"Jin Hyung!"

"What is your problem Jungkook-"

"Do you have the keys?"

Jin stopped washing the dishes for a moment. "What keys?"

"Keys!" Jungkook pressurized on the word more.

"How am I going to know if you don't tell me Kook?" Jin deadpanned.

"Basement keys." He corrected himself.

"No I don't have 'em." Jin went back to what he was doing leaving Jungkook dumbfounded.

"I-"

"Back off kid I need to work." Jin leaded Jungkook out of the kitchen by indirectly pushing him with his butt while scrubbing a plate.

Jungkook frowned and stomped away to Jimin's room.

"Hey Chim!"

"What is it?" He asked lazily.

"Do you have key- err, basement keys?"

"No."

Jungkook's expression turned from a hopeful smile to a scowl.

"What?!"

"You heard me." Jimin pretended to read a newspaper but was terribly failing in it.

"Hyung your newspaper is upside down."

Jimin cleared his throat awkwardly before turning it upside down. "It's a new way of reading you know but this is much better-"

"Hyung where are the keys?"

"I don't know."

Sighing, Jungkook entered his room and started rummaging around the stuff, also cleaning in the process. Jimin didn't mind at all seeing that he didn't have to clean up his room.

Jimin still peeked a little from time to time but nothing too obvious. He straightened his newspaper out a few times but he actually didn't read any of the stuff on there.

"Then what are these?" A bunch of of keys jingled in front of his face, separating his face from the printed paper.

"Keys?"

"Hyung I'm not that dumb these are obviously the basement keys." Jungkook said.

"Basement keys? I found them in the store room!" Jimin's eyes widened and looked at Jungkook in disbelief.

"So you're saying that if we never opened the store room, we would have never accessed the basement?"

"Well yeah-"

"Anyway thanks!" Jungkook chirped and dashed out of the room leaving the door ajar.

"Basement is the unfinished part of any building, you shouldn't go there Kook." Jimin muttered to himself before switching on his phone and ditching the newspaper in the dustbin.

But he was unaware of that one article published on it. That one article that could possibly changed their lives.

he basement lights turned on and came in Jungkook hurriedly walking down the stairs.

"Did it hurt?" He asked when he reached the bottom of the stairs and staring at a ghost laying flat on her back with a grave expression. Limbs spread out like a starfish.

"No?"

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"It didn't hurt." She slowly got up and walked towards him but crossed through him in a jiffy and walked upstairs.

"Am I not here?" Jungkook questioned himself.

Jungkook still got the upset tone of her voice when she went up. But he didn't get why she would be sad.

Ignoring it, he was about to turn off the lights and go upstairs when his eyes caught a piece of paper.

What is that?

Looking around for some bystanders, he marched towards the piece of paper that was loosely tucked in a wooden box. The paper was half inside and half out.

He just casually slid it out and the paper came out in his hands.

It was a picture of a pair of legs cut from the torso. The paper was supposedly torn from the upper part and somehow the he found the lower part.

There were letters on it but most of them were faded. But he could still make out some faint words.

-and it caught a crooked mouse.

And they all live together in a little crooked house.

Honestly, he got chills just by looking at the poem. This poem was half missing but any person would be able to identify it.

All of the horror was mainly associated with this thing and it didn't help him.

Was this why she was upset?

No he's probably thinking too much.

Jungkook kept the paper where it was before and slowly walked out of the basement. Running up the stairs after he switched off the lights cause he doesn't want the demons to catch him.

He hurriedly locked the door and made a mental note to never open that damn door again. Dropping the keys on his way back into Jimin's room, he went on an expedition to find that ghost.

"Where the fuck is she?"

"I'm here!" Jungkook jumped at the sound. He slowly turned around to see a floating thing with long hair covering the face. The hands loosely hanging off the body. The dress tattered and dirty at places. Like a typical ghost.

"What the-"

"Kidding!"

The thing jumped on the floor and removed the hair out of the way. Jungkook's heart started to beat again when he saw the familiar face grinning at him.

"I almost died!"

"Then it great! You can join me in the afterlife!" She excitedly fist bumped in the air.

Can't believe she was the person who was sad minutes ago.

"Why would I-"

"Yolo!" Jungkook fell down clutching his heart. Eyes widening he stared at the male who decided it would be good to suprise a not-expecting human who was weak at heart.

"Is this a brother-sister thing to scare people?" He asked, his voice high-pitched because of the sudden jumpscare.

"Well yes cause' we are ghosts and that's our job." Both of them answered monotonously.

"Exclude me in that!"

Jungkook struggled to stand on his feet and ran to his room and closed the door shut. He tried to calm his heart down which was racing like a horse.

But he forgot that they're ghosts.

One head piped in on his left side. "Hi there!"

Another head popped to his right, "Hi again."

And then Jungkook realised that he's stuck in this immortal shit for life.
