's, he fights with the element of earth! He's the angel of nature, visions, and instruction!" Lucy yelled. She saw Gray's eyes widen, and before she could turn around, hands were gripping tightly around her neck.

"U-Uriel." Lucy coughed out. She could feel his smirk against the back of her head.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. Such a shame, you're a very smart girl, Lucy Heartphilia." Uriel spoke before closing her eyes and she collapsed to the floor.

"Lucy! You bastard!" Gray yelled in anger and worry, the black markings going up his arm and face.

"Oh, if you think I'm bad, you haven't met Michael. He's all about justice, protection, and strength. Just a show off if you ask me." Uriel said with the rolling of his eyes.

"Ice Devil's Zeroth Destruction Bow!" Gray yelled, an intricate bow appearing in his hands as he fired multiple arrows at Uriel, each turning into spikey arrays of ice. Uriel held up his middle and pointer finger, simply moving them upwards and a giant rock wall appeared from the ground and protected him from the arrows. Snapping his fingers, the brick wall was gone, as well as the bow Gray had created.

"Ice Devil's Zeroth Long Sword!" Gray yelled, full of anger, and now, a bit of fear. Uriel hadn't moved from his position, all he had done to stop his attack was move two of his fingers. Running at Uriel, he prepared to slash into at least one part of his body, just enough so that his body would freeze over. Yet again, Uriel snapped his fingers and the sword cracked into millions of shards of ice that flew away beautifully, but Gray was too busy wanting to kill Uriel to notice that.

"Look, Gray Fullbuster, I have no intentions of hurting you-" Uriel was cut off by punch in the jaw, even though all it did was make his head turn slightly sideways, and hurt Gray's knuckles.

"But you hurt Lucy!" Gray yelled, and before he could attack Uriel moved two fingers upwards and he was engulfed in rock from the neck down. "Let me finish you ungrateful fly. I do not wish to hurt you, and I did not hurt Lucy Heartphilia either, she's too important to Gabriel for me to hurt her. Michael, though a huge thorn in my ass, finds you important as well." Uriel finished.

"Lucy said you're the keeper of prophecy's right? So what does that have to do with Lucy and I aside the whole Heaven and Hell ordeal?" Gray questioned.

"Natsu Dragneel represents Hell, Gray Fullbuster, you, represents Heaven. Lucy Hearphilia, well, no one really knows. She's just as important though, we just do not know the reason, and I of all people would know. Gabriel may know, he's the patron of messengers." Uriel answered.

"Heh, what you failed to mention was that to get to them, we have to defeat you." Lucy mumbled, the golden sigils forming on her left arm and up to the left side of her face. Then, for the first time, her left eye had a symbol engraved in it, gold like the rest of them. The sigil of the archangel Gabriel. While Uriel had been speaking to Gray, she had cut her arm and began painting a sigil on the ground by using her hand as a brush and her blood as the paint.

Uriel turned around. "Wait, don't you-" Uriel vanished when Lucy placed her bloody palm on the sigil. The large crack in the ground went away, causing both Lucy and Gray to shake a bit as the ground repaired itself, though the rocks around Gray remained.

Lucy pushed herself up from the ground, slightly dizzy from the amount of blood it took just to make one sigil, and went into her Taurus Star Dress. "This may hurt a bit." Curling her fingers into a fist and using the immense strength she gets from Taurus' Star Dress, she punched the rock formation around Gray and it crumbled into a million pieces.

"Thanks." Gray said as he quickly grabbed Lucy before she fell to the ground. "He won't be gone for long, it just vanishes him somewhere far away from us, but he'll be back." Lucy said, and Gray picked her up bridal style.

"You lost a lot of blood doing that." After walking for a bit, he laid her down on a tree that had fallen over and took off his shirt, tearing it up, and wrapped it around Lucy's cut arm. "I think Fairy Law is still taking it's toll on me, but I think you're okay." Lucy spoke, her voice a bit strained, and Gray nodded. After lifting her up again, Gray began to walk in search of a safe place for them to plan.

Day three of the Grand Magic Games had gone well, though Fairy Tail was in first place, Lamia Scale in second, and Fairy Tail B in third. However, Lamia Scale was in worry since they hadn't heard anything from Gray and Lucy.

"That's it, send me where they are!" Natsu yelled, the guild at their own bar in Crocus.

"Natsu, we need you here in case some of the Fairy Tail members come back to their senses." Jura spoke, but that didn't help Natsu's fury and worry. His arms were engulfed in flames and Happy was trying to calm him down as well.

"Natsu, Gray is a brother to me, and Lucy a sister. I understand that you're worried, but they're strong and they can take care of themselves. If they need our help, they'll use the Miniature Communication Lacrima and all will be okay." Lyon said calmly, trying to reassure Natsu. Natsu remembered all the fights he'd seen Lucy and Gray in, and just how strong they really were, so he calmed down and Happy sat on his shoulder.

"We can try and call them with the Miniature Communication Lacrima if that would put you all at ease." Sherry offered with a smile. Everyone looked at each other and nodded in agreement. Natsu held the Lacrima and everyone stood beside him or behind him.

"Lucy, Gray?" Lyon questioned, and a small screen shot up from the Lacrima and practically the entire guild gulped. They saw a bloody Lucy and a worn out Gray, who had some of Lucy's blood on him from her arm resting on his chest. Then they heard screaming.
