"I have something for you." Christian said as he pulled out a piece of paper from his pocket.

We both were currently sitting in his jeep. He had called me today morning, asking me to meet him in half an hour.

"Okay. What is this about?" I asked.

"Just read it." He said as he handed me the paper. I looked down at the paper and my eyes widened.

It was an acceptance letter from the Football Tournament.

"You actually applied for it?" I asked him. To say I was surprised would be an understatement.

"Well, it was what you asked for your birthday present, isn't it?" He smiled.

"Yeah, but I didn't actually think that you would do it." I honestly stated.

"I can't deny the birthday girl's request now, can I?" He chuckled. "And also, my mom forced me to do it."

"God! I love Jenny." I chuckled.

"Of course you do. You both love troubling me." He rolled his eyes.

"Aww. Is Chrissy boy sad?" I teased him.

"Never ever call me that again." He glared at me. I just cheekily smiled.

"And I also have one more thing for you." He smiled as he took out a small box from his pocket and handed it to me. I raised my eyebrows at him. He just nodded and told me to open it.

I opened it to find a charm bracelet inside it. A smile graced my lips as I scanned the bracelet.

"That's a dress, signifying prom where we first met, which was exactly a month before." He chuckled.

A month. It had been a month since I met him. It feels like I have known him forever.

"Then that's a star, for-" I interrupted him.

"For the time you saved me from that hideous prom and took me stargazing." I chuckled and he nodded.

"There is also a burger. They didn't have a charm for Acqua Pazza. So I had to settle for a burger." He informed me.

"Thank god they didn't! Alberto's Acqua Pazza does not taste good." I chuckled.

"You got that right." He chuckled. "There's also an elephant."

"When we were at the Zoo." I smiled.

"And then there is much more space for many more memories." He smiled.

"I love it." I said as I clasped it on my wrist.

"I'm glad you did." He smiled.

And then we sat there, staring at each other. My eyes dropped down to his lips and back up to his eyes.

Kiss him!

I don't know.

Do you want to kiss him?

Hell yeah.

Then do it!

I don't know. I don't want to make it awkward between us.

Things are never awkward between you too.

"So, when does your practice start?" I asked, bring us both out of our daze.

"Which practice?" He asked, still feeling dazed.

"Football practice, you duffer." I chuckled.

"Oh that. Yeah well-" He leaned towards the backseat and pulled a huge sports bag up to show me. "It starts in half an hour. I wanted to ask if you wanted to come. Else, I'll drop you home."

"I'd love to come-" We were interrupted by my phone's ringtone. Ryder was calling me. Christian saw that as well and he visibly stiffened. I don't think he likes Ryder that much.

"Hey Ry. What's up?" I said into the phone.

"Val I need you. It's my parents." He stated.

The look on her face said it all.

I dropped her home. She told me that it was an emergency. She didn't tell me what the emergency was.

I know I should trust her but I can't help but feel jealous. She left me to go see her ex-boyfriend.

I know he doesn't have feelings for her and that he is her best friend but still.

My first practice had just ended. It was fun. It felt good to play football after so long.

I was currently heading to Val's house to see if everything was okay.

I agree. That was a lie. I am only going there because I miss her.

And I also want to know what was so important about Ryder that she left me.

The door opened revealing Jonah.

"Val's upstairs. And don't close the door." Was all he said as he disappeared into the house.

I made my way towards Val's room and knocked at the door.

"Hey Chris!" Val said as she opened the door. She was in her pajamas and a tank top with a towel wrapped around her hair. She had just taken a bath.

"Hey. Just came to check on you. You kind of left in a hurry. You good?" I smiled.

"Is that why you are here? Or did you just miss me?" She smirked. "Come on in."

I just rolled my eyes, trying to stop the blush forming on my cheeks.

"Val! Come on! Give it to me. What's taking you so long!" A voice came from the bathroom.

Specifically, Ryder's voice.

"Is that..." I trailed off. I knew it was wrong of me to assume things but I couldn't help it.

Were they showering together?

I just stood up and walked out of the room.

"Chris wait!" Val called for me.

I ran down the stairs and ran towards the door when I bumped into someone.

"Sorry-" I looked up to see Dr. Parker standing there.

"Dr. Parker. What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Aunt Feli. Thank you for stopping him." I heard Val's voice as she ran towards me.

"Aunt? Dr. Parker is your aunt?" I looked at Val. Her eyes immediately widened as she looked between Dr. Parker and me.

"Christian-" I cut her off.

"I told you I didn't need your help. Still you didn't listen to me. I thought you liked me. But it's just an act out of pity, isn't it?" I glared at her.

"Christian, it's not like that. Please listen-" Her voice was interrupted by the sound of the door closing. I sat inside my car and drove off to the hospital to see my mom.

My mom was the only woman I needed in my life.
