Five hundred years earlier------------

"Delilah! Sis answer me!"

"Samuel she isn't responding!" Lily screamed.

I got to Delilah's side and tried shaking her to wake up. Blood trickled down her forehead and her eyes remained closed.

"Wake up please..." I begged. "Don't go away yet..."

Across from us remained Sebastian's dead body.

"Call the ambulance something is going on!" Lily cried. I quickly stood up and ran out of the church.

She must live.... She'll be okay....

I ran out into the fleeing crowd running out of the church. All the people got startled and panic to save their lifes.

In the distance I could see Dominic and Sarah running away.

I tried following them but my sister needed help quick.

"Help! Someone I need help!" I shouted. Fear clutched in my heart and I ran frantically searching for help.

In the distance I could hear the sirens.

"Help!"

"Stand back!" The doctors rushed her bed down the hallway into a room.

"Wait that's my sister!" I protested.

Lily grabbed my arm and pulled me back.

"Let them do their job." She pleaded. "She is in their hands now."

I watched as my sister was taken away.

Across the hallway another group of doctors took Sebastian in another bed.

"My child!" Lily screamed.

"There is nothing we can do miss. Your son is dead." A doctor informed us. "You need to arrange his funeral."

Lily bowed her head in defeat and started to cry. Her tears rolled down her face as she cried silently.
I embraced her tight as she buried her face on my chest.

"Do something! It's not fair!" I started to yell.

Sebastian and Delilah were meant to live together not die!

"Sorry son all we can do now is save your sister." He smiled sadly and walked away.

"Oh Samuel!" Lily cried. "Samuel... My child is dead!" She screamed. I held her tight in my arms and couldn't help but cry.

"Don't worry everything will be okay." I assured her.

Sadly nothing is okay.

"Sir? Sir?" I felt someone shaking me. I opened my eyes and jumped from my seat. A doctor stood in front of me.

"How's my sister?!" I asked even though I feared the answer.

"She gave birth."

What?!?!

"Samuel Easton your sister gave a successful birth to a baby boy. Sadly she went in coma."

Coma?!?!?!

"Her body is responding okay but she remains unconscious. The good news there is no danger of dying. All we can do is wait for her to wake up."

"How long?" I asked the doctor.

"That depends. To some it takes just a few hours or days. Not to mention they could be in coma for years."

Years?!?!

I felt my body go weak and fear run through my veins.

"Lets hope it won't be for that long." The doctor patted my back and walked away.

"Oh Samuel?" He looked back. "Bring Lily. Meet me across the hall. There is someone I want you to meet." He gave a small smile.

"Here he is." A nurse handed me a blue bundle of blanket. "He is ready to go."

I peeked in the blanket and stared at a sleeping face.

"Samuel look at him." Lily layed a hand on my shoulder and stared at the baby boy beside me. "He is adorable." She sobbed.

"He sure is." My voice cracked.

''Samuel?" The doctor got to the nurse's side.

"If I were you, you need to name the child. His mother will be in a coma for a while. There is no knowing when she'll wake up."

Lily gasped as the doctor finish speaking.

I felt like crying again.

"Sorry Samuel." The doctor nodded and left with the nurse.

"Samuel what will you name him?'' Lily asked.

I felt my heart freeze.

"Derek Sebastian."

I felt Lily tense.

"Thank you Samuel." She gave a small smile. "Thank you." She kissed my cheek and walked off.

"Lily?"

"Sorry Samuel I..I.." Tears swelled up her eyes and she ran off.

I felt sorry for her. She went to mourn for her son's death.

I felt the bundle move a bit and I stared back at the child in my arms.

Indeed he was a precious child...

The baby opened his eyes.

They were dark blue.

Something about those eyes reminded me of someone.

I ignored the thought and held the bundle close to my chest.

"Don't worry." I rubbed the child's cheek with my finger. "I'll protect you."

A tear slid out of my eye.

"Everything will be okay."

So I hope...
