Chapter 13

I couldn't believe that the day is finally here. Time to marry the love of my life. We are already bonded in so many ways, and we now have three little ones on the way - but I still wanted to do this in front of all of my family and friends. People from all across the country were going to be here. I had family and friends in seven different packs in seven different states coming to this ceremony. I had so much to be thankful for in my life. Now is the day to join legally with my wonderful mate and partner.

We have chosen dusty rose and charcoal gray as the colors. My dress is a sleeveless gown with a sweetheart neckline. The colors faded from black near the center out in waves of different grays to white on the edges. It is the most unique dress I've ever seen and seemed perfect for me - for us - the ones who had no luck with fate so we chose one another - I couldn't be happier. The bridesmaids were wearing gowns in a dusty rose color with a sweetheart neckline but off the shoulder straps that flared out from the waist. Everything is beautifully decorated in the same dusty rose color alternating with white and blush pink. The ceremony itself is going to be held in the gazebo behind the pack house and it is draped with dusty rose curtains held up by green ivy and white calla lilies. I have many to thank for everything being put together so beautifully. My biggest regret - if there is one is not being able to include everyone as a bridesmaid. There were so many choices but I ended up going with Sienna, Sophia, Ao, Nila, Juniper and Mariah.

Julian has included Oliver, his father, Grant, Tyson, Andre, Asher and Romain.

But I had so many other family and friends that chose to gather for this ceremony - I hated not to include them also. Even Cole and his siblings came down. All my siblings gathered. Ethan and Lia came, along with Levi and Emma. Liam, Logan and Elliott are the only ones now without mates. It seems like this is the wedding of finding mates also though. Logan is helping get everything set up when I saw him look across the room and just stare. A stare I've seen all too many times. What surprised me slightly is who he is staring at - Cesar Martinez, one of the guys I danced with months ago when I first came back to Blackrose. Please let Cesar accept Logan, I think. They start walking towards each other and I'm amazed when both of their cheeks flame red when they start talking. I never knew either is into guys themselves, but it doesn't matter to me what they are - as long as Logan is happy and accepted. They spend what seems like forever talking and then they disappear.

"I think Logan found his mate." I tell mom.

"Oh really where is she?" Mom exclaims.

"Logan and him went for a walk."

"Him? I never knew. Doesn't matter though as long as Logan is happy. My babies are growing up. Liam and Elliott are the only ones left to find mates. Where is Elliott by the way?" She asks.

"Look over at the group of teens over there. He's been talking quite a bit to Rosalie."

"Rosalie?"

"Yes, Romain's youngest sister - maybe a year younger than him. Maybe he's found his mate because I've never seen him talk this much to a girl before."

"He's a little young yet - isn't he?' she questions.

"Look at Zoey and Drago. I mean they may not be mates, but they don't leave each other's sights - it's kinda cute."

Scarlett is the one that is going to perform the ceremony today. She is wearing black dress pants, a white button down shirt, black vest and a black bowtie - so Scarlett. Finally I get myself together.

"Are you ready princess?" My dad asks.

"As ready as I'll ever be."

He hands me my bouquet, a beautiful arrangement of roses in dusty rose and blush along with calla lilies surrounded by baby's breath and ivy.

I see my handsome mate waiting for me at the end of the aisle styling a charcoal gray tux. The procession begins with Sienna and Oliver, and proceeds from there. Dad leads me to the beginning of the path and "I'll Follow You" by Shinedown starts playing - yes we're not traditional.

My turn to walk, and I'm so nervous and excited my knees almost buckle.

"Easy there princess."

"I'm just so nervous dad."

"Just enjoy this moment. I love you."

"I love you too." I smile up at him.

We begin our walk, and I just can't help the tears that start to dribble out of my eye - this is everything I could have ever wanted and wished for and I'm doing it all with the man I love and our children and our family and our friends - It's perfect.

"I see you didn't stand me up." Julian jokes.

"Really JD?' I question with a smile.

"You ever hurt my princess, I'll hunt you down." Dad warns.

"Dad." I whine.

"There is nothing to worry about Alpha Gray, Evangeline is my everything, my angel, I'd sooner die than to live without her." He tells my dad sincerely.

"Good."

With this the ceremony begins.

I don't remember much of the ceremony until Sienna taps me on the shoulder.

"Your vows." Scarlett reminds me, and I hear a few chuckles.

"Julian I have loved you for five years now and everything is bound and determined to seperate us but our love has carried through. I am blessed to have you as the man in my life, as my lover, my mate, my best friend, and soon to be my husband. I promise to love, honor and cherish you all the rest of my days."

With this I slip the band on Julian's finger.

"Evangeline I never thought we would ever get to this point, but I am so thankful we have. You are my mate, my lover, my angel, my best friend and soon to be my wife. I promise to protect and love you with every fiber of my being until time ends."

With this Julian slips the band on my finger.

"By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss your bride." Scarlett recites.

We kept the kiss brief and Julian leads me back down the aisle toward the area where we are going to have the reception. Because of the amount of people present, we decide to have the reception in part of the training grounds with a flat area. Tables are set with dusty pink tablecloths and white linens. An area for dancing is set up to the side.

"Guess who?" Someone says from behind me.

"It must be the cuter one, Connor." I joke, knowing good and well Cole would show up before Connor.

"You wound me, m'lady." He says as I turn to look into the beautiful blue eyes of one of my friends from Tidewater.

"How's life been treating you?"

"Lonely." He frowns.

"No mate yet?"

"I guess that would be obvious from the fact that I said I was lonely - but no mate yet. I really want someone to love, to be my own." He blushes.

"Still staying away from the girls i see." I tease.

"Yeah...umm...yeah waiting for my mate." as his cheeks turn a crimson shade.

"She'd be lucky to have you. Let's walk and I'll show you around some of the pack grounds."

We begin our walk, but all of a sudden Cole stops dead in his tracks.

"Does honeysuckle grow this time of year?"

"I'm not sure, but I don't smell it." but Cole doesn't stop and I am forced to follow. It leads us to an area where some of the witches and mages are helping prepare the stage and Cole stops and stares at who I realize is Zola Williams.

"Who is that gorgeous blonde over there?" Cole questions with amazement in his eyes.

"Zola, but..." I don't get anymore words out when Cole's feet seem to automatically drag him towards Zola, and I fear the worst.

"Hi, my name is Cole Walsh. What's your name beautiful?" but Zola looks conflicted. There is amazement, confusion and distrust all swirling in her eyes and the next thing I know she is running off.

"Wait!" Cole yells after her, but I rush up and stop him.

"Cole, you need to stop."

"That's my mate Eva. Why'd she run from me?" He chokes out.

"Cole, Zola has had a rough few years. It might take her some time to come around and even speak to you. Her story isn't mine to tell, but I will ask you this - please give her time. I will go speak with her tomorrow and try to smooth things over, but that is the best that I can promise."

"But she's my mate. I've waited my whole life for her."

"I know Cole, and I promise I will do my best to get her to talk with you." And I meant every word of what I said.

Cole is a sweet and loving guy that any woman should be proud to have as a mate, but Zola has been through some really tough times over the last year - all at the hands of a male - not helpful at the moment for Cole gaining her trust. I just hope I can smooth things over. Cole would be a good mate for Zola.

"Eva, it's time to cut the cake." Julian calls out.

"Give her time, please." I advise Cole.

"Ok, but talk to her for me. I've been waiting for years for my mate."

"I will. It will work out." I try to convince him, as I turn to go to my waiting husband.

Julian comes over and leads me to the table where the cake is sitting waiting to be cut. It doesn't take us long to get everything arranged and the first pieces are cut. Julian carefully feeds me a piece, but I have different ideas. As soon as the piece reaches my mouth, I move his slice and smear it on his face. The look he gives me is worth what I know is coming next when he reaches down, grabbing another slice and returning the favor. Our guests find this funny, and so do we, especially when Julian pulls me in for a kiss before proceeding to lick some of the icing off, the flash of the cameras assuring me that all of it was captured in pictures.

There are two things I know for certain at this moment, one- I will never forget this day for the rest of my life. And two- Life with Julian is never boring, and I hope it always stays that way.
