The Game
The counselors sat in silence, all still taking everything in. Some coped with it better than others, some didn't care and thought it was cool, and some were just freaking out. Clarisse was glaring at Percy while he tried to ignore her...it wasn't working well for him. Lee as looking around the interior, Silena was hugging herself while muttering something about the future and impossible, Beckendorf was tinkering with some shared sticks and some rubber bands that he had in his pocket, the rest of the counselors were talking among themselves.
Annabeth stood up and walked around the tent, scanning the decor. She looked at the clothing Thalia had left out, a silver ski jacket with blue jeans and black combat boots "She's a hunter."
Luke fingered the pelts of the many animal skin trophies "Ya, I wonder why though."
"Well she isn't exactly attractive." All heads turned to the entrance of the tent, Drew was standing there while looking at her finger nails.
"We wouldn't want you to find her attractive, that would just be weird." Silena shot back "And actually she's very beautiful and that's without the twenty pounds of make up that cakes your face right now."
"You do realize you just said you find her attractive in a different way."
"No, I just said she was beautiful that doesn't mean I find her attractive."
Drew rolled her eyes "Whatever."
Annabeth stepped forward "You need to leave, you're only aloud to be in here if you are a cabin counselor."
"Oh I will be some day, Princess." She replied while putting lipstick on.
"Get. Out." The daughter of Athena growled.
"Alright, Alright, I'm going." Drew disappeared from the entrance of the tent.
Silena sighed "Honestly that witch is getting on my nerves."
"Couldn't imagine why." Luke muttered sarcastically.
While everyone was talking Percy was wondering around the large tent, he wasn't much of a snooper but he was curious. He saw some papers scattered on the floor and a oaken desk with a lit candle on the side. He walked over to the desk and ran his hands over the grain of the red, polished wood. The symbol of Artemis was carved in the left side while the symbol of Camp Half-Blood was carved on the right, and the symbol of Zeus was carved in the front. On top of the desk a carved in sword ran right down the middle with a trident carved at the beginning of the blade and the ending of the hilt. The sword Anaklusmos or 'Riptide'. Percy fingered the carving in fascination, that was supposedly his sword. On the desk was a circular disk with a trident on top, Percy narrowed his eyes and picked it up. It was warm to the touch like it was a machine that had been running not to long ago, he flipped it over to the back but it was just a flat surface. As he studied it he realized it was made entirely out of Celestial Bronze.
"Confusing, I know."
Percy almost jumped out of his skin when he heard the voice. He quickly turned around to a dark corner from where the voice had come. A blonde haired boy slowly appeared from the shadows with a kind smile on his face. A small scar was on his upper lip and he had electric blue eyes, just like Thalia's.
"Who are you?" Percy asked wearily.
The blonde guy smiled "My name is Jason, Jason Grace. I'm Thalia's brother."
Jason walked toward him "Now you're probably wondering how that thing works and what it's used for, corrects?"
Percy nodded.
"Well you'll find that out later, but if I were you I'd try placing it in water." Jaso smirked "Just saying. Now, lets go corral your friends and find Thalia, a storm's coming soon and I would like to get back to Anaklusmos before it gets here."
Percy nodded and set down the bronze disk before following Jason to the main of the tent. Annabeth stood up along with Luke, both had weapons ready "Who are you?"
Jason held his hands up slightly "Calm down, I'm Jason, Thalia's brother. I'm hear to take you guys back to camp...though I wasn't expecting to see you guys so soon."
"Thalia said that too." Annabeth and Luke lowered their weapons.
Jason chuckled "If Leo has something to do with this you'd have him hung."
"Excuse me?"
The son of Jupiter shook his head "Nevermind."
"Hey guys, I'm back with some food. Jason should be here soon--." Thalia walked through the tent entrance right when she spotted her brother "Or he's already here."
"Hey Thals." Jaso smiled and gave his sister a hug.
Thalia smiled "Hey Sparky, how's camp?"
"It's pretty good, only that Percy and his patrol hasn't come back yet. At least when I left they hadn't, Annabeth is getting worried, with the storm coming in and everything."
"Ya, I was watching that. Seems like a big one too, let's just hope they get back safely." Thalia started gathering her stuff and putting it in a pouch no bigger than a gum pack.
"Doesn't that get heavy?"
"No."
"Right, the whole 'she's a goddess' thing."
"Yep."
Soon Thalia packed everything up and they all filed outside to the rest of the group so she could put away the tent.
"Oh and Thalia?" Jaso began.
"Yes?"
The brother smirked "The Game."
As soon as the words left his mouth Thalia froze. She turned around, her eye twitching angrily making Jason laugh. She growled "Why you little--!"
Thalia tackled him to the ground which soon started a wrestling match. The campers all looked at eachother "I'm confused." Percy said.
Everyone nodded in agreement. Thalia started punching Jason's stomach...hard "I WAS WINNING BY TWO WEEKS!"
"Well, not anymore! OUCH!"
Thalia started to strangle him "I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!"
Jason laughed and threw her off him, Thalia landed on her feet with a snarl. She was about to charge him again when Annabeth shouted "Guys! 1) we are all confused and 2) shouldn't we be heading back to camp?"
Thalia sighed while Jason smirked "Ya you're right." She then turned to Jason "Don't think your off the hook just yet."
The smirk disappeared from Jason's face, it was Thalia's turn to smirk. She turned back to Annabeth "The Game is that you can't think about 'the game.'"
"That's confusing."
"It is at first and the funny thing is that you came up with it, it's a brain trainer and also a break away from stress."
"Interesting."
"Very."
Jason sighed "We really need to get going."
"Ya, I agree. That storm isn't slowing down." Thalia looked up at the ominous, darkening sky "This storm will be cuel to us in more way than one. It will be the first but definatly not out last."
