Kabir's P.O.V.

I was sitting alone on the terrace watching the dark starry sky enjoying my solitude. This was calming. I drank my beer and sighed. Today was a very tiring day. The terrace was decorated with lights just like the whole hotel. Aashi went straight to her room and all of my friends went to meet her. I didn't go. I came to the terrace. She must have noticed my absence for sure. But wasn't she the one who asked me not to meet her? She rejected me but accepted Gautam's proposal.

She should not have accepted the rose, I thought.

Why is it affecting you?, My mind questioned.

It might give the wrong hint to Gautam, I replied back.

I smiled while looking at these twinkling stars. For rest of my life, Aashi's theory of moon and stars is gonna stuck inside my head. As long as there are stars in the sky, she'll be in my mind.

"She's wrong. Without stars, the moon will be all alone in the sky", I said to myself looking at the bright round moon glowing in all its glory.

"Or maybe, I'm right. Maybe it's the moon who comes up in the sky so that stars doesn't feel lonely", a voice startled me and I looked down to the owner of the voice. There she was standing smiling at me.

I stood up from my seat. Aashi walked to me with a smile on her face. Her hair were open and they're flowing gently with the wind. The black rimmed glass over her nose and her loose, baggy, out of fashion clothes were defining her personality. She looked same like she used to then what's this change in my heartbeat?

Why am I feeling happy to see her?

"Hey", she said as soon as she came and stand in front of me. Why her smile is beautiful today?

"Hey", I replied and gulped down the beer from the cane. Damn, why my body temperature is high? I felt as if my cheeks are heated up. The beer is totally getting inside my senses.

"Everyone came to welcome me. You didn't show up", she said.

"I was busy", I lied.

"I can see that", she replied looking at my beer bottle. She walked and sat on the swing and looked up. I walked and sat next to her.

"The sky is pretty", she said looking up.

"What bring you here?", I asked.

"I was dying to get some peace. The crowd down there, not my cup of tea", she said pointing her finger to the ground.

"I should go now", I said getting up.

"Why? Don't you want to sit with me?", She asked.

"Weren't you the one who asked me not to hang out with you?", I narrowed my eyes and I saw realisation flashed over her face.

"I'm sorry if you feel bad. I just thought my presence will make things awkward between us. After that breakup thing, I don't know how to react", she said and I nodded.

"Me neither", I said looking up in the sky. She sighed.

"Are you enjoying here?", She asked looking at me.

"Yes", I replied looking at her.

"Ok", she replied and a silence regained between us.

"Why did you accept the rose? It was a dare, did you know that?", I asked.

"It was a token of friendship", she said.

"Red rose is for love", I reasoned out.

She sighed and said, "Colour of rose doesn't matter. Feelings of the person who give them to you matters. Gautam gave me a red rose but his feelings were friendly".

"You really have so much different kind of perspective of looking at things? You think out of box always", I replied and she smiled.

"Remember I also gave you a white and yellow rose", she asked and I nodded.

She wanted to be my girlfriend, my heart whispered!!

"Do you use the diary I gifted you?", I asked curiously.

"I didn't get the time to use them. I'm planning to start using them", she said looking at the sky.

"Ok", I replied.

"See that star over there. It's shining way too much", Aashi said pointing to a star. Her smile was bright.

"Yeah. It is", I said looking at her.

Just like your smile, my heart whispered!!

"Kabir", a new voice greeted my ears. I looked at the entrance of the terrace and so does Aashi.

"I was looking for you everywhere", Naina walked inside. She walked towards us and I got up from my seat along with Aashi.

"Why? What happened?", I asked as she came and stood in front of me. Her eyes landed on Aashi. I couldn't help but compare these two.

Naina is a totally opposite personality. She is beautiful, gorgeous, tall, has an amazing figure and don't get me start on her beautiful face to die for. Aashi looked so dull in front of her. It's like Naina fazed Aashi's presence.

"Why? Can I not look out for my friend? What are you doing here?", Naina asked. Her eyes landed on Aashi and a smile made over Naina's lips.

"I was sitting with my friend, Aashi", I said. I looked at Aashi and said, "Spooky, she's Naina". I looked at Naina and said, "She's Aashi".

"Hey Aashi", Naina forwarded her hands.

"Hey Naina", Aashi said. She added, "You're beautiful".

"Aww thank you", Naina said taking the compliment and then she came and held my arm by her hand.

"Let's go. I will introduce you to my friends", Naina suggested. I looked at Aashi. She smiled at me and then walked back and sat on the swing. She doesn't speak a word.

"You go first. I'll come in a minute", I said and Naina pouted.

"Come fast or I'll drag you from here", Naina said and after nodding at Aashi, she left.

"Would you like to join us?", I asked turning my attention to her.

"No. I'm fine. Thanks", she replied and I nodded.

"Bye then", I said picking up my beer bottle.

"Sure", she said with a smile and then plugged earphones in her ear. I took it as a cue and left the terrace with a heavy heart. I turned once to look at Aashi. She was swinging with eyes closed.

I walked downstairs but just after descending five stairs, Gautam came in my view. He had coffee mugs in his hand. I raised my eyebrows at him.

"Hey, Kabir. Is Aashi up?", He asked.

"Yes. Why?", I asked.

"I brought coffee for both of us. Thanks by the way", he said and walked upstairs for the terrace. I walked downstairs.

First rose and now coffee. Why is he taking so much interest in Aashi?

Aashi's P.O.V.

A tap over my shoulder made me open my eyes. My heart had this false hope of seeing Kabir again but it disappeared when I saw Gautam standing in front of me.

"I bought coffee for us", he said and my eyes landed on two cups placed on a stool in front of me.

"Thanks. You don't need to", I replied as he sat by my side.

"Let's say. I want to be your friend", he said and I smiled. He passed the cup to me and I took it happily.

"We're friends. You've already given me a rose", I said and he smiled.

"I'm happy that my cousin forced me to do that dare", he said.

"You've found me", I said and he smiled. Gautam is a handsome boy. A boy way out of my league but he's a gentleman. He helped me carry my luggage and he's so soft-spoken. He even brings coffee for me. He's too good to be true.

"I was looking for you but Nia told me you're upstairs. So, here I'm", he said.

"Coffee is good", I said.

"And what about the company?", He asked and I blushed.

"He's amazing", I replied and Gautam laughed.

Gautam and I talked for the next twenty minutes as we sipped our coffee. He's a great listener and an amazing talker. He keeps the flow of conversation so smoothly that I didn't realise when my coffee finished. I kept holding the empty cup because it's still warming my cold palms.

"Do you want to join your group downstairs?", Gautam asked.

"I guess I'll sleep for now. I'm tired", I said.

"Let's go then", he said and I nodded.

Gautam and I walked downstairs and reached the main hall. On one corner of the big hall, all the younger ones were huddled. I walked to them. They all were playing dumb charades. Noor was mimicking a movie but no one was able to guess it. I noticed her moves slowly.

She was doing a signature dance step. She was trying hard but because we grew up together, I can understand her each and every expression easily. I found myself talking unintentionally.

"Phantom", I found myself talking. She was trying to copy Afgan Jalebi song but she's not a dancer. Perks of being her sister.

"Yes. You're so intelligent", Noor grinned and ran to me. She patted my shoulder and blew a kiss to me.

"You impressed me", Gautam who was standing by my side said with an impressed look. I blushed.

Why is such a handsome boy praising me?, My heart whispered.

"Aashi, join us", Dhruv said. He was sitting with rest of the group on one couch. Kabir was sitting with Naina and her group on other side.

"No. You enjoy. I'm sleepy", I replied.

"Ok. Good night", Nia said and I nodded.

"Night everyone", I replied. I gave a look to Kabir but he was busy talking to Naina. I sighed.

"Let me walk you to your room", Gautam said.

"I'll go by myself. You don't have to", I said but he kept his hands over my shoulder and turned me around.

"Drop the formalities", he said and started pushing me forward.

"Ok", I replied not knowing what to say. Gautam is being so friendly and me being a socially awkward person, finding it hard to adjust.

We walked until my room and thank God that none of my family members saw me walking with him till my room because then rumours will spread like a fire. I don't want people's orthodox thinking to point out me and my upbringing.

"Good night", I said turning towards Gautam.

"Good night. I'll see you tomorrow", he said.

"Sure", I said and walked inside my room.

I closed the door and lay down on my bed. I share my room with Nia and Noor. Ami is sharing the room with some other girls but we'll for sure adjust her with us in our room. We all have joined our three beds together and now we all four girls can sleep on this combined big bed.

The entry at the hotel was pretty dramatic for me. My dad came late home so I decided to leave with him instead of Avinash and Priyanka. I was startled to see Gautam sitting on his knees with a hand in his rose.

"Hey, beautiful. Will, you be my girlfriend?", He asked and my cheeks went deep red. I looked around myself. Thankfully my parents were not there.

"I'm sorry. What are you doing?", I asked keeping my bag on the ground.

"Proposing you. Accept it, please", he said but I shook my head in NO. He was making me nervous. I adjusted my spectacles.

Gautam bowed down his head and again forwarded the rose towards me. He said, "Accept it as a token of friendship. I'm from groom's side and we've to make one person from bride's side as our friend". His words made sense to me so I agreed.

"Ok", I accepted the rose and he smiled.

"Let me carry your luggage for you", he picked up my bag. I agreed. Who says no to a handsome face?

At least not me!!

I am happy that I gained a friend like Gautam at this wedding. He's taking interest in me, he respects me and he doesn't bully me like Kabir all the time. Kabir didn't come to see me in my room and it disappointed me. But after he confessed that I was the one who asked him not to show up, I realised I did this only because Nia forced me to do so.

I wish this wedding end on a happy note!!

Kabir's P.O.V.

I excused myself and walked to Gautam who was coming after biding Bye to Aashi. Why is he making so many efforts for her? What's inside his mind?

"Hey", I caught him before he could reach to our group.

"Hey, Kabir", he asked.

"So? What's going on between you and Spooky?", I asked.

What's your deal, huh? , I wanted to ask.

"Spooky?", He chuckled.

"Yeah. I call her by that name", I replied

Is there any problem?, My heart whispered.

"Nothing is going on between us. She's a nice girl. I want to be her friend", he replied.

What does he think? I'm not a kid. Wrong answer!!

"Really? Only a friend? That's it", I asked crossing my arms across my chest.

"Are you two good friends?", He asked.

Hell, No!!

"Yes. Best friends", I lied.

"To be honest, I like her at the first sight only. Is she dating someone?", He asked.

What's there to like her in the first sight?, I thought.

"Aashi doesn't do dates", I replied.

"But we can try", another voice came from behind. Nia came and stand by my side with a grin over her face.

"Do you like her?", Nia asked.

"I guess I do", Gautam said scratching the back of his head. I rolled my eyes.

"Aww you're so cute", Nia said.

What's cute in him?, I thought.

"We can help ya", Jay said.

"Why?", I asked glaring at Jay.

"Because we're her friends. We must help our friend to find a right partner", Nia replied glaring at me.

"Better ask your friend if she's even ready to date", I said. Dhruv, Ami and Noor too came and stood by us.

"Are you jealous?", Ami asked.

"What?", I scoffed. "Why will I be jealous?", I asked.

"Because you're his ex-boyfriend", Dhruv said.

"Really! You guys were dating?", Gautam chimed in.

Ok. There are a hell lot of people to deal with. I'm getting annoyed now.

"We broke up Gautam. We tried but nothing happened between us, so we just separate our ways", I said looking at him.

"And now I want Aashi to settle with someone new. She is hopelessly romantic", Nia said.

"I am not sure about relationships and all but I want to know her for sure. She's like a book I want to read", Gautam said.

Why don't you read an encyclopaedia? It's informative and you will learn something!!

"Why am I stuck with all cheesy people?", I muttered.

"You should start impressing her from tomorrow", Nia said.

"But I don't know about her likes or dislikes", Gautam said.

"Me neither. I've known Aashi for a few months only. I don't know everything about her too", Nia said tapping her chin.

"I'll help you", Noor said for the first time and I look at her in disbelief.

You didn't help me when I was dating her. What's with you now?, I thought!!

"Thanks a lot. I'm so happy that you guys came out to help me", Gautam said.

Don't Thank me. I'm out of this stupid cupid game, my heart whispered!!

I walked out of that place to my room leaving all those soon to be wingman or Wing girl of Spooky down there to talk to Gautam. As if Aashi is gonna fall for Gautam. She took a hell lot of time to start liking me, Gautam is just wasting his time.

Why do I care? I've a lot of girls here and I'll focus on myself only. I'm here to have fun and nothing else. I slipped into my sheets and surfed the internet to divert my mind.

The door opened and Dhruv walked in. He walked to my bed and sat down on one side of the bed. I placed my mobile on one side and looked at him.

"Why are you smiling?", I asked.

"What's wrong with you?", He asked and I rolled my eyes.

"Nothing is wrong with me", I replied.

"Are you feeling lonely?", He asked.

"What? Just because Aashi is not with me doesn't make me lonely", I replied and he smirked.

"I never took her name", he smirked and I was speechless. "Guess I got an answer for your soul mood", he said in a matter of fact tone.

Why did I take her name?, My heart whispered.

"What do you want Dhruv?", I sighed.

"Answer. What's wrong with you?", He asked.

"Why would anything be wrong with me? Do you really think I'll be jealous to see Aashi and Gautam together? Please. I date Aashi because of a bet. That's it", I replied.

"I never said you're jealous", he said suppressing his laugh. He was clearly enjoying it. I glared at him.

Why am I talking nonsense?

His smile turned into a grin. He got up from his bed and said, "Are you sure?".

"About what?", I asked.

"That you don't like Aashi", he said.

"Duh, obviously", I replied.

"I don't think so", he said.

"Why?", I asked giving him a bored look.

"I never ask a single question about Aashi but your all answers were about her only. You're thinking about her, talking about her. She's affecting you", he stated.

"It's rubbish", I scoffed but deep down my heart beat raced up.

"I've seen you waiting desperately for Aashi to show up. You've literally checked all the vehicles who stop at the entrance until and unless Aashi came here. I'm your friend Kabir. Your eyes do speak a lot" he said.

"I don't know what you're talking about. I'm sleepy. Good night", I said and he sighed.

"Good night", he said and left the room. I covered my face with the blanket but Dhruv's words were stuck inside my head.

Is it possible for me to like Aashi?, My heart whispered!!
