Eva POV

The hectic holidays were over, and it was back to full training schedules. Today is supposed to be a relaxing day at the pack house doing activities with everyone. Suddenly there is someone at the door. Julian got up to answer the door thinking maybe it was a warrior.

"Danielle, what are you doing here?" I hear Julian choke out.

"I made a mistake, Julian. I shouldn't have done those things to you. I shouldn't have rejected you. I want to give us another chance." Danielle begins.

"There is no us! That ended three years ago!" Julian hollers, and I can tell he's getting agitated by the tone of his voice. I come up behind him and rub his back to let him know I'm standing there, grab his hand, intertwine our fingers and step around him.

"Hello Danielle." I say with sweetness dripping out of my mouth showing my obviously pregnant stomach.

"What are you doing here Eva? Shouldn't you be with your mate instead of whoring around with mine?" She shot back with venom in her voice, and I can see Julian visibly tense and start to shake. I aggressively rub my thumb on his hand to calm him down some.

"Well you see that's where you're wrong. I'm not the one who was whoring around. My ex-mate and I ended eight months ago. Julian and I found out that we became mates after that. So you see I AM Julian's second chance mate! I accepted Julian for EVERYTHING that he is - no matter what that was. We are expecting triplets any day now, and we got married almost two months ago." I respond. Julian just looks at me with all the love that he can - and a hint of pride.

"This isn't over Julian!" Danielle screeches, as she walks off.

"Salope!" He yells.

"She's not taking you from me, Julian!" I exclaim.

"No angel. I am finally all yours." He comforts me.

"Good. That bitch doesn't deserve you." I add.

"No she doesn't. Luckily I see that now. You, our kids and this pack are all that matter to me now." As he walks up behind me, wraps his arms around my waist and puts his hands on my ever growing stomach.

"Good. I wouldn't want to have to throw amazing sex away." I giggle.

"No need in that angel." As he grabs my hand, kisses my forehead, and we leave the pack house to go to our house - our home. "Do you want to practice some more?" He teases.

"Practice? I thought we were beyond practicing?" I taunt.

"If you say so angel." He agrees.

"No arguments from you?" I challenge.

"No we argued last night. Remember? Am I that forgettable?" He jokes, and all I can do is slap his chest. "Smartass!"

Julian POV

I've been having to work quite a bit in my office lately. The doors opens and I think it's Eva, but no, it's Danielle. I've been trying to avoid her every day she comes to the pack, which has been almost a damn week, but I guess today my luck ran out today. I don't say anything at first, and unfortunately, Danielle sees that as an open invitation to come in.

"What do you want Danielle? I'm busy." I ask flatly. She saunters over and flops in my lap.

"Julian baby - you know it's not yours?" She starts.

"Not mine - what?"

"The baby."

"The babies are mine." I reply.

"No they're not." She insists.

"And who's might they be?" I indulge her.

"Her mate's."

"I am her mate!" I yell.

"Her other mate. The one that she left. She could have gotten pregnant by him."

"Danielle, you forgot that werewolf pregnancies are shorter than humans. Plus with her alpha and my beta blood, she will only carry for four months." I remind her.

"Well it could be Romain's" She continues.

"Are you crazy??!!!" I bellow.

Just then I see Eva walk in the door. Damn it's lunch time. Danielle must have known that Eva comes every day at lunch. Eva drops what she has in her hands and runs out.

Stupid bitch, Danielle. Why is she trying to wreck everything now? Takka asks.

I don't know, but I won't allow it. I try to soothe him.

Well, now you see what she did to Eva. Eva's wolf isn't very happy with you right now. Eva is due in a week. She doesn't need this stress. Get rid of Danielle. Takka lectures.

What the hell do you think I've been doing? I ignore her every time she comes to the territory. What else do you want me to do? I can't ban her from being here. Only Scarlett can do that? I remind him.

Well maybe she should before Eva has major problems. He continues to nag me.

I will see what I can do. Now I need to fix this situation. Ok? I counter. He doesn't answer and that is good.

Danielle has some sort of satisfied smile on her face, so I promptly drop her on the floor. I go to run out the door but don't get far before running right into Ao. She looks pissed.

"Really Jules? Really?" Ao questions with venom in her voice.

"It's not what it looks like." I plead for her to understand.

"Tell that to your very pregnant and distraught wife!" She hollers.

"Danielle just showed up. She's trying to cause trouble, and it looks like she succeeded." I fume.

"What was that crack about Romain?" She asks.

"She was trying to convince me the triplets weren't mine." I reply with a gulp knowing this won't go over well.

"By suggesting they're Romain's??!!" She bellows. Oh shit!!

Now Ao is going into my office. Clean up on Aisle 4.

I start to hear hollering.

"Bitch! What would you know about being faithful?!!" Ao shouts.

I don't hear Danielle answer, all I hear are objects being thrown and then a big thud. Next I hear a crack and someone wails. I know that isn't Ao, so I rush in before Ao can kill Danielle. Not that I give a shit about whether Danielle lives, I just don't want a killing on Ao's conscience.

Holding Ao back, I happen to notice the condition of my office. Clean up on Aisle 4 and 5.

After trying to calm Ao down, Romain shows up obviously pissed as well. They ask me to go check on Eva, which I gladly do. Eva apparently blocked our mindlink and the pack mindlink, so I've been unable to reach her. Unfortunately Eva has locked herself in our bedroom, and she won't let me in.

"Angel, you know Danielle means absolutely nothing to me." Silence.

"Angel, you're my destiny. You and the kids are my world." I hear nothing but Eva's sobs now.

"Eva, please come out and talk to me." I plead, but still I only hear the sound of sobbing. I slide down and sit in front of the bedroom door for what seems like forever.

Eva refuses to listen, and Dev is out with friends. Zoey is over at Scarlett's playing with Drago and Ruby today, so it's just me and a very broken wife.

Gradually I give up on Eva coming out, and I go to the front room to play the piano. It is usually one of the few ways to calm me when I get like this. I start off by playing the song "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion, followed by the song we used at our wedding, "I'll Follow You" by Shinedown. I play for some time before I hear the bedroom door open. Not wanting to keep Eva from coming anywhere near me, I continue to play. I play "You'll Be In My Heart" by Phil Collins because that is the song I sing to the triplets all of the time - even if they aren't here yet.

Eventually she comes into the music room and sits in a chair on the opposite side of the room. She doesn't look at me, just out the window, but I can tell that she is enjoying the music - regardless of what I am playing - she always has. Once I am finished with the song I'm playing, I stop and turn towards Eva.

"Eva, please talk to me." I beg, but nothing comes from her mouth.

"Angel, please. What can I do to make you understand that she means nothing to me? That she was at my office to cause trouble?" I plead, but still nothing from Eva. I can see the tears rolling down her face, and it breaks my heart.

I slowly walk toward her, and sit next to her. Luckily she doesn't move away from my touch when I reach out and grab her hand.

"Eva, I have an idea that I've not shared with anybody. This will open myself up for you to see my whole life if you choose, but it is the only way for you to understand at this point, I guess, what you mean to me. Are you willing to try?" I ask almost pleading.

"I guess." She mutters out. Thank the Moon Goddess. Takka utters.

"Since you're pregnant I can't do this for long, but I think I can direct what memories I open up to you so you can see enough for you to understand. After you have the twins, I am more than willing to do this again, if you choose. There is nothing in my life that I don't want you to know about. Ok?"

"Sure."

"This is what I have to do. I will have to bite you, like I am going to feed, but I only have to take a little blood. This is so I will channel my thoughts so you can see what I see when I see you. Ok?"

"Ok."

"Good." She's never been one to push my vampire side away. She has never been revolted by it. Damn I love this girl.

I guide her upstairs to our room, and have her sit down this time seeing as I can use her wrist instead of her neck. Once I pierce the skin, I allow my mind to open up, and I'm not sure I've been more scared in all my life. Since I can temporarily send memories to someone, I try to channel everything about her and Danielle, so that she will understand.
